  1. Think it was the second half of the decade. Find references to the "new NS2" system in reviews from 2007/2008. For example a review from Arnies from 2008 making reference to the new System 7. https://arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/157508-ksc-sigpro-sp2022/
  2. True the uptake will probably be somewhat similar to lipo batteries. Interesting that thus far (to this best of my knowledge) no company has them as standard in the AEGs. Think one of them (possibly VFC?) were hinting at introducing a range with them out of the box.
  3. That makes sense. Glad to see that the number of brushless motors available seems to be increasing. Beats just having Warhead and Option no.1 as the only choices.
  4. The bottom adjustment is an interesting addition. Seen the new brushless T238 motors have a similar set up.
  5. Was going to mention the Prometheus gears but someone else has covered it. They are available from Eagle six, again pricey but at least should be better postage costs. https://eagle6.co.uk/shop/catalog/product/view/id/3965/s/laylax-prometheus-high-speed-hard-gear-set-version-7-for-m14-standard-aeg-series/
  6. Hope that they continue to produce both the standard and deluxe model. It's always nice to have options. Also kudos to VFC for coming up with two different lines versus King Arms dismal progress on the FAL front.
  7. Been very tempted in the past by that. Particularly with the SCAR Convertible Outer Barrel, makes a very decent looking piece.
  8. Fair point. Should have specified a FAL Aeg. By all accounts the VFC is a lovely piece of kit. The same company have a DX version due for release this year. Which of course will be out before any King Arm's FAL/L1A1 offerings in all likelihood.
  9. Wish another company would give a FAL type a go. At this stage think I might sink the funds I have set aside for the KA into a DCA L7A2. October/November seems a short wait compared to King Arms' generic "end of 2023".
  10. Bonus points if you leave your phone at the site.
  11. Take off stock and place in bag. Put stock back on when at game site. Take off stock before packing at the end of the day. Would it be viable?
  12. Probably still the best, bit less fiddly with more ready cut patch options and pre flat hopped rubbers these days. The cost difference isn't as significant if you're willing to install them yourself. If you're buying a pre done barrel is costlier. That being said the various alternatives are about 90% of the performance for a lot less hassle. As others have pointed out. Might for instance put a r-hop on a beloved DMR. While the other stuff in the collection gets something more mundane. Recently put a PDI W-hold in a carbine build as it's what I had in stock. Decent barrel and nice BBs, didn't feel particularly out gunned even if it is fairly dated set up.
  13. See that they are now available in different variants i.e. M240 B/L, L7A2. Also the price seems more reasonable, under the 1K. Although you can cough up an extra £150 for a steel barrel. About 9kg weight for the standard and 12kg for the steel. Landing date seems nearer the end of the year. https://www.davescustomairsoft.co.uk/dca-l7a2-gpmg-aeg-pre-order https://www.davescustomairsoft.co.uk/DCA-M240-BRAVO-Pre-Order https://www.davescustomairsoft.co.uk/dca-m240L-gpmg-aeg-pre-order
  14. Well they at least had one at their stand at the IWA show, according to some videos. I'm not too optimistic as to their time-frame. Would be nice to be surprised as waiting since 2019 myself and others a lot longer.
  15. Ares. Every few years I pick up one of their snowflake guns e.g. VZ-58 or TAR21. End up selling it on at a hefty loss or the thing semi permanently in bits waiting for a teching session. The proprietary aspects are a real pain. Will credit them for trying original things but wouldn't be in a rush to get another one.
  16. Yeah it was a complete horror show. Remember there was a thread on Arnies with a chap that was going through the various problems. That particular individual was one who has made his own replicas from scratch. God help the average airsofter trying to get one running.
  17. It's certainly a different choice. At the moment you can get airsoft versions of Makarovs, Tokarevs and a Grach as well. The odd thing is that Raptor/TWI are releasing a Stechkin this year too. So there will be a choice in 2023 for one after that particular pistol.
  18. Yeah, that would be sensible. Also be careful of the wiring when putting it back together. Can be very frustrating to do internal work and then pinch a wire during the reassembly phase.
  19. The hope would be the price to drop by a good bit later. All the same, would certainly agree as regards some of Dave's pricing. My particular favourite was the >£1000 guns where you would also be charged the guts of a fiver extra for deans or XT60 connectors.
  20. Interesting and disappointing at the same time. Remember from reading a thread on Arnies that one user had to remove quite a few bits and replace them. That was gearbox related. Annoying to spend that amount and then have to switch the internals to Lonex/Prometheus/SHS parts. That's manageable at a push. However a crap hop up unit is a deal breaker. See that Bullgear have a unit for the MK48. Would probably be extremely unlikely that would come out with one for such a unicorn MG as a £>2000 GPMG. Had a A&K PKM and enjoyed it but ultimately it started to fall apart. The VFC line of Support guns would also seem to be questionable in some of their internal choices. Seems the quest for a nice support gun continues.
  21. One for those with particularly deep pockets. Lambda Defence and Dave's Custom armory seem to have teamed up to fill the L7A2 shaped hole in the market. Pre-order up at the site for the sum of £2500. Will be curious to see how the project turns out. https://www.davescustomairsoft.co.uk/dca-gpmg
  22. Think you might be right unfortunately. Might have to be more realistic with the choices in the new year. Been waiting since 2018 at this stage.
  23. To their credit, the seem to be claiming that the L1A1 re-stock will be at the end of 2023. Something to look forward to in the new year. Might pick up a different gun or two between then.
  24. Green devil bio BBs were quite well regarded. Think they did batches in brown and green.
  25. VFC M249 series seems very impressive. In particular, the large number of accessories. Also glad they are still going ahead with a DX version of the LAR. In terms of other brands, LCT seem to have finally gotten round to their SVDS. While the G3K seems a good addition to their G3/33 series. Also Lambda defence seems to have a M240L, which might precede a more vanilla m240 or even FN MAG. Poor effort from King Arms at their stall, no L1A1 or FAL. Also they seem to be ignoring fans on social media asking after them.
