  1. What platform ? AEG or gas ? if it's an aeg you are better changing the spring . You will also need to factor in what cylinder you have , ported or non ported . If it's gas lengthening the barrel will likly increase fps rather than reduce it.
  2. Maple leaf rubber and nub also from Milspec solutions , and I find that Maple leaf crazy jet barrels work well. What method did you use to lock it to semi ? Never done it on a Scar . Nick
  3. No particular reason that you would have to replace the barrel, although lots of slide kits seem to come with a barrel. Iseem to recall that WE offer some alternative slides. http://www.milspecsolutions.co.uk/gas-blowback-parts/we-pistol-parts/WE-Custom-G17-Black-Slide-with-Gold-Barrel-Kit.html for example. Milspec also stock the adaptor for the supressor.
  4. Outer barrel on my WE G18 is threaded, pretty sure the 17 is too. In order to fit a supressor you will just need an adaptor . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143648628067?hash=item2172201d63:g:MMYAAOSwMvpbzHKp Something like this. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174351231143?hash=item289824a8a7:g:MF4AAOSwDNdVhEAR or this. I would need to double check what thread size the barrel accepts.
  5. You are correct, a longer inner barrel in a GBBR will increase fps / power . You may find that there is an alternative nozle available too, Japan has very strict power limits, there may ba a 'rest of the world ' option What length is the inner barrel now ?
  6. I can certainly imagine the depths of a Swedish winter not doing well on blue gas ! Adolf Hamster's suggestion of shimming the float valve could be the way to go , there are videos showing the process on youtube, also fiting a pistol length inner barrel would help if you can get one .
  7. Guessing you are not in the UK ? I suspect you are going to have to try it on Blue gas to see if it will cycle . Never tried mine on less than green. What fps / power level are you aiming for ?
  8. If you want to get the power down on a GBBR you are best to install an NPAS which will give you adjustability for different sites. I have one in all mine , and can hapily get my L119 which is based on a WE M4 down to 1.1 joules (just under 350 fps on .20's although our local site chrono's on power and I run .30's) on red gas or lower on green gas. You will need to check the fps / power limits for whichever CQB site you are wanting to play at and set the NPAS up from there.
  9. Good for the forum if it brings in revenue, but bloody awful when using a laptop, page almost becomes unreadable TBH
  10. I've got a feeling that the base gun for the VFC is WE. Might be worth checking out their SCAR H mags to see how they compare visually with yours.
  11. I would think that a longer barrel could increase range, but only because it is increasing energy. If a BB leaves the barrel at your 400 fps and assuming the hop is optimal it will go 'X' distance, if it leaves a short barrel at 400 fps or a long barrel at 400 fps isn't going to make a difference as the BB is carying the same energy . Plenty of gas pistols out there that can match or better AEG ranges with short barrels .
  12. They usually fit ok, the ridges help compress the rubber on the barrel and aid the seal. I have occasionally had to use a drop of silicone oil on the outside of the rubber to help it slide in to the hop (oh er ! 🤣)
  13. if its the GBBR 416 then the plug will not serve any purpose so you can just remove it
  14. Quick mock up picture of a build I am doing with a mate Gas L119A2 short. It'll have a bunch of real steel parts by the time it's done, stock, buffer tube, pistol grip, fore grip and mag catch will all be genuine parts. (stock etc will be the correct FDE ) It's being built as a tribute to my mate's 15 year old son who tragically died suddenly during lockdown. Tom was a great kid who was mad about airsoft, but who also had everything mapped out. He was planning to join up and was determined ultimatly to go for selection, given how determined he was he would probably have made it too. So we felt that an L119 A2 was an apropriate build . I'll update the pics as parts arrive !
  15. https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/ics-iks74u-metal-front-sight-set Would this do it ?
  16. The SD6 is fully plastic body, my second one was fully plastic too but now is a JG / ICS hybrid with a metal upper. I find the sliding hop ok but I know some do drift but a biy of blue tak can stop that. I think some of the new JG MP5's are metal uppers but no experience of them.
  17. Got a couple of JG MP5s including an SD6, cant really fault them. The plastic seems quite robust and they happily out shoot more expensive guns. Use mine regularly .
  18. Sounds like you are getting to grips with the hop 👍 Before doing a spring change it's worth checking the air seals (do a quick search or look at youtube) and you also need to establish what power level the gun is putting out now. A stronger spring can improve performance , but it's very easy to go over the legal limit especially with the heavier BBs. Do you have access to a chrono ? if not it's worth getting one. They aren't expensive and are an essential tool in upgrading your guns.
  19. Are you saying that the BB's rise significantly as they fly ? if so it's over hoping and you either need to take some hop off or use heavier BB's
  20. I run several JG guns and have always found them to be much better than the price would suggest. Wouldn't hesitate to buy again. Incase no one has mentioned it, just watch the barrel if it's longer than your other gun, easy to smack it on a tree ! Nick
  21. I'll be there, along with asorted repaired pistols and mags ! 🤣🤣 And a bunch of guns I havn't run for a while. Trying to get out of the habbit of always taking the same ones
  22. Glad you had a good day, they are a decent bunch at Survival. I knew I was picking up Matt's combat master to look at , Chris's mags were a complete surprise 🤣 Looking forward to playing on 2nd !
