pretty sure the one on here with the custom fitted f2 only sold for 600, so 500 for the standard aeg version is absolutely a bargain....... i mean f2's are worth £100 secondhand right?

in fairness that's just ky airsoft for you. i ended up cancelling part of an order because they hadn't sent it despite being re-stocked and available on their website (this is several months after the initial order and before covid kicked off), then then tried to trick the paypal case with the old "close the case and we'll refund you" (when paypal explicitly states doing that will mean you can't re-open if they renege on their promise) they then haggled over the postage cost, which i'd estimated using their own website for the parts in the order. eventually paypal stepped in and gave me my money back (which is why we love paypal) but i'll be trying to avoid them where possible from now on. shame because they are the only stockists for a lot of the more niche WE spares.

me local had those in for a while, apparently they sold really well. although to who i don't know, i've never seen one fielded.

the internals certainly, but the externals are more of a design choice thing. maybe it's once burned twice shy but if there was an e&l variant of a gun i wouldn't even consider lct. granted lct do make some stuff that e&l don't.

you can, but you run the risk of issues such as backlash or different teeth profiles. as long as you're checking for those it's all good. i've done mis-matched builds in the past this way.

agreed, any time i've run a variable it's been set to roughly 4x and left there. for up close just stack a red dot.

so £40 for an shs dsg, jg idler and a quite worn bevel that looks to be g&g or brand new £14.50 for the shs gear and taking your pick of any of the 18:1 shs sets (even the internal bearing ones) works out sub £35 assuming the nozzle is indeed shs those are £4 new as well...... all in you're able to do an equivalent setup (using standard gears not the fancy ones) brand new from ak2m4 for £34 including shipping. edit: on a side note i feel compelled to doubt the 55rps claim, assuming at that speed the piston survived long enough to register enough shots through a chrono i've not met a magazine, even the mighty cyma micap, that can feed beyond 50 reliably.

tried it with just the gears in the shell spinning by hand? also worth checking backlash, even a completely matched set of gears can sound bad if the box has them spaced slightly too far apart. other thing worth checking is the idler in particular can commonly not be flat, so whilst it might spin freely for part of its cycle it could bind at a single point.

in fairness, the geometry of a hop rubber, especially the fancier designs like ml, is not a trivial thing to make.
