  1. binary, so it's "semi" only for cqb. i'm just taking the speedsofter stereotype to the extremes
  2. RIP Prince Philip

99's one hell of an innings

  3. tbh i reckon there's no real true answer to this both sides have good points and bad points. anyone using silicone oil, alcohol, or nothing at all to clean their barrels are still at least cleaning their barrels. which is better than not cleaning at all which is the trap so many fall into.
  4. if it was a car tyre it'd have done 1.7km no i don't know why i made that comparison either, carry on......
  5. that's an autofill suggestion not a search result
  6. looking good, hope it gains traction. open source is great too as when a site moves/closes good to have it kept up to date, i know there are sites that have been closed for years still show up on google.
  7. and a binary trigger, most likely a titan. even if it's a gas gun running on hpa with no actual gearbox they'll find a way.......
  8. don't we have versions of both of those?
  9. given he had an evaluation thread: so, lets evaluate this package in detail: we take our £170 gun: https://www.surplusstore.co.uk/nuprol-delta-ak21-black-6mm-airsoft-rif-aeg.html mess around with the internals (looks to have had a barrel change at least), but unspecified what's going on, given the specifics aren't mentioned i'd worry about the quality of any work that's been done. add a paint job which might appeal to some buyers, but will alienate everyone who doesn't happen to exactly like that style. add a cleaning rod- literally worthless, guns come with them as-standard and most folks are gonna have a couple lying around. original box- again not much value save for a collectors peice, which a nuprol is not. 4 hicap mags- given most folk will already have mags these aren't worth much to a lot of buyers (especially the mid-cap master race) however in the interests of fairness we'll add that on, given the brand is unspecified i'll be lazy and pick the first result on google for a nuprol hicap at £10 per mag: https://www.defconairsoft.co.uk/product/nuprol-m4-metal-hi-cap-370rnd/ battery and charger- pretty much worthless to anyone who is already setup, but given how this is going so far we'll add that on at £21 for the battery and £10 for the charger (super lazy googling): https://www.surplusstore.co.uk/nuprol-9-6-1600-mah-nunchuck-crane-stock-type.html https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/asg-intelligent-auto-stop-nicd-nimh-battery-charger gun bag- no info to go on here, so we'll do a quick lazy search and find a gun bag for £20: https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/nuprol-pmc-essentials-soft-rifle-bag?pv=8366 overall i'm getting an equivalent package for £261 brand new, with warranty, without any effort put into shopping around save for ensuring that the item is in stock from a uk seller........ i was gonna do a comparison with other sales in that price bracket, but this post is long enough already.....
  10. just "used" gives me cardboard boxes?
  11. i suppose i'm coming from the viewpoint that a hop rubber replacement is pretty run of the mill maintenance, i tend not to do it often but then i also tend not to have a gun in the same config long enough for wear to really be an issue. the curse of the serial tinkerer......
  12. in fairness, a hop rubber is a wear item anyway, and given the price of them longevity shouldn't be a massive concern all things considered. i must admit while i don't use silicone these days, when i did i can concur that it never seemed to be an issue when as you say it clears up after a few rounds. hence why i ended up just going dry- split the difference but i'm not convinced either method is really an issue unless done to the extremes.
  13. suppose i should clarify- doesn't have to be a fireable replica. as much as i'd love an old school cap&ball revolver for pewing afaik they basically don't exist.
  14. think that was from negative airsoft where i heard it originally, sounds like a good idea, not tried it myself. main downside i can see is it isn't that handy for guns where the barrel isn't easily removable (read: pretty much everything bar an m4) my normal go-to is a strip of microfibre on your standard issue plastic cleaning rod, just run through dry.
  15. here ya go: https://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/1851-colt-navy-revolver-pistol-by-denix.html doesn't specifically need to be a navy model, just the old school open-frame colts in general.
  16. figured it might be worth a quick shout on here see if anyone has any useful information. want to get a present for a mate of mine, he's a big fan of old west gear and specifically relevant he quite likes the old open-topped colt navy patterns. having a scout round seems to be denix does a model that fits the bill, nicely decorated up, but if there are any alternatives i could look at it'd be appreciated edit: title doesn't do the & symbol, i am dissapoint......
  17. is it bad that my first thoughts are as follows: 1. that is not a pretty gun..... 2. it's airsoft innovations- a good idea, nominally well made, but it just won't work right.....
  18. must be a long version of the scar? one of the advantages of shorter gnu's the fancy barrels are cheaper
  19. i think i have a problem. i actually start twitching now when i see an aks74u with a 7.62 mag in it......
  20. todays "i wants it"

    a gbb svu.....

    1. Asomodai

Pity they aren't very good :(

havent heard much about them, tbh i figured it'd just be the WE base gun converted pretty much how the real svu was converted.

i mean i can't afford it anyway but a man can dream......

  21. it does seem to be weirdly polarised the svd market. you've got the cheaper versions in KA/cyma, then the expensive versions in WE (by the time you buy mags) and RS and nothing in the middle. as much as i'm not a fan of lct these days, it would certainly be good if they could fill that gap. such a shame as for dmr purposes the svd is thoroughly under-represented despite being bloody good (surprise surprise the gun that invented the dmr concept is a good dmr) to answer the op's question a mate of mine has what we think is a king arms svd (the para model), if it is then @colinjallen's assessment seems pretty much bang on the money. however i'd probably look at cyma given you're more likely to be able to get bits for it.
  22. I know where you're coming from but it's been the guts of a decade so dont wanna go slandering somewhere when it could be a completely different place now. I'm planning to head back myself to check it out (assuming they survive lockdown). They seemed to have the right motivation so maybe they just had as bad an understanding of physics at the time as i did.
