  1. that's not an ak that's an abomination.
  2. yeah afaik they only do the one model. never really cared about what mag a gun comes with. from what i've heard the earlier models had a habit of shaking themselves apart which they fixed by just putting the mega threadlock on everything. tbh, i wouldn't say lct's internal quality is all that good either, passable but not as good as you'd want given the cost.
  3. yes, there's a little loop build into the left side of the front sight block for the standard pattern ak slings. beautiful guns them, supposedly a bear to work on but good strong recoil.

it's as much a case of why expend the effort as technical possibility. generally the hard limit is a function of the energy limit you have to deal with, so when folks see yanks with their 40rps builds they forget that being able to run 1.5+j in a "cqb" gun is part of what enables that to be practical. not with a gearbox but as hpa i did tinker with the bleeding edge of fire rate up into the 50's when even the mighty cyma midcap struggles to keep up and frankly it didn't provide any benefit that outweighed being "that cunt with the buzz gun"
  5. once again we find ourselves with a titan whining about not being able to see the sector gear....

remind me why i decided to double down on this insanity?

tis the advanced edition, didn't see anything the one above had apart from rankings?

From what I can see in the GCS you can set the cycle detection to manual for both semi and auto.

But I don't think it's worth the extra penny they ask for the expert.

yeah, of course i don't wanna override the cycle detection cos otherwise what's the point of having a titan in there in the first place :P

i'll strip the box later just check everything's running ok.

in other news the warhead motor is an interesting beast, doesn't "feel" like it should be as torquey as it is but goddamn if it doesn't have insane pickup speed.

this thing has the semi response of a 40rps gun in one that's only actually doing 18, which tbf was sort of what i was aiming for.

  6. Well you already have my suggestion as to what you should do, better alternative than insulting random people on the internet. As for the physics argument, there's a fair bit of "i know more than you" style posting on all sides (and yes i'm as guilty of that as everyone else), but not much substance backing up those claims. If people do genuinely have an understanding (such as the claim of optimum barrel length being between x and y) then why not share not only that claim but why this is the case (as in if you claim to know the physics behind it then explain it). If we can do that without descending into petty bickering, we might just learn something and grow as a community. I know it can be hard to admit when one is wrong on the internet, but i for one would rather have to swallow my pride and change my tune when presented with proper evidence to counter my existing understanding than be spreading false information to people who don't know better.
  7. ahh yes the eternal truth of the exam: you look up for inspiration, down for motivation, and left/right for information
  8. at this point i'm not sure if your objective is to try and alienate as many people on here as you can, or if you're genuinely angry about this. if it's the former then good job- it's working, if it's the latter then seek professional help.
  9. if you feel like you need to take a break that's fine, but might as well leave the door open? had debates on here with folks about issues that i care about a hell of a lot more than this, real core-issue disagreement stuff, then you just move on, no point wasting your energy holding grudges on the internet.
  10. remember borrowing a mosin with the spike bayonet, that'll teach you how to deal with a long gun
  11. eh, i've fallen out with people for dumber stuff
  12. given this is the level of conversation you're putting forward can't say i blame him for not wanting to respond......
  13. mr no face- you realise that even 2 nominally identical guns taken sequentially from the production line will not perform the same right? this is correct, for the level of accuracy an airsoft gun is capable of the effects of barrel length aren't a big deal compared to the myriad other factors going on. it's not that it doesn't make a difference, it's that everything else that does make a difference is going to have a much more noticeable effect. such as mr no-face's rejection of the mk23 as an example for a short barrel being accurate- everything else that's going on inside the mk23 (fps consistency, hop setup, barrel surface quality, ammo quality etc) are easily overcoming the notionally short barrel length. whilst a longer barrel doesn't really help get more range/accuracy, if everything else is going on right it doesn't really hurt it either, granting us the freedom to choose a gun because we think it looks cool knowing it can be adjusted to be as good at lobbing bb's as anything else on the field.
  14. wow, indeed a handy feature. you planning on doing anything to her?
  15. that's surprising, i mean it's exactly how e&l barrels are attached i'm just surprised an RS works the same way. i kinda presumed given their whole "these are made in an actual ak factory" deal that it would have been fixed, although i'm happy to be wrong on that one.
  16. ooh she's a beauty. curious how the outer barrel is mounted- is it removable or is it a case of you'd have to dissassemble the hop then pull the inner out the front?
  17. well seeing as you brought it up..... better to tell the truth, lest the poor fella ends up dissapointed in his new shiny pew because of a misplaced understanding. if he knows it won't necessarily be any better but still wants it anyway because sigs are cool and the 550 is the model he likes then he can buy it and not be dissapointed. however more on topic there's a couple of points to raise: 1. plastic receiver? wouldn't be my preference, might be a bit on the weak side but if you're not treating it rough should be fine. 2. as @alxndrhll pointed out volume matching, barrel on that thing is on the longer side for a standard cylinder, probably be fine (we're not talking a 640 here....) and worst case just run a shorter inner barrel. 3. jg's internals are pretty decent given how little the gun costs, although it'll need some work if you want to get it shooting it's best but that kinda applies to anything depending on what your personal standard for acceptable performance is.
  18. so 0.78j, fair bit of headroom. worth seeing what the shot to shot fps variation is, it's the litmus test for your air seal (the ± fps number you want as low as possible) no point putting a bigger spring in there till sure that extra energy is going out the barrel.
  19. for a cyma i'd be saying more likely air seal giving low/inconsistent fps. the stock hop unit/barrel are ok, maybe switch to the usual ml macaron+omega and stuff some heavier ammo. last cyma i worked on hadn't much trouble lifting .3's at 1j after some air seal work and fixing a shoddy downgrade (where they take a biro pen clicker spring instead of an actual aeg spring) you wanna go baller then combat union.
  20. the front gap is less of an issue, if the hop is being clamped down on all sides properly it shouldn't be leaking out the front anyway. it's the nozzle-hop seal worries me, and given how the dragonuv has been performing it seems to be the main issue.
  21. Hmm ive seen that before, 1911's that happens when the sear has worn. Shouldnt be any issue rounding off that edge although it might be of limited help
  22. i too have noticed this problem, funny the dragonuv hop chamber looks identical (possibly is). couple of possible solutions- one is to move the barrel further back but that would require removing the tabs/refiling slots on the barrel which is a world of annoying problems getting everything squared up, other (which is the plan i'm gonna look into if/when i can be bothered) is a different hop rubber.
  23. Welp, knew it would be bad, went anyway, expectations exceeded

  24. As something a manufacturer could make? Not hearing anything that couldnt be done. For a one-off that isnt almost entirely 3-d printed much trickier. One thing i'm thinking here is mk23 trigger group, as that handles the feed nozzle/hammer/knocker assembly, then the bolt is just a fake to cock the hammer. Loading gate might be tricky, the easiest route would be a curved feed right up to the chamber, but that'd mean the follower would have to pass the loading gate location whilst there were still a few bb's ahead of it. A lifter could be made, but it'd add a lot of complexity just to avoid tube loading it like a henry. Edit: ironically this might be easier to do as a shell ejector- everything from the hammer forward is pretty much straight clone of the real thing and the hammer assembly is setup like (insert gas powered revolver)
