  1. why did he take it apart if he didn't think he could put it back together again? y'know what, maybe i already know the answer.....
  2. The wonderful world of soviet optics lol. Part of me wants one for the dragonuv, part of me knows its probably not going to be effective enough to really use....
  3. almost certainly more than i can afford there was a fella on here was selling a similar russian built one: edit: see @airsoftshooter123's post about this ad being a polish build the hard sell for me is justifying that kind of cash on a gen 1 unit, no matter how much steampunk awesomeness is involved.
  4. fair enough, tbh recoil guns isn't something i've ever placed that much thought into. my jg was nominally a "recoil" but the first thing i did was remove the mech.
  5. i know you're talking m4's but i bumped into a bolt recoil aksu in the wild last sunday. damn it was a fine looking peice, as far as i'm aware they're an absolute bastard to work on but i'd place good money on the body being an e&l oem.
  6. nah, it's still used by people too poor to afford zenitco (ie me ) i still view m4 stocks as heresy, but dragging an ak through the zenit catalogue can be good. tbh if money wasn't an object i'd probably be going big time into siderail optics, but there's not many decent airsoft repros of the more eclectic stuff.
  7. the general rule is if it doesn't fit then make it fit. ak's tend to be a lot more hands on when it comes to this kind of modding than the likes of ar's. thing is most folks wanting the more premium ak's tend to want the nice blued reciever hence having to get the pricier guns to begin with. the only thing to mention is it looks like the 710 is using a custom gas block? i considered one myself although ended up going classic with an akm.
  8. you'd better not be talking about the ak

  10. It was indeed what i was aiming at. Very rarely see a g36 thats not a poorly kept rental gun. Its weird, because the other big candidate is the cyma ak but it hasnt been tarred like the g36 has
  11. i think the mp5 is the reason the ump isnt popular, i mean hk can't even convince people to buy the ump over the mp5. that's a fair point, they do appear but tend to not be so common, despite being arguably as iconic and well recognised as the m4.
  12. tbf the price might not be so bad with all the bits included? the gun looks to be £550 out the gate and gbbr mags aint cheap. that said, gonna need more than a single pic for someone to be willing to part with that kind of moolah.
  13. avenger sells a lot of guns like that, the running theory being he's basically acting as a shop. it's been discussed a few times but the consensus is it's within the rules.
  14. this is absolutely true, there's plastic and there's cheese same as there's aluminium and chinesium plus afaik hasnt the whole g36 wandering zero thing been put down to "yeah but not really any worse than any other gun"?
  15. very good shout that, i guess maybe proprietary magazines are putting people off? but then that doesn't stop the users of [anything that's not an m4 or ak] of this world..... only person i know who fields one was the ex-tech at my local shop, i guess maybe folks just see it as a scar impersonator? you see the whole "it's plastic so its shit" argument levied against guns like the f2000 too, i don't get it personally. don't get me wrong i love me a gun made of proper materials but if it's based on a gun that's mostly plastic then what's wrong with that? even more ironic that the people complaining about it are probably still buy glocks......
  16. figured this might be a fun little topic to entertain us while we're sitting wishing we could go shooting. we're all aware of guns that are popular for various reasons, and we're all aware of guns that are unpopular due to looks, rarity, proprietary parts or poor performance/bad manufacturers. but what guns do we think are under-appreciated in airsoft? something that's seldom seen for no good reason? why do you think it should be more popular? i'll start off with the dragonuv, it's not the rarest gun out there and you do see them popping up in the wild occasionally, but as DMR type platforms go it's nowhere near as common as your long barreled m4's, m14's, sr25's etc. thing is, it's a svelt gun, you can take the style wherever you want from a classic wooden 50's look right up to completely modernised. aftermarket parts may be limited but they are available (particularly combat union hops) and there are versions to suit any pocket (anything from cyma to WE to real sword). a close second goes to the g36, although at least this one it's rarity is easily explained by its popularity as a rental gun putting people off the platform.
  17. i'm not sure how i feel about this project. the last thing we want is for people to see a novritsch logo on a gun that actually works
  18. Well today was a hell of a shoot, some real good gameplay and the ak was shootin lovely all day. Glad of it too, back into lockdown next week so no shooting for a while
  19. i concur, looks to be a fair price and the gun looks in pretty decent nick.
  20. In fairness its averaging out to £40 per gat and he's at least being honest about them being ex rentals.
  21. considering he's still able to make a baguette look like an offensive weapon i think he can wear his medals however the hell he likes. i'm assuming the insignia only narrows things down to idf, which is presumably what the camo pattern will be doing anyway. i've run with country flags on kit that i bought surplus and happened to still have them on (union flag on dpm and german flag on flecktarn) it's when it gets down to specific units that i'd start to consider it an issue.
  22. i'm with tackle on this, recreation loadouts and kit are just fine as long as it's sticking to just the equipment. once you start adding specific patches it becomes an issue. the exception is historical instances where it's patently obvious you're not pretending to have actually served in a given unit, for example ww2 re-enactment. although again my preference would be to forgo the insignia in deference to the people who actually put their lives on the line.
