  1. did you leave the gun/mags outside for a while before testing? cos they need a while to cool down before the cold really takes effect.
  2. it'll be a WE sig 228 best thing to do would be to fire an ad up on the classifieds here, should be able to find a buyer at that price.
  3. Not me, i wanna say rogerborg? Fair enough, in that case duck's advice is spot on- that rate of fire is way too fast. Your risking serious reliability problems while still not keeping up with the hpa hoses.
  4. Yeah, i'm thinking somewhere even crazier, i'm not massively clued up on different fps rules for different countries but i know some places it's a case of whatever you can get the gun to do without breaking.
  5. Man i need to brush up on my motor knowledge, i didnt twig that was a high speed. Feels like english isnt this guys first language i wonder if he's somewhere with mad fps limits where 45rps is feasable without pme?
  6. semi is going to be putting a lot more load on the motor per-round than auto. the locking up could be a bunch of things, but as you found pulling the trigger for more than a second on a stalled motor is a very bad idea- good thing you still had the fuse installed. i have a sneaking suspicion that the shimming might be tight, remember when shimming to test everything spins freely with the gearbox bolted down- that tiny bit of compression compared to holding the shells together by hand can add a lot of unnessecary load.
  7. all boils down to the quality of the print. if it's the low density pla that so much of this stuff seems to be then no i wouldn't trust it an inch if it's decent high density nylon then it could be surprisingly tough.
  8. oh absolutely for rifles even the cheap red dots without any real parallax correction have a lot of utility. it's especially useful that you can keep both eyes open and on target and just move the gun in front of your eyes without any shift in focus required. of course as you say decent parallax on a dot just makes the whole process easier and faster. the argument for pistols isn't that the dot can't be used to make quick shots once you see it, it's that getting the pistol lined up to find the dot in the first place loses a lot of the time that you'd be saving on a rifle.
  9. hmm, maybe a point there. a mate of mine has one i'll maybe steal it when we get let back out see if i like the system. funny i'm not keen on the altyn's for the same reason you're saying- they seem kinda uncomfortable for airsoft. i normally just go baseball cap, or ushanka when it's cold enough, not really a big helmet wearer. yeah, i'm kind of open-planning this so whilst money is a consideration it's a case of if dual tubes are a big improvement then i'll put the time in to save up, or maybe get single and see how i like it. nv seems to be pretty rare at the sites i play at, so it's mostly a case of any usable passive system is gonna be a big step up in night-time sneakyness.
  10. Yeah i'm thinking off the shelf is gonna be the safest option. Gonna have to do some research on mounts and decide if i wanna go for one or two tubes. Plan is its gonna be used with a 1p67 which supposedly is quite usable with nv.
  11. hmm, i do have access to a vacuum chamber in work although nitrogen might be trickier. helmet is defo a double whammy decision as whilst i tend not to wear one, not smashing your head into tree branches at night is a definite plus.
  12. Tbh i'm not sure on secondhand, isnt tube aging an issue? My aim is practicality so modern would be the preference, if i want to go old school i can just stick the atn on the dragonuv and accept being blinded by passing clouds. Whilst i'm ok at what passes in aeg's for wiring i'm not sure i'd be up to snuff doing things like swapping tubes etc. The pn21k does look the part, bit more in the ballpark of not being more expensive than my car. I'm thinking a decent 6b47 repro is going to be preferable to the fabric head mounts, are the mounting arms/brackets universal?
  13. Kinda fitting this gets posted in the middle of the night. Needless to say this is what happens when you're bored on a lockdown new years night watching random airsoft videos. Basically i'm thinking maybe i should set myself a goal for 2021 of getting myself some proper night vision. I've had for a while an atn gen1+ scope which whilst it technically works, leaves you scanning the night through a drinking straw while from the outside the red glow from the illuminator has been fittingly described as a cylon eye. Also makes you appreciate how much you rely on being able to see where your shots are going. Its ok for sitting in an ambush position with a gun you can reasonably trust to hold zero (yes yes a laughable statement in airsoft terms) but worse than useless for any kind of terrain navigation as it kills your natural night vision meaning you gotta use a torch. Only problem is i'm not sure where i should be looking or what i should be looking for. I've heard it oft-mentioned that gen2 is considered the minimum standard for passive use. So with no particular goal in mind what should i be thinking about? Is it worth saving up a big chunk and splashing on gen 3? Would a pair of cheaper units be better than a higher end single? Given i'm a fan of russian stuff is there anything passable available from them? (Most of my knowledge on russian nv is the various rifle scopes rather than headmount)
  14. Yesss come to the dark side Our masks and respirators are infinitely cooler for a start
  15. Usual 60% of retail. It would certainly help the advert if you mentioned where you got them from in case people are worried about fakes. If its from a decent source i cant see them being hard to shift as bolle are a decent brand. Of course as with all airsoft eye pro the onlyway to be sure that what your using is safe is to get your local kickingmustang to pop a round at them point-blank.
  16. Same, lockdown has not done good things to me gut. Hoping covid starts winding down before summer, was messing with the dragonuv the other day and realised how much i missed using it.
  17. think shamal has it, they're both "generic m4" at least in terms of parts compatibility so just pick whichever one you like more.
  18. hmmm, kwc magazine valves seem hard to find.....

Knocker valve for their blowback makarov.

Was trying to figure out why mine kept leaking and realised it had somehow caved in at the front.

Figured if imma try and sell it better to have it as working (well, "worked last time i tried to fire it")

Only place ive found even has it listed is begadi and its out of stock :(

would a WE makarov part fit? granted I know feck all about makarovs but might be something to consider if possible

      Nah, totally different mechs.

The kwc is basically a 4.5mm co2 airgun conversion which normally comes stupid hot out of the box (mine was downgraded by the forum member i bought it off). Its not even the same as other kwc valves (particularly the 1911 which is the only kwc valve you can find easily)

Only bought it as a winter gun to stand in for the WE.

  19. yeah that does make figuring things out a lot easier.
  20. is it still blowing all the way back? or is it short-stroking then getting caught because it's halfway through the cycle? also is the gun new-ish or has it been around a bit? i've seen 1911's with worn trigger sears catch on the hammer as the hammer is sitting further up than it normally should.
  21. thing is it's the buyers perspective. it's what people see when they look at that ad. for example i'll walk you through my thought process as i look at that ad: it's an evo, a gun that is known to be a pretty high standard out of the box and in a lot of cases people who attempt to "upgrade" the base tend to end up making it a lot worse. so the first question is what bits are in it? are they better than standard? well i don't know because it doesnt say in the ad. the next question is have the parts been assembled correctly? well that comes down to the skill of the tech, as there's no big name drop of a professional tech (eg if you'd paid someone like negative airsoft or the like to do the work) then the assumption is that you've done the work yourself. so how can i assess your personal competence as a tech? well i haven't got much to go on as i don't know you personally or your reputation. so the only thing i can really go on is the ad itself. of course as i mentioned, if the effort hasn't been put into the ad then it begs the question has the effort been put into the gun? and with a lack of information it's just human nature to assume the worst. this isn't meant to be insulting btw, this is meant to be constructive criticism, to point out where people who might otherwise be very interested in buying might change their minds and decide that maybe grabbing a brand new gun that comes with a warranty and they know will perform to a given standard is the safer option.
  22. Its easier to write the details out and send them to every interested person who messages you than to write them out once in the ad? Cant say i'm seeing the logic. As for listing in different places, well if you cant be bothered tailoring the ad to a particular site that isnt going instill confidence in a prospective buyer that you didnt take the same apathy towards fitting the upgrades.
  23. That is a fair point, maybe put this down as a lower mid range dream? So he wants folk to contemplate skipping the known high performing quantity that is a standard evo for one with upgrades that may or may not have actually improved the gun without listing what said upgrades are?
  24. Iirc isnt the mp5 trigger extended compared to standard m4? If its the same pattern i'm thinking of it wont fit. Thing is the mp5 i was working on was a horrific mish mash but pretty sure the shell was cyma
  25. Might not be the most help but if its the selector plate style i'm thinking off (using the gearbox hole that's the small body pin on an m4) then its an absolute bastard to get in the right position. I'd love to tell you how to sort it but last time i worked on it i'm pretty sure it took about 100 attempts followed by immediately blanking the whole experience from memory.
