Missed this. Tried turning the scope a touch? If the scope isn't perfect vertical to the rifle you'll get that and pull the rifle apart in the process trying to get it even more square than a square thing, all down to a scope slightly leaning. I naturally lean the scope into me so am constantly adjusting to vertical.

I tend to only buy Geoffs Super Precisions, they're the only BB I've never questioned and always perform on point for me.

Saying that, this week the .32's were out of stock so I've bought 2Kg of Warhead 32s as they're meant to be "about as good" and they only costed me the same as 1Kg of Geoffs did. Not looking to make a move over but hoping for a good stand in.

You're still a "a little bittle kid" in the eyes of the law even though you likely have some fluff on your top lip now.

Also a point to consider - if you live in your dads house, you need to live by his rules, he may have his own prejudices against it regardless to the legalities.

Take him to a skirmish for the day, bit of bonding, you never know he may get the bug and then you'll have all the guns you want.

As a father to a teenager I second that - the boy and I have our own distinct loadouts.  Looking forward to him coming home in June so I can shoot the crap out of him again:

We have (I like to think) a pretty solid relationship as a result of spending Airsoft days together.  I certainly know him better than he thinks I do.

The boy also has some school friends who's mum was into Airsoft - her and her partner's loadout's were pretty awesome.  We had some fun gameday's as a group.

However, your dad may have genuine reasons for being apprehensive - I was at first TBH.  It's not just the financial cost of owning a gun.  My brother and his missus are completely against guns of any kind for example so my nephew would have had no chance if he wanted Airsoft as a hobby.  It's part of what sucks to be a kid.  You have to respect the boundaries your parents put in place.

Of course I am giving the OP the benefit of the doubt that this isn't a wind up thread.

Absolutely not, it's impossible. Your gun knows you don't have a license so the paint just drips right off like water off a ducks back!

Steveocee got a reaction from Wegalaxy in vorsk hammer de cocking issues
It's fine, just let it go. The only thing I can imagine is on your original hammer the half cocked ramp had worn down a bit and this isn't the case on the new hammer and/or they were a little "rough" with your sear spring and gave it some more pressure.

Either way, it'll be absolutely fine just pulling the trigger and letting the hammer go on it's own. The hammer impacts the knocker which is spring loaded, we're talking about the tiniest amount of wear/impact to the hammer ever. It'll take it a million times (well maybe not if it's Vorsk) before it breaks.

Just remember - there is no firing pin, there is no "chamber" it's an airsoft toy, normal gun physics and logic don't apply as much.

Steveocee got a reaction from Pseudotectonic in A Call for Revolution: Supercapacitors in Airsoft
Had a read through as "back in the day" I used to work in car audio and there was occasionally the ask for a "power cap" from some of the boy racers, they liked the LED flashing lights and display on them.

Back then it was always the answer of - ok-ish if you want something very quick and wasn't too hard on the draw, otherwise if your bass note dropped low and stayed there, it was additional strain on your battery trying to supply the amp and the cap simultaneously.

In the given examples, I would imagine that semi response I guess "should" be likened to a paced tight beat but I would imagine a long pull on auto would be like dropping low for a few seconds (so not advised?)

    Good read. Thank you.

No it doesn't. The sear you remove is what allows the manual cock function.

Steveocee got a reaction from Tommikka in Need buying advice on a regulator
A paintball tank will hold either 3000 or 4500 psi, the reg on the tank takes an input of up to 4500 and outputs at 800. You then attach an "airsoft" regulator on top of that which is input 800 and output variable 0-200.

Airtac have just rebranded the Oxygen/Balystik reg's so that would be a good starting place as generally they are pretty solid. If you wanted something better than Wolverine do the Storm Cat5, Polarstar do the MRS micro and Redline (my personal favourite) do the SFR Mini. All are solid choices and you'll find lots of happy users all willing to bitch about the others.

If your rifle is a "green gas" rifle then the max pressure for green is about 120psi but that's usually on a Texan day in summer, in the uk we're lucky to reach 100psi on it so absolutely start the reg at 100psi but try not to go past 120. If they reckon do 100 for some recoil then adjust NPAS for FPS then go with that.

Tippmann gives a false representation of the airsoft HPA world as they lean on the paintball arm of the business so a lot of people come over thinking 800psi is the norm. It really isn't.

WE mags will work however you probably won't get quite as good performance out of them. I have and occasionally use a WE extended mag in mine (as the TM extended is expensive and the parts are crap). I grabbed a WE and swapped out the feed lips, follower and router and it's been great.

The TM MK23 is probably the best fit for you. They "can" be upgraded to do some pretty mental stuff but a stock TM Mk23 is very quiet and will happily flick a 28 at least 30 metres without any fuss.

When you start looking at clones, STTi, ASG and Novi - They are that, a "clone" and for the most part, genuinely all the same gun. I wouldn't brand Novi stuff as "bad" more that it's sold as "ready" out the box and people get miffed if they need to do anything, he sells box loads so there will always be bad feedback flying around compared to those qho quietly buy an STTi for £40 and expect a long build up.

I'v personally had 3 STTi's, an ASG and have finally settled on a TM. I've done some mods, Hadron TDC, flamingo bucking, SBA suppressor and removed the 2 stage sear and I'm very happy with it as it is ultimately "just" a sidearm backup pistol.

Go Outdoors do them - about £10 - pointless though as propane will kill your seals unless you lube religiously.

Good luck, you crack open a perfectly fine ARP9 to install those bits, unless done by a really good tech you'll have months of issues and ultimately end up replacing it. Even then, a good tech will advise against most of them.

Those parts are shiny to attract the unsuspecting youth magpies.
Heres actually a better idea - get him a polarstar jack and HPA setup.

Power will be adjustable, ROF will be crazy if it's tuned by even a simpleton, has the cool HPA factor and will be a lot more reliable than a teenagers pick list of shiny bits.
