I’ve gone full circle, simple kit —> all the kit —> simple kit!

No messing about, just a rifle, magazines and some bangs! Cheap(ish) and cheerful!

This is like a reenactment of the world's longest dick measuring contest, with the usual spats over top-or-bottom, shaft-vs-balls.

Incidentally, none of these rules/guidelines appear to be listed on the Guinness site. https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/96291-longest-airsoft-target-shot

This is my planned loadout for Sunday.

Nice and simple, Arktis chest rig with my magazines, Safariland for the Glock. Will be the first run out of my NGRS Mk18 too!

Only things I might add are some belt mounted pistol pouches and an LBX sling if it arrives in time.

So for those that dont know im an armoursmith/ blacksmith and ive decided to take on a gun project using these skills. Specifically the ultimax 100 mk 5 because I love the ultimax but Id also like to be able to use my regular m4 mags and that version has a magwell.  Made a mockup so far. A v3 gearbox sits about perfect in this but on the real one the upper and lower recievers are welded together. If I did this Id never be able to get the gearbox out.

Im probably gonna try to make it in a way that means the rear end cap can come off and the recievers can come apart. One of the main reasons I chose this gun is because its basically just 90 degree boxes for most of the reciever. Ill probably just be brazing on other pieces of metal for all those details on the side of it. Evetything else will be hammered out of 2-3mm steel. I will probably also be getting a friend to 3d print some of the brackets and internal parts for the barrel and hop. Should be a fun project.

I'd respond with "you've got real nails, eyebrows, hair skin colour etc, so why do you want pretend ones?"

Watch those eyes of hers scan to the left or right in search of a justification.. To make her happy perhaps? Well funnily enough airsoft makes you happy.

    Good luck.

I spend all my working days with L85s and 22s in front of me and it took a few minutes of looking at certain details to convince myself the gun wasn't real.

I am using Magpulls on my M4 mags but also plan to try stuffing a chunk of pipe lagging in the bottom to raise them up a bit (also allows me to place empty mags “feed lips up” so I don’t grab them by mistake!)

Jacob Wright got a reaction from SSPKali in Chest Rig Recommendations
The only thing I found with these rigs is that the M4 magazines tend to sit quite low down in the pouch, which can make getting them out in a hurry difficult unless you’ve got ranger loops or Magpul’s on them.

This thread gave me the kick I needed to get an SADF M83 chest rig. Probably one of the best purchases I have made!

Can take M4 or AK74 mags easily, side pockets fit my timed and impact BFGs and the skinny pen pocket takes the reloading tool. Throw a tin of primers in the tiny pocket and I am set!

Even with 6 (!) TM M4 gas mags and 2 BFGs it is comfortable with no hot-spots on the straps. My Viper Spiritus clone is ok with 3 mags in but add any more and after a while it starts to kill my shoulders. I will be keeping that for CQB and short games; for woodland / OPFOR / and long games the M83 will be the go-to 👍

I will be adding some Velcro OneWrap to the strap ends to tidy them up and might add an elastic section to the waist strap (along with cordura “concertina” cover) to allow for pie intake 😂🍔

In my experience at this sort of game, less is more.

If you’re on a ‘raid’ with the world packed on your back you’ll start to feel it and probably won’t take long to regret it!

Most events tend to have an area where teams can drop sleeping/cooking/spare gear. This will save you having to try and carry it round with you all day.

    Ive really cut down on what I carry, and have got it down to the following;
    - Primary magazines (4-6)
    - Grenades (Mixture of smoke and bang)
    - Radio
    - Secondary magazine (if sidearm carried)
    - Water and a couple of cereal bars
    - Map

It was only through time I discovered most of the stuff I carried on me, or even took with me to the event wasn’t used. I tend to leave a spare gun in the car, with its magazines etc.

That said, see what works for you! The event looks interesting and I’d love to go but I’m training that weekend! Have fun!

Yes it is, Andy has run a number of game weekends, this being number 4. I am buzzing for this.

As such I have a small update for this thread.... my kit list! unpacked and packed pictures.
The packing process its self was a touch frustrating i had planned on just the assult pack grab bag and rifle slip case. That didn't happen. My first priority was to get the kit to site, knowing that i would be repacking on the Friday night with loadout in mind. So for a start the kit list i broke it down into the following
    Camping
Hammock tarp sleeping bag microfibre towel (to act as underquilt) Loadout
rig  grab bag med kit - battle belt with vintage pouchs  - bandage - (safety) scissors medic patch (yes a special metion, i think i have a weakness for patches....) watch  'gas' mask eye pro & spare + accessories gloves Weapons and ammo
m4 + mags shotgun + shells & bandollier actual ammo (3 bottles, just to be sure) smokes (distractions and 'posion' gas) & bangs speed loaders
    Clothes
key points of extra layers - hats and such like and more spares in case of rain Food kit & food (work in progress)
a VX coffee filter ....yes really coffee  well, lets just say i plan on snacks throughout the day with two hot meals (raman)
    Wash kit
kept really simple  teeth stuff and wet wipes.... Misc
notebook + small pencils  bin liners  I accepted that i needed an extra bag so the brown one will be my fob bag and the assult pack will have snacks and stuff.

I just need to get the three bags to london waterloo from east london, then on to fleet where the last supply run happens before hitting the site.
Given the amount i know some are taking i think i have done well...

There was a last minute info drop with some fun rolling objectives. i am buzzing....

Took my final delivery of ZenitCo bits from Russian this morning, small amount of filing on the mock gas tube and dishes are done.

Taken months to get it all together, but I love this angry little bastard.

The plan is that we do get a FOB, i still have to hump gear to the fob.
Where i have taken medic role i also need to carry my share of bandages and the load carrying for the bandages. I think my load out is as light as i can get it but it is the extra, the clothes, sleep system and food that are bulking.
It might be that i gain a fob bag to carry which would contain safe to leave gear, again with the repack on the friday.

A big part if the issue lies in my use of public transport to get (most of the way) to site.

you need to be using a tool like a lathe to finish the end of the barrel.

you'd be as well buying a new, shorter, inner barrel rather than trying to cut.
