  1. Sounds like they might have been better going with one hi-cap for all and no reloading. You'd think people wanting to attend something like that could at least manage to just buy 40rnd mags.
  2. I'd be playing airsoft, but I live with ppl over 65 so it's not really possible. Very sad.

Do you determine your ability to do other activities based on the age of the people you live with?  If you're providing 24/7 care or something, I get that but just wondering how you came to this conclusion.

It sounds like hes making the decision not to play to minimise contact with others due to the vulnerable nature of what I am assuming are his folks.

Right now bud we all have to do whatever is needed to keep ourselves and our family safe. I understand your frustrations but ultimately its for the best.

Ah yeah.  I hadn't considered that.  Sometimes I completely forget about C-19.

  3. Or alternatively charging more and having less players. Approved player only games were always the best ones I went to. It wasn't that anyone, that I know of, was rejected it's just that everyone either knew everyone or everyonce one person (who was present) removed.
  4. Serial lurker. Haven't been able to play locally last 18 months due to illness and then covid hit and I live with ppl in their 60s. So no soft for a long time now methinks. Well if it hits your lower mesh it's going to go through it... same with mesh eye pro. Unlikely to be at a velocity that is dangerous however impurities or dirt in the projectile could be carried through. I know they use mesh in AUS but there is a huge difference between being hit by a projectile you expect and one that you've not prepared for. Like Nerf I suspect that these would be compatible with airsoft sites but not necessarily players without explicit consent. Although what you wrote here is interesting, they are definitely IFs and RIFs. An IF can be solid wood... My point was that the sellers that I found here are deliberately avoiding the truth. I wasn't able to find any seller of the blasters in the calibre of quality used in AUS though.
  5. Has anyone experience with these 'blasters'? In the UK. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gel_ball_shooter Within the English speaking world they seem to be most popular in Australia. They fire the gel beads you find in garden centres that are typically 7-8mm and 98% water. Supposedly they can use magnus effect and youtube has plenty of gameplay videos. I was musing that the frangible ammo that these fire might be more fun than nerf with children for prone target shooting in the garden. The most interesting thing I found out in this country is that surprise suprise retailers claim they're not IF and amazon still sells RIFS. So far most of those I've found for sale in the UK are equivelant to a justbbguns special. In AUS they're as expensive as airsoft or paintball. From what I can discern they fire at about 0.6J stock and their common 7-8mm ammo weights are .17g though .24g. Internally they're airsoft. https://youtu.be/HAqjwgPxMfw?t=261
  6. Batteries. I bought three to get back into the hobby, one had a manufacturing flaw and did not fit into the gun it's marketed for, and now the other is dead after ~10 rounds. My last is a different voltage.

ASG branded. @Jedi_Master my dad is a retired engineer, he's diagnosed the problem already. :)

So far patrol base are responding positively. :)

  7. Where did you order this from? I've been looking to pick one up. I found one for sale (via the bingo airsoft site) but the sites it linked to required registration to read the postage costs. I feel sad buying a £60 speed loader and then needing a £40 adaptor though.
  8. Hope you didn't spend too many hours seconds working on it.
  9. A few weeks back I was lightly chewed out for for a 4m necro post. I thought I'd preempt that when choosing to post in the most constructive land warrior thread I could find, which was also the most recent one. As misterG has now noticed (I did not set out to create intrigue), all that's happening is that I posted the second line in a white font so that I could be acknowledging the necro but only anyone that might criticise me for it (by quoting) would actually notice it. I had no idea that it would appear in black somewhere else.
  10. Ah, I see. I guess it's time to summon the admin and complain that it's not showing up the post correctly on the activity page. Difficulty to stay coy here without being obnoxious (I hope you appreciate the humour when you figure it out), I would suggest you look more closely (by highlight or quote) at my post. And then go to land warrior and admire the goodies. My favourite airsoft store by a long margin.
  11. ASG battery designed for scopion evo arrived today. It went in tightly, on the way out the ejection port cover sheered into the battery and exposed it's insides.

Now I have to deal with patrolbase returns (previously a positive experience) as an unsuitable product. The last one I had needed electrical tape because it was too loose.

  12. My post has not been edited since original submission, why do you ask?
  13. Just noticed a sale on 10% off for next 7 days. How long before someone call's on the necro?
  14. Ordered on the 10th, shipped on the 12th, arrived in UK on 13th.

Now 23rd and "Your parcel is being held in our delivery depot awaiting payment of customs charges. The addressee is being sent a letter outlining the charges and how to pay."

Slow asses have had the parcel 10 days and I've still not had opportunity to pay.

Remember as soon as it turns up at your local depot you can ring them and pay it over the phone. You do not need the letter - just the tracking number and a credit/debit card.

Oh thanks for this, I tried calling them earlier and the automatic message said something contrary, I'll give it another go.

  15. My usual goggles are smith optics... I assure you I'm safety orientated.
  16. Anyone know the OEM of these? https://novritsch.com/product/safetly-glass/
  17. Facebook page for my local airsoft site talking about UKARA Licences...

  18. I'm happy to do the measurement (though unclear on what - the webbing itself?), but I don't understand how the pictures I linked are less useful.
  19. http://www.flyyeindustries.com/ArticleShow.asp?ProdID=0643 This is the one I have. I don't know of any information other than that listed here. As you can see the belt is very long, I weaved it back through the battlebelt to reduce the excess at the front.
  20. It would not be 'illegal' for you to buy the black part, only against that law if you were to fit it to the gun without a defence. If someone else with (or without depending upon how you read greater firearms law) a defence put it back together you would be in the clear - so long as there was no quid pro quo (exchange). Else every time I take my TM G17 slide off I'd be manufacturing a RIF to put it back together and that would be silly.
  21. There is no grey area. This is not true. Substantially not true. I don't mean to be rude, but not only is this also not true but its very misleading, if you purchase a RIF, you are only able to convert it (relevantly speaking from IF to RIF in terms of manufacturing a RIF) if you are 'still' eligible to purchase a RIF. If I buy a RIF when I am eligible, and if I at some point become ineligible (widely accepted to mean having not played a any insured UK airsoft site for a period of 12 months) I would lose my eligibility to also modify that article or any other article (a'la manufacturing a RIF) until my eligibility to purchase was restored. This is still true of an IF - buying (or eligibility to) a RIF doesn't give you carte blanche to convert your old IFs into RIFs. And in fact manufacturing is a far more dangerous offence than sale because sale places onus on retailers, whereas manufacturing attacks the little guy. If a person is eligible to purchase a RIF, they are eligible to "manufacture a RIF". This is not grey, it's black and white. In fact, they are eligible to manufacture a RIF from parts they do not own - on behalf (if acting without remuneration/contract) of a person ineligible to do the same. I repeat, there is no grey area. /notatroll
