Novritsch Aug
gavinkempsell and one other reacted to MrTea for a topic
The way you have to release pre-cocking is a bit of a hassle if i'm understanding it correctly. If you're in a CQB field, you'll have the full auto disabled so you'd have to re-enable it, fire then disable auto again. The setup is restricted due to the trigger and lack of selector but they've likely got it set up the best way they could. I'm hoping this announcement will spur a few people into listing their AUGs for sale and I can pick a upgraded one up on the cheap.2 points -

Noob air seal question
Rogerborg and one other reacted to The_Lord_Poncho for a topic
Yes, some tighter than others. I've had both extremes - a very tight fit (eased with a bit of silicone oil), and very loose fit (rectified with a few wraps of PTFE tape). If you are needing force to seat yours in this case, after you have finished wrestling with it take care that the barrel hasn't got twisted within the hop (and therefore that the nub remains directly seated above the bucking patch).2 points -

Apply a bit of pressure , it should slip in between the front of the hop unit and barrel, helps to keep the barrel tight to the hop unit2 points -
I was concerned that I might have the same issue until I had my BP checked at the docs and they used the EXACT SAME machine I have at home. So that's nice.2 points

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, admins if you can put in in the correct place and not delete. Scammer active on another forum so heads up. He goes by Tom Andrews on the forum but emails come from Dean Greenfield. I unfortunately encountered him on Usedairsoft selling 'airsoft joblot' with loads of AEG parts, claiming it was his dead brothers. He's also advertising a 'Airsoft KWA LM4 UKSF L119A2 Build Gas Blow Back Gbbr Package'. Contact was good with emails coming from Dean Greenfield, this should have been my first warning, but then nothing once I had sent payment through PayPal, this was my second warning as the PayPal address was a Michael Thomas. This is where it gets more confusing. Michael Thomas had allowed Tom Andrews to use his PayPal account and transferred the money straight out and into his wife's/girlfriend's account (or so I can figure out), stupid on Michaels side and he also got scammed. After no contact from Tom Andrews/Dean Greenfield after sending payment, I used the contact through PayPal to send him a message, that's when Michael Thomas got in touch and told me about the situation and that there was a third person also been scammed. Conversations have gone back and forth, and to cut a long, confusing story short, Michael Thomas has issued me a PayPal refund and he and his fried are trying to get back their money from Tom Andrews/Dean Greenfield. Michael has reported him to the police and there is an incident number if you feel you have been scammed by him and need it. Here's the info I have on this scammer: Tom Andrews/Dean Greenfield Steyning, West Sussex, GB. 07349041575. [email protected] Yet another bad seed for the airsoft community, but after 20 years of using forums, it doesn't surprise me. Stay safe and always use PayPal but NEVER friend or family!1 point

To prey on people's sympathies claiming to be a grieving sibling takes a special kind of scumbag. It's a shame we have to be even more vigilant.1 point

Heads up @SAW, most of your post is in black font, which is hard to read when a user is using the forums dark mode skin. I think if you remove all formatting this'll correct it for all forum skins.1 point

Noob air seal question
Rogerborg reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
If there is a very slight leak, that is probably normal as the sealing of the ends may not be perfect. With the gun assembled and the nozzle fully forward, shine a light up the BB feed tube and look down the barrel; if you can see a ring of light, the nozzle is not sealing in the hop lips.1 point -
Novritsch Aug
JinxDuh reacted to pyromancer6 for a topic
If this finally gives us a good AUG midcap that isn't unobtanium that'd be incredible. Rumours of it having the excellent Begadi hop unit or a licenced version/clone of it are hopefully true too + it'd be nice to finally have some spare part support for AUGs as snow wolf/tm stuff is kind of a pain in the ass to get ahold of (still can't find a barrel release button that fell off my mate's one when I was using it)1 point -

I reckon old Monty would be right at home in a ghillie, laying in wait for the fool who steps on his hydrangeas. Don by name...1 point -
This aged like fine wine. Receivers (yes, both) are badly bent, I knew there was something off but didn't pay too much attention until yesterday night. Upper is not compatible with other brands as it's 3/4mm longer. Buying a replacement from King Arms is ludicrously expensive because of postage and import fees (€70+, not even counting the price of the receiver set itself) which makes it cheaper to just buy a new gun. At this point there is a whole new gun I'm looking at.... Stay tuned for more OCD autism1 point

Pulled it apart, the pistol grip screws were a real pain and seemingly made of cheese - so they're getting replaced - TM crushed/broke a couple of O rings when they put mine together, so am now awaiting replacements before I put it together again with some additional PTFE tape on the inlet valve for good measure. Fingers crossed that'll fix the issue.1 point

Probs best off sticking with Gardeners World. I jest of course (although Monty Don is hard to stop watching). Does it get better? Yes, in the sense that the character development works quite well for what it is - light entertainment in an "America, FUCK YEAH" style. If you're expecting anything much beyond that then no, you'll be disappointed. I like it, but then I'm happy to switch my brain off in front of the TV from time to time (apart from when they show someone looking through a red dot and overlaying a sniper reticule, that really gets me going).1 point -

This is an ARES L1A1 SLR. I bought this new a few years ago for about £600 but sadly due to my health I have never been able to take it on a skirmish. As such it is in fantastic condition and has only been fired a handful of times. The insides are completely stock, whilst the top cover has been replaced for a cover with 20mm rail for scopes. It is easy enough to swap this back to the stock cover, this is included. Also included are 4 additional magazines, and a genuine British Falklands era sling. I am also happy to throw in a genuine L1A1 magazine and L1A1 Falklands cleaning kit if they interested you. Any questions, please feel free to ask. Seeing in person and pickup (Huddersfield) are preferred, but I am happy to post UK too.£400

This sounds familiar, hasn't there been a scam alert for this individual before?1 point -
I believe they're mostly multi-mode and therefore you can turn off the muzzle flash if you want, I certainly can with the bifrost - along with sniper mode that'll also illuminate 1 in 4 shots or something like that. You'll find most of AceTech's stuff revolves around a couple of their tracer units and the real differences are just in the looks, I got mine because I liked the look of it and the muzzle flash is just a bit of fun - sometimes it's on, sometimes it's off. If you want something small I also have a Xcortech XT301 mk2 which I use on my pistol.1 point

It took a while to get me back to the bunker. It was a collection of little things that put me off, lots of shouting, pushing the game too hard, marshals stripping people of any kind of stealth tactics by walking up behind them and shouting "move, move, come on lets push forward", which is all well and good until you're wielding a single pistol and there are 8 opposition players around the corner with rifles and lovely little camping areas, waiting to pepper the life out of you. It started to seem as though there was an element of clique-ness and there were becoming rumours that certain people were managing to skip chrono, resulting in hot RIFs on the field, which isn't particularly fun in such a close quarters environment. I might add that I'd never experienced a hit from anything that felt like a hot gun, and the chrono issue may have been only rumours, but with everything building a gloomy picture of the place I decided to take time away from it. I had an experience where I had a few duff flash-bangs from their onsite shop, not a big issue. I had a quick chat with one of the staff, to let them know more than anything, he decided it was much more appropriate to call me out in front of everyone, telling me I had no idea how to strike a fuse and that there was nothing wrong with them, despite the fact that they were all damp from storage. It irritated me, because I'd always recommended them as a site to visit, we'd played regularly on an almost weekly basis at one point. The flash-bang incident was the icing on the cake. Going in last night the atmosphere was much different, it was calm, the marshals were respectable, visible and in the right places at the right time, the briefing was prompt and to-the-point and the game play was well managed. I felt like the night was for the players, like it once used to be, really enjoyed myself. Even if you only go once, it's worth a game for sure. As for Valiant, that one is on my list of "places to visit". I did the Vendetta site in Gloucester and absolutely loved it, a number of our team have done Valiant already and they loved that too!1 point
