sonofsammo
I've been running an SRS for a while now and am sat bored to tears in lockdown, wondering what to do with myself. So I'm wondering about building a second sniper, that's predominantly lightweight, but still capable of reaching out and touching someone at a decent range. I suppose main priorities would be low weight, low noise and decent range. Any suggestions or pertinent advice would be most welcome. TIA 😄
Lokai
My JG Bar 10 is extremely light (less than an arp-9) if you like the vsr design and obviously an ideal base to upgrade.
Asomodai
Well MB02. Short, but the ideal length to lift some heavy ammo. Fits AP parts and the typical ML Hop stuff. Its the practical choice.
Steveocee
Clearly no discussion here. VSR10 and enjoy the long haul project.
PopRocket123
I've been eyeing up the CYMA Cm700 for a while. Fully VSR compatible apart from a weird dual adjustment hop similar to the SRS
AK47frizzle
MK23 dmr does wonders. Depends on your site though. Some allow 500 fps for dmrs, others 420, others 400 etc. Overall, I guess a bolt action is more readily usable since they all have the unanimous 500 fps limit. That being said... Ares striker as03 There are also more interesting options like the golden eagle vanquish

Impulse
VSR10, whether that means JG BAR10, CM.701 or TM VSR10. My VSR is incredibly lightweight, performs like a dream and I'm even doing a 2nd one and HPAing it xD I may be a bit biased...
Skara
I'd say Mk23 in a carbine kit. Stupid quiet, stupid range (for the energy output), stupid consistency. Stupid weight too being mostly plastic. Nov's carbine would've been great if he made a conversion kit for an existing pistol rather than being a standalone gun. Another option would be the VSR, take a look at Blind Sniper on YouTube, his vsr build is crazy. Avoid Well though, they have some proprietary parts. I mean, look at this Striker: it's quite heavy (even the 02 is) and needs upgrades right off the box unless you go for a 03/Kneecapper, but then you're very limited in power output due to the extremely short barrel. It's fine for a 1J build, but getting the thing to shoot at 2.2J imo is just a waste of money. Yet another option, Tanaka/KJW gas guns.

This is literally what I'm doing. Wolverine bolt looks really nice, and being able to do spring, HPA and CO2 all in one rifle is a really flexible platform. Just need to find a good rifle stock pouch to hold the HPA tank...

Then again, maybe I should revisit it... I like the m700, but it's too heavy for a lightweight build. I might check the JG out @Lokai - what's it like for build quality etc? And what are the mags like for fit? I had an A&K M24 and the mags were a bugger in the magwell...
sonofsammo
JG ordered. I already have a 455 pdi barrel I can stick in, somewhere. Now I just need to look at what else to stick in there 😄

Yeah, that's the plan. Might just go CO2 because fitting it all in the stock will be the best outcome and I'm sure CO2 will work in the cold, just need to adjust the power on the regulator. TM sling mounts feel more solid, but JG stock is better and I'd go as far as saying the cylinder is better because you don't have to drill it to open it. Action Army is one way to go. Personally, I went Laylax in my spring one (edgi barrel), because I wanted the Springer Custom Works S-trigger, piston and spring guide in mine and I know that's compatible with Laylax. Plus, I'm a long time airsofter and back in my day the only choices were PDI or Laylax, so I'm biased. Also, I went Maple Leaf in my new one I will HPA because I wanted to experiment with different makes. However, I can't praise the Action Army hop up chamber enough. Quality upgrade part and I will never have a VSR without one now.

Only as far as my garden at the moment got it just as lockdown kicked in! Using the action army 50 round mags btw, fit and feed perfectly, the jg ones seemed a bit ropey.
