Would there be any advantage in sealing an AEG with electrical tape in wet weather? Along the seal between the receiver etc. I mean. Thinking of doing just this for tomorrow’s pew pew day

After yesterday I need water wings! Google weather shit out on me and predicted no rain till the evening. Good call google! However , despite being cold and wet. It was still a pretty good day all in all.....even if I'm paying for it now. Lol

Ive been using the beeb lately, this page:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/0/

Put in your location in the search, I'm literally on the beach so forecasts have always been a bit hit & miss, but this has been spot on pretty much to the hour of late, meant I've been able to get some outdoor jobs sorted without worrying about my electrics etc.

It's a bit of water and a drop in temperature. Deal with it. Put a coat out and run around. Sorted.

It always amazes me how people make such a big deal about it when gooutdoors/decathlon have such a good range of inexpensive gear that is perfect for casual airsoft use.

They do good stuff.....if you take any of it with you. Guess I should take a lesson from the scouts. Be prepared! Not sure how the weather was in everyone elses neck of the woods but in kent we had rain, wind and hail all in one afternoon. One of the plus sides there were less people but I did get chatting to more than I normally do.

I have a box that I always keep in the car with a jacket, fleece and a few other bits just in case I need it but usually I take my SOMS bag in the car when I'm playing somewhere that way I have everything I need should an occasion arise for it. I Even keep a good supply of food and water in the car, maybe I'm a bit over the top when it comes to stuff like that (food, drinks, jackets etc) but its good having stuff in the car even if you break down or whatever.

Nah just having a bit of fun messing with him , when you’ve been on an exercise for a couple of wks on some god forsaken shithole of a training range and it’s rained constantly the entire time and absolutely everything you have is wet to some degree or another (matter of fact I’d swear I once opened a packet of crisps on Otterburn ranges and they were all ready wet !😳) then you can say “deal with it/man up/don’t be a pussy/etc” like we all do to each other.👍😁

Ah! The army, of no relevance here as this is about a few hours on a Sat/Sunday playing a game.

Never said it was 😉

Ive done my fair share of time as an all year round biker, and its fecking shite. Anyone who says its "enjoyable" or somehow makes you "harder" than those who dont, or that it "makes you feel more alive" or say "just need good gear" is a liar :P No matter how pukka your kit is, with 80+mph wind blast behind it water finds its way in to every crack. Ive done some god awful cross country journeys in sub zero winter monsoon grade rain and theres nothing fun about it.

And fun is what matters, thats what I do airsoft for. I dont enjoy being cold, wet and miserable. And not being able to see anything because your eyepro is soaked and its like looking through swimming goggles. Anyone who says otherwise is either insane, lying, or trying to make out like they're Billy Big Balls the hardest 'softer in the land. They probably spend more on grooming products for their operator beard than they do on airsoft. :P

Thankfully Im in a position now to be able to afford a car for winter use as well, and I'll stick to nice dry indoors sites during the bad weather.  Sadly with The Mall going kaput, I need to find a new indoors site.

Working in airsoft I have to put up with all kinds of shit weather that the site is woodland. Some of the best play I've seen has been on shitty days where most fairweather airsofters would stay home.

I actually dont mind the rain/cold... thats not me trying to be all billy big balls as you put it but once you've had to put up with it so long you kind of suck it up or sort your kit so you dont mind it as much.

Playing the likes of senny where we had literally all of the weather types in one day once it does make you appreciate a good brew and your all weather sleeping bag and thank the airsoft gods you packed a decent amount of spare clothes.

Out of interest, are you talking about playing in inclement weather, or marshalling?

Because standing or walking around slowing in a poncho is not the same as run-jump-kneel-prone.

I'm only allowed out once a month so rain or shine I'm going to play. How ever this weekend was the worst inclement weather I've played in. I was that cold and wet at the end of the day my nuts stared to go back inside me.

True, but you mention it at every opertunity like it is! 😂

When needed to remind someone it’s  just a game (that I very very much enjoy !) to take step back and relax !😁
