E21A Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Always wanted a stippled grip on my G17 so thought I’d have a go on a couple of spare back straps I had knocking around. Pics are are of my second attempt. I bought a textured lower lower frame so I’m going to stipple my original lower as well. Let me know what you think.
Supporters Rogerborg Posted September 25, 2018 Supporters Posted September 25, 2018 It looks neat, and aesthetically nicer than the big chunky woodchip-style stippling that we've lolled at in the Airsoft Dreamers thread. This article suggests that deeper (messier) stippling provides more grip, but that's not such a big consideration for us as for real steel (or polymer) shooters.
Monkman Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Looks pretty damn good to me...well done sir!
Supporters Druid799 Posted September 25, 2018 Supporters Posted September 25, 2018 Fecking hate it ! the concept that is but I must say you’ve done a very neat job , well done mate ? PS still fecking hate stippling ! ?
heroshark Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 One day I'm gonna get a tm glock and stipple the whole thing including the slide, trigger, barrel, mag base plates, if I can melt it I'll stipple it. It'll be hilarious.
Guest Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 That is a superb job, well done Gotta say, it feels good in the hand, but hate the look.

heroshark Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Maybe just leave a little windows around the trades.

EDcase Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 From what I've seen, that stippling effect suits Glocks really well.
Guest Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 Care to share your technique, as that again looks very well done

E21A Posted September 27, 2018 Author Posted September 27, 2018 Finished off the 226 grip and refitted. Made a start on the G17 frame
Enid_Puceflange Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 Looks very tasty i wonder if the same effect can be done on a tan flavoured WE G17 unsure if the plastics are the same ?? ?
E21A Posted September 28, 2018 Author Posted September 28, 2018 Provided it’s not rubberised plastics then it can be done.
E21A Posted September 29, 2018 Author Posted September 29, 2018 G17 frame coming along nicely, think I’m going to use this as the base for scratch build gun.
Enid_Puceflange Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Some lovely work on here You guys just using soldering irons to do this??
MILITATED Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 I would give my right (not left) testicle if someone could stipple a frame for me as shown below. Looking good for just starting out! I have seen some terrible stippling jobs in my time. Straight up looking like they just jabbed the frame with a knife a million times.
E21A Posted October 3, 2018 Author Posted October 3, 2018 Bottom one shouldn’t be too difficult to achieve, just keeping it neat would be the tricky part.
E21A Posted October 4, 2018 Author Posted October 4, 2018 @BigBlackGlock some very rough and quick practice at ice at something similar to what you posted. As I suspected keeping it neat and uniform will be the tough bit.
