    TM pistols

TM pistols don't have to be plastic, there are so many companies that offer aftermarket slides and whatnot (pretty much every internal and external piece on their G17 series has an aftermarket "upgrade", for example). Ace1Arms, Guarder, RWA, etc... make metal slides (varying prices, Guarder usually offering some of the cheaper ones). Buy these from Asian retailers, not the UK, unless you want to pay a lot more than needed. Better to just wait the extra 2 or 3 days for shipping from HK, for example (everyone seems to have it stuck in their mind that shipping from Asia takes 20 years...). For CQB, you will not need to touch it internally as a stock TM will perform more than well enough. If you want better accuracy, the Maple Leaf hop unit and inner barrel set are a fantastic investment. These were my ones - TM G17 base.

    Custom setups

Requests feedback, does not read it. Maybe you will make a good airsoft company afterall 🙄 Did you want actual feedback, or just praise? Regarding your "I will sell it all for £90 or they can buy it individually for £90" thing (loosely quoted), you are forgetting something important, which is covered in the second part of my "Bible" which you didn't bother reading. Retailers are always having promotions and discount codes. That £90 will very often be reduced drastically, whereas yours will stay £90 (assuming you manage to source everything cheap enough to make a 40% profit). I will keep this one short.

    Custom setups

Apply this idea to another context and you will see why you are getting the responses you are. Imagine heading down to your local supermarket and suddenly, some random bawbag comes up to you and says "I'll pick up all ye shopping and put them in carrier bags for ya and leave it at the till for you to pay. Just pay me an extra 40% of the cost of your shopping". The fact that you want 40% more for getting a few bits together and weaving a bit of MOLLE, which will almost definitely just get picked apart and rearranged on receipt, is laughable. The only time I have seen something like this work is when UKTactical offer "premade" setups, such as their 5.56 Warrior DCS carrier (comes with a few 5.56 pouches and utility pouches or something), or their similar belt setups. The reason they would sell is because they were considerably cheaper than buying it all separately. Not because they put a 40% mark up on it. Even then, UKTactical almost always have either a 10% or 20% discount code active to bring the cost down further - it is rarer to see their stock at normal price. Furthermore, the DCS is also not some random unbranded or cloned carrier from China and UKTactical/Warrior Assault Systems are very highly reputable companies. A 40% increase for a Chinese JPC and couple of pouches will not be popular. You would have to order in large quantities to even get a small discount from a supplier, which would be a massive investment. There are very few money making options for those looking to start an airsoft business. Good examples include services people actually need/want, such as bespoke Kydex holsters or 3D printed parts. Adding a triple M4 pouch to a plate carrier at a higher price when you could just use the search bar and add those two items to your basket on any other website is not a good example. Long story short; it will only work if you are working for the airsoft community, instead of milking them for considerably more money than required. Majority are on a tight budget as it is. As aforementioned, kit buying is usually two-stage. Cheap China crap -> Gucci gear. Very few will opt for a "bundle of cheap China crap at a higher price" between those stages. Unless you happen to draw in a brand new player with more money than usual, that is. It is already bad enough with UK companies importing a $20 plate carrier and then listing them for £50, or something like that. Personally, I would not buy a premade setup. A big part of airsoft for me is customising my gear to my exact specifications and I doubt you would stock much that is desirable, because the Gucci side can be picky and expensive. I have given my opinion, which I rarely do, but it is 5:48am and I can't get back to sleep. By now, you may notice that it is not a particularly popular idea, judging from these responses. Take all this on board because, to put it simply, AF-UK is one of the last places made up of genuine and decent airsoft players; you would probably be laughed out of an airsoft Facebook community, for instance (after a considerable amount of piss-taking with no real feedback). If an airsofter wants a bundle setup, they will most likely just go to the classifieds and buy a second hand setup for much cheaper than it would all cost brand new. Best of luck. Edit: To be honest, if I saw this service a few years ago, I would use it. Just not how you would expect. I would browse the premade setups and then just Google the individual components and buy then elsewhere for cheaper, assuming I saw something I liked. Unfortunately, this is just a service that pretty much no one in the airsoft community has actively requested.

I wish it were that simple but I usually build my guns rather than buy them, and the project must be an interesting one 😥 I have ran out of ideas, however, and gas blowbacks (only guns I am interested in) are limited in variety

    Trigger response in gas pistol

Even though I hate AEGs, I am still considering getting an ARP-9 😅 I think it just looks cool. Trigger pull was one of the reasons I sold both of my KWA MK23s. To echo Rocket, stick an adjustable trigger into your 18c if you really want a super short trigger pull. I just do not think that the MK23 is the platform for a short trigger pull unfortunately

    Best CQB gun, a pistol?

Agree with @Prisce I ran dual TM G17s (albeit once) and it was great fun. I have since gone back to just one G17. Carry 2 50rnd extended mags and about 5 standard mags, had absolutely no issues and finished with ammo to spare. Excellent choice if you are looking to run around as your setup will be very light and compact. I do not have any issues with temperature as mentioned above - I run my mags with Nuprol 2.0 most of the time, or 3.0 if it is unusually cold. Something something TM magic dust 😅 Only recommendation would be to install silent fill o-rings which the amazing @rocketdogbert introduced me to. Stops gas spraying everywhere when you fill the mags. If you are REALLY set on using a pistol but don't fancy running your nuts off, then you can buy either a collapsible glock stock, glock buffer tube adapter or a carbine kit if you prefer to shoulder it and move slower.

Making a Royal Mail claim? Value?

Submitting international claims are a PITA. Up to 90 days for investigation and even then, it may not be successful! If it is successful, then they send you the details and payment via mail - this will also probably get lost in transit 🙄 I did have a similar issue some months ago with the whole GLS thing and it seems to happen because the parcel was "violated"/tampered with - this happens often, according to the post office clerk. Their support staff are also clueless as I remember calling on three separate occasions before making a claim and received three completely different and conflicting answers; goes without saying, none of the answers were of any use. I suppose they were just trying to avoid saying "I have no fecking clue and do not give a shite" 😅 Best of luck with your claim. Edit: For proof of value, I just took a screenshot of the PayPal transaction. Edit 2: Return addresses seem to be meaningless, I don't think I have ever had something returned by RM.

    US/UK price difference and importing

I will advise not getting a G28 if performance is what you are after. It is mostly a collector's item. The AEG is quite bad as opposed to the GBBR, also. The gearbox is weak and prone to cracking, the ambi fire selector is not even ambi (on the AEG), etc... You would most definitely have to upgrade it, almost entirely. It is a mediocre performer. Do not let the looks fool you! Edit: You also need to make sure you have a decent amount of strength as my G28 was about 7kg fully set.

The 'What have you just bought' Thread

I bought another Umarex/VFC G28 GBBR (Deluxe Edition). I just really missed that ridiculously heavy, multi-brown monstrosity. Time to revisit the rice and beans diet for a month!

    the ar15/m16/m4 enigma

Yeah I gotta admit, this is something that also confuses me. I scroll through Facebook a fair amount and I am a member of the majority of large airsoft groups; I see this often. Bunch of "show us ya collections then fellas" and there are about 6 M4s on the wall with maybe one G36 or AK. 95% of the time, one of those M4 variants is in the "DMR config" with a scope, suppressor and bipod (most commonly a gripod). Maybe a magwell grip too. Another probably being the "MK18". I admit, I think the M4 is both fantastic ergonomically and aesthetically, but I cannot see an actual reason for owning more than 2 (one main, one backup). Although, it gets worse when you explore the "HK fan" groups, where you will see pictures of enough 416s/417s (look at mah 416d, 416c, etc) to arm the entire airsoft field, but all owned by one person. Do they just sit on the wall/in storage and gather dust? However, I suppose we must realise that not all people are the same. Some just like to be surrounded by multiple guns of the same platform. Personally, that does not make any sense to me as I would rather just invest the money into one, excellent perfoming and looking gun instead of 5 of the same stock gun. You see a lot of people saying things like "I want a TM recoil but they are too expensive", whilst they sit there with an armoury of guns which probably exceeds the cost of the TM. It seems to be something that spans across most (if not all) hobbies. There are those that just stockpile things they like.

is dry firing a gbb alright?

I had a WE PDW that broke from dry firing during a video demonstration. It was not used much and only a minimal amount of BBs had been put through it. Anyway, I was dry firing it to show the RoF and boom, the nozzle snapped in half. I have the video somewhere, may I will dig it out later. I would advise not dry firing unless you need to test it (after maintainance or something).
