  1. As a watchmaker I can advice not to wear a very expensive watch 😂 I run a cheap casio, it's quartz so very accurate and if it gets shot out it's a tenner to replace (at least mine was £10 from ebay) https://amzn.eu/d/db86BEC Wearing anything like an apple watch is just screaming to be shot out, it happens I've seen it

  3. That's just normal, that's just being a human over the age of about 6. Or even if not necessarily 'knowing' the exact time 24/7 with a constant update, just always having the ability to very very quickly access it (and the date). Pretty sure 6 was when I learnt how to tell the time on an analogue clock in school anyway. Parents got me a watch not too long after I think. Granted, I am probably very bias on account of having to fill out paperwork many times a day that often require times and dates input in many places, and being late for anything is one of the worst possible sins.
  4. I couldn't find anything further, so I'd assumed it was settled out of court. I'd love to know more about site insurance, conditions, and premiums, given that rather cavalier "It won't happen here" attitude that we see too often.
  5. Welcome back! I was away from airsoft for a long time before returning to it. The use of LiPo batteries and MOSFETs was part of the culture shock of returning but I haven't used anything other than LiPos in my AEGs in the past couple of years.
  6. Hi - I'm looking to get back into airsoft after a ~10 year hiatus and have a few AEGs, some gas pistols and a spring bolt action that have sat in storage this entire time. Is it safe to assume all of my RIFs will require a bit of work before they are ready to field? I'm thinking at a minimum the seals on all of the GBB mags will have perished and there's a good chance most of the batteries are dead? Are hop rubbers also likely to be bust? Will all of the gearboxes need re-greased too? Anything else I should be considering? Cheers!

Putting the feelers out for my GBLS DAS GDR15 CQB, in great condition, amazing recoil and full working order. These rifs are ridiculously close to how a real firearm handles and I suggest looking up how they fire, gutted to see it go. Just needs a new hop rubber, haven't got the time or patience to swap it as I've had a change in circumstance. 6 working mags replica eotech sight, 11.1 deans battery and will come with a rifle case. Collection from Hertford is preferred to test out but can post at buyer expense. Will also be at the upcoming Shift your rift all weekend! Open to swaps for set up of equal pricing or less with cash on top, not after anything in particular so send me what you got. Thanks for looking Tommo

  9. Hello there, I am considering purchasing an MP5 (AEG) but I require some help with the components since I want to customize it to resemble the loadout I made in Delta Force. Can anyone help me find anything similar to the components in the screenshot? Thanks! If the screenshot below doesn't show enough, I can take more. !
  10. Gotcha. In that case I'd be looking at the GBRS Hydra style risers. Given the size of the lens on that mask I think you'd struggle with anything that would assume a "normal" cheek weld. Things like the SSG-1 work because they're designed to work with PB goggles for Lycra clad HPA players to slid about on their knees with. Or of course you could just go HPA Hi-Capa with an M4 mag adaptor and give yourself completely to the dark side.

Selling this as I've got a VFC M727 which I prefer using and don't go enough to warrant a back up gun. Purchased around 2 months ago and haven't skirmished with it so it's new condition. The only downside is I've attempted to remove the Specna sticker off the side (poorly) and so half of it remains. Other than that all I've done is add a picatinny handguard, fake acog, functional peq box, and a sling. The rail system is plastic and is mainly there for looks. Also pictured are 4 specna stanag mid caps and the two plastic mid caps. Currently the gun is set to semi and 3 round burst but will include the HAL etu card with the gun or can print off another one. Changing the fire modes is quite easy and AST Kilo on youtube does a great demonstration on how to do it. The gun was chronoed at 347fps on a 0.2 at the time of purchase. Everything pictured is included in the sale, bear in mind I might have to send this over two parcels so postage is a little higher than usual (around 18£) £170 posted or collection can be arranged from Nottingham for £150. Any more questions don't hesitate to message me. Note this is a sale only and will not do a swap deal or anything like that 👍

  12. Active brake on its own is supposed to prevent overspin, which could be thought of like a natural pre-cock, but can often have the unintended effect of stopping the box too soon giving trigger lockups as the cutoff timing does take into account a little bit of overspin. Typically i tend to reccommend using ab and precocking together or not at all, although it could be argued a precock setting without ab probably wont harm anything. Ofc none of that has anything to do with the energy output, but i see you've got to the bottom of that mystery.
  13. Anything rubber will probably have dried out so yes, as you suspect it's going to be new hop rubber, gas seals etc at a minimum. Depending on what sort of lube and level of maintenance you were at when the guns went into storage then I'd certainly consider a good overall service. Batteries - absolutely. Get some new ones. If you have Nimh type ones then they've been roundly replaced by LiPo (go for 7.4v ones though). If you already had LiPo be grateful they haven't already burnt your house down and get rid! New seals are cheap, just change them over and then you can sell as "refurbished" rather than "serviced but might still leak like a sieve".
  14. Just got a clearance sale 30% off promotion email from Wolf, but at the bottom was a banner; Anyone heard anything about this?
  15. Hey guys, I know we already have a dedicated section but it's mostly used for site reviews, which I love reading from down here, especially Asomodai's ones, but I reckon it'll get more visibility here. I'm interested in hearing how your day went, whether it's a simple skirmish, a full day themed event or a hardcore milsim! In particular I'd like to hear anecdotes, something in particular that made (or broke) your day, or even just some venting because of one or multiple unpleasant events, maybe a super long range shot or if you snuck so close to someone you managed to tap him on the shoulder. These kinds of things Lemme start this absolute shitshow by telling you (I don't care if you don't care, you sit there and read) my day. So, today was the first game after the summer pause, it gets quite warm here in summer and people prefer to roast themselves on a beach rather than play with toy gnus, I was very excited as I took my new specna for a spin. Due to the relatively low numbers we invited another club to play with us (which from now on will be called "cheater club" but I won't bore you with the explanation), we ended up being 18 people, 12 of us + 6 of them and some randoms thrown in. The day started well, with the two first games being a little slow paced due to "the others" playing for the first time in the highest part of our field. Hit calling was generally good until the last three games. The first one of these three saw me sneaking up to 4/5 metres of an enemy sniper, who was unaware of my presence as he was focused on pinning down my teammates. Flick the gun to semi and let off a couple of shots into the only visible part, the head. Both BBs impacted. And this is where it all goes to shit. The guy visibly flinches, turns towards me and ducks into cover, to pop up later with his pistol, but I'm still there waiting, this time with the fun switch on, and let off a small bursts that gets him right in the forehead. Still flinches and dives back into cover. At this point I'm pissed, I hold down the trigger to keep him down while moving to the side to get a better shot, as we were separated by a small ridge. At this point half a flash mag has been dumped. When I get really close to him, must've been 2/3 metres at best, he pokes out of cover and lets off a nice full auto burst from his CO2 pistol in my neck. I'm not Shouty McYelly, so I call my hit and walk away. Game ends and the guy comes out of his little trench, bleeding with visible welts on his forehead. Didn't feel bad for a second about it. Also quite a few people were watching the scene so I didn't even need to say or do anything as it was pretty obvious what happened. The game after I'm on defense, I set up an ambush on a small side path on the left hand side of the objective and spot a 3 man squad coming my way, I let the first one pass and unleash hell on the second and third guy. The second enemy dives into cover while the third, a good 10/15 metres behind the other two, is still in the open, so I instantly direct the fire towards him. Now I'm not 100% sure I hit him as he was a good 40 metres away, but my gun does reach up to at least 55 metres, I was shooting down from an elevated position and the spread was still torso sized. Nonetheless, the target at first stands still in surprise and then runs away. Meh. Follows a nice exchange of bbs with my club's president (the first guy) but then I'm overran and eliminated. Still a bit puzzled by this "incident", but again, might have misjudged the distance but it seemed like I did reach that guy, as when the game ended he told me my bbs were zipping past him. The magic of airsoft and round lightweight ammunition. Then the last game of the day, we send the whole cheater club to defend a small chapel, we as attackers have two advantages. Range, because we are starting from the high ground, and terrain knowledge. We split up in 2/3 man teams as we always do, my mate and I decide to go on a huuuuge flanking maneuver that gets us behind the objective. At this point it gets ridiculous: We emerge out of cover right next to a girl who was looking at the opposite direction, none of us saw her (new nickname, Eagle Eye lol) until she moved a few branches. On the plus side she somehow didn't hear us. Great, let's spread out now so she doesn't fuck both of us up with a single sweep. Slowly creeping towards her, I flick the gun to semi, wait for my teammate to move a bit and then I pull the trigger.... Nothing, fuck's sake, the gun locked up. She notices us, turns around to shoot us but we're already behind cover: me in a dip protected by a bush, my teammate on the opposite side of the very tree she was using as cover. I draw my pistol, pop out of cover and fire 4 shots, hitting her in the side of the mask (from 3 metres, clearly saw the bbs hitting) as she was looking at my teammate. I dive back into cover, she turns around towards me and my mate puts 4 bbs in her side while she lets off a small unaimed burst between us. Note that this took some seconds so she had the time to call the hit, but she doesn't until she took my mate's balls (lul). The hit was called, but suddenly she starts yelling that she hit both of us and ran to cry about it to our club's president. I stare at my mate, he stares at me, we both shrug and keep playing. We both end up being taken out by her boyfriend, who got himself into a really cheeky position and was almost invisible from where we were (imagine a huge bush with the tiniest of tiny holes in it and a barrel barely poking out, good luck spotting that), good play by him and we complimented. A rollercoaster of a day, which started with the best premises but ended in disappointment. How did your day go? Did you have the same bad luck as me? Did you have a great time?
  16. Just wanted to share my experience flying from Spain (Malaga) to the UK with internal airsoft parts in my carry-on luggage, in case it helps anyone considering the same. This could probably help in some other EU countries as well. Background: I only considered doing this because I had pre-purchased parts from Finland and Italy to arrive at my address in Spain. Nearly everything was RetroArms parts at significant discounts — hard to come by and expensive to replace. The only non-RetroArms item was the LCT AK magwell spacers. I was trying to avoid shipping them separately or risking them in checked baggage due to time and coordination issues. Previous Experience: On a past trip, I had tried to take an airsoft pistol magazine in carry-on. In hindsight I couldn't believe I even tried this, I should have known better. It was flagged immediately and security said I’d have to either check it in the hold (too late) or have it confiscated. I chose the latter. Lesson learned: magazines are a definite no in hand luggage. This Time: I packed the following internal-only parts in my carry-on: 2 gearboxes 2 motor cages 2 spring guides 1 cylinder 1 cylinder head LCT AK magwell spacers Nothing was externally gun-shaped or capable of functioning on its own. All were purely internal upgrade components. I also brought: Paperwork detailing what the items were, receipts and why I had them. In both Spanish and English. My best attempt at staying calm and cooperative despite being rushed (I woke up an hour before the flight and was rushing like hell to get to the airport, don't do that!) What Happened: After going through the scanner, my bag was immediately pulled aside. Security flagged the contents as “weapon-like in nature.” I explained and handed over the documentation. A police officer was called. Thankfully, he knew what airsoft was and confirmed the parts were internal-only and not part of a replica. He still went to check with his superior, since it was a fairly large quantity. The superior gave the green light, but warned me not to do it again, emphasizing that other officers could have refused it entirely. I ended up having to sprint through the airport and barely made my flight. It was a close call as I had 7 minutes to run from Security, through Passport control and to the gate at the furthest end of B Terminal! Key Point: Even if what you’re carrying is legal, that does not mean you have the right to bring it in carry-on. Airport security and airline staff have full discretion to confiscate or deny boarding over any item they find suspicious, even if it’s not prohibited by law. Final Thoughts: I got through this time because I had paperwork, remained polite, and the police officer was informed. But it could have easily gone the other way. TL;DR: Only tried this because I had pre-bought RetroArms parts at a discount, shipped to Spain from Finland and Italy. Packed all internal parts: no replica externals, no magazines. Bag was pulled aside, police were called, and I was let through after a warning. Legal doesn’t mean allowed — security can refuse anything. Wouldn’t try it again — too stressful and risky. If you do intend to try this. Please make sure you heed the above!
  17. Interesting post with some very well written out information. This sort of post is always useful for getting people to think about what they’re doing when approaching a certain situation. It’s not always obvious. Its yet another demonstration of how unaware and uneducated security agencies can be when it comes to airsoft. I don’t think I’ll ever be in a situation where I need to be carrying anything gun or replica related through security of any kind but when I do travel the golden rule regarding where I pack any shit I’m not sure of is ‘if there is any doubt then there’s no doubt’ and in that hold luggage it goes. Again you just don’t know who you’re going to get manning that scanner belt, especially it seems in the UK, where at least half of the staff on the security line seem to be mouth breathing automaton fools. You do get good people sometimes but that ain’t a guarantee. The discussions I’ve had with people about things as innocent as a camera would make you break a rib laughing. Heed the advice given by the OP and err on the side of caution….

  19. I'm starting a new thread as I've been trampling over other people's too often recently, and as I've got my own chrono and a desire to do the simple things on my own, I thought I'd record stuff here, and ask for related advice. Background: New Double Eagle M906C delivered start of November. Didn't open it up to clean it out, just straight off to three skirmishes where it's performed very well in-game but with two caveats: 1) Low rate of fire on 7.4v. Especially so after a cold day on the field. In warm conditions it's shooting 11.6 rps on 7.4v, 16.4 rps on 11.1v. That'll do me. 2) Low muzzle velocity. Very variable figures seen, anything from a low of 230fps on a very cold site, to 300fps in my house, but also down at 270fps in the same conditions. The odd thing about the muzzle velocity differences are they stay consistent each time, so each day / test the readings are all very similar, within +-5fps Intended actions: 1) Crack open the receiver, check the gun looks ok internally 2) Spray some lube into the nozzle (leave for a while, then shoot it out before re-assembly) 3) Change stock hop rubber to 50C (Light green) Maple Leaf Macaron 4) Change stock hop nub to Omega 5) Change spring to M100 or M105 'Before' testing: With gun at room temperature, chrono'd at 270-280fps. Accuracy test with cheapo BB Kings 0.25g Bio BB's, 15m measured, fired from room @ 19-20C, 2C ambient temp outside, light wind, bench rest, Kobra red dot, approx 30 shots Results: 1) I've cracked open the gun... The front receiver pin was stiff and it took some hammering, but very easy to slide off the top receiver after that (once I'd worked out the dust cover needs to be closed, or it'll get blocked by it). No damage to the nozzle. Barrel was quite clean, but not perfect, so ran some cotton swabs through it. There's evidence of light greasing on the piston - everything looks good (neither under or over lubed) to my untutored eye 2) Sprayed the Ultrair silicon lube into the nozzle and left it while I did everything else. Then blasted out the excess with a few shots before reassembly. 3) Replaced the hop rubber. The old one seemed fine, lubed on the outside but clean-ish on the inside. It definitely worked ok as I've managed to over-hop 0.30g BBs a few weeks ago. 4) Attempted to replace the nub. The Omega is simply too large to fit into the hop arm... Have I bought the wrong one somehow??? @ak2m4 perhaps you could tell me? 5) Replaced the spring. This was really easy thanks to the quick-change system. (I wish my TM AK had the same, breaking the gearbox open was a real pain and left me with a bill for someone else to put it back together!) The stock tube bolt needs a long-shafted no4 Hex bit to undo. The spring end plate thing needs as wide a flat-head screwdriver as you can find (to make it super-easy). The spring guide is nicely engineered. The interesting thing is I've tried two springs in there: Action Army M100 - much shorter than the stock spring, gave 320fps with 0.25g BB's (no hop) ASG M105 - either longer than the stock spring, or about the same length... it's still in the gun so can't compare now... 320fps Which just goes to show you can't trust the manufacturer's ratings, gotta try the springs yourself. And the acid test, 0.20g BBs with a bit of hop applied ... 345-350fps. Yaaaasssssssss! So, I'm really rather happy. I've successfully 'done things' without apparently buggering-up my gun, mostly thanks to the nice way it's been designed and built by DE. And the muzzle velocity is up to the site limit, and still seems to be consistent. Though obviously it's changed from day-to-day before, so I'll have to keep my eye on that! I'll re-test the accuracy tomorrow, but obviously I'd rather do it with the Omega nub in place. Still, it'll be interesting to see what difference the other changes have made first. I'll also chill the gun outside, see if that affects the fps.
  20. @Johnboy Sorry i'm late to the party here...i have some spare Cyma m14 parts laying around, i'll have a look when i get home from work to see if i have anything. If its a hop unit you need, i know 6mm had them in stock as i had to get one for my boneyard special but that was late last year.
  21. I'd be interested in a further explanation of why you didn't put them in your checked/hold bag? I'm not a frequent flyer or anything, probably only done about 20 return trips in my adult life, but I've brought alllll sorts back from the US in my hold bag, zero issue or fuss. Little bottle openers that look like rounds, bladed tools, all sorts of little gun/tactical paraphernalia that's obviously legal in both countries and legal to put on the plane, just with a high potential of raising eyebrows at airports. But on the flip side I've forgotten to empty my water bottle that was in my carry-on backpack or take out a tablet (electronic) a couple of times over the years and been swiftly pulled aside and had to go back around to the start of the queue going through security.
  22. If you're anything like everyone else here you'll be looking at more guns alot sooner than in a couple of years 😁
  23. As there are a few of these appearing in the group now. I thought I'd start us a thread which will keep everything in one place. Upgrades, issues or anything else.
  24. A couple of years ago, they had a survey with what products do you want us to do, and the m320 and BHP were on it. I'm sure i didn't dream this as well, but cant seem to find anything about it online.
  25. The whole rifle. It's polymer but it's super heavy, threads are inverted (as said above), the receiver is proprietary so you cannot fit aftermarket gearbox shells (and in no time you wish you had bought a different gun). Pistol grip fucks the motor angle. God forbid you want to install some "octarms" parts, wildly off spec even for Ares stuff.. Internals are abysmal, zero air seal to begin with, gearbox is proprietary and poorly made (very thin at the front, where it usually cracks), bushings are made of aluminium (yes, aluminium, they last very little), compression set is bad, especially the piston, it loves to crack at the rear, gears aren't good and due to how the etu controls the cycle (via a magnet) you have very limited options for upgrades, ETU is trash tier, proprietary to the gearbox and has the tendency to fry itself plus if you set battery protection to 11.1v it won't recognise 7.4v batteries anymore, nozzle and tappet plate are bad, plate will probably snap the fin within 2 months of use. Hop rubber is paper thin, doesn't lift anything past a 0.2 and it will most likely rip apart within 3 mags. Sauce: i had two Ares M4s. Edit: I'm sorry, but it had to be done, probably if you asked before buying we could have warned you.
