You could get your chissels out and carve yourself a new stock and foregrip. Let me know how you get on
Make me a set while you're at it

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Sitting Duck in So I wana buy a rifle....
ICS are very good guns - "maybe" slightly better than G&G on some models
BUT many bits in ICS are bespoke to ICS they often have a 2 piece gearbox in M4's
quick spring change but a bollock to get parts easy n cheap as well as limited upgrade options
Often ICS may be a tiny bit more expensive - not much and they usually give you 2 x 300 mags
think this might lure people in but like some car companies...
All sounds good but you try n get spares/service then you find out maybe not a as good as you thought
G&G use the "normal" setup so parts/upgrades are easy to come by, plus they are built very well too
Both these companies are Taiwan - SRC are also but their M4's are not as good and I own all 3 btw
The carbine G&G has battery up front in front hanguard - you can get it black/clear, 2tone I think
or usual black and/or tan
The Raider has battery at back in crane stock - 2 stick batteries linked together usually
but there are numerous options like fitting a solid stock which you can shove anybattery at back
Carbine is front battery with no RIS rails and the clear is better than 2 Tone black bright orange
trust me that orange is a dead give away - enemy will see that day-glo orange gun before you
So clear or transparent is a good option for non ukara peeps, you can spray the clear parts but
in effect you are crossing the line by painting an IF gun to look RIF so won't go into that too much
but is easier and better than trying to paint bright orange if user gets ukara
Raider is lovely - well worth £25 more imho - it does not feel cheap at all, the raider is solid no front
barrel hanguard wobble coz all bolted together tight on RIS.
Only 2 minor things and they really are minor:
no rear sight hand rail or carry handle like many M4's
charging handle don't drop down the flap to adjust hop-up like on most M4's
(you have to pull down flap and keep down to adjust hop-up)
These are very very minor things in what is an absolute lovely first gun choice
and suppose they keep price down a bit and can be changed if you wish
G&G and you won't go wrong, they are both good models, be careful you don't buy a blowback
or gas blowback version coz you think great they got them in stock
Nunchuk battery will work in both guns I reckon carbine or raider - up to you which one or both

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Monty in Place to buy the G&G combat machine and the website liveextreme, is it good?

Two tone is £9.99.

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Sitting Duck in So I wana buy a rifle....
avoid jumping in and buying from:
justbbguns
bbguns4less
onlybbguns
these cater for kids mainly - yes they have a few on there that are good but in general most stuff on there
if you bought it and went to a proper skirmish site you will get ya ar$e slapped coz you can't keep up
you will be out gunned & out ranged big time and just end up getting the hump
sometimes on cqb you can get buy with cheaper stuff but woodlands at mid-long range you got no chance
Most on here learnt hard way - there are some good guns out there but you won't go wrong with G&G imho
yeah you can get £80 gun but will regret it in couple of months - trust me on this

i had 2 springer pistols, some galaxy thing that actually has a very strong spring and shoots well even without a hop(ive used it in airsoft and gotten kills... and another thats like a glock but lower powered than the galaxy one despite having mag lock etc... just gave it away, lol... think i still managed to get a couple of kills with that too...
my first reall airsoft gun was my king arms 1928 Chicago Thompson typewriter machine gun... what can i say im a classy guy...

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to remus in Opinions in Double eagle tri shot and G&G combat machine AEG CM 16 thanks
i run both(most shotguns really are very similar) and yes i run both at the same time. and yea start with the combatmachine. when you get good the shotty will be more fun but the aeg is necessary for doing well as you learn. and yea research where you buy from in the http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/forum/10-places-to-buy/ page. theres a reason combat machines are sold our nearly everywhere....

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Deek in What was your first ever airsoft weapon?
My first airsoft weapon was a Tokyo Marui MC51 imported from Japan in about 1997(ish)... and I still use it today and it still works fine, despite the abuse the poor girl has had (lots of gears and several motors... but that is another story!)

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Deek in Hi
Just thought I would post a quick 'hello' to everybody (even though I seem to have waded in on some topics already!...)
Not sure what is the norm for people to post in an introduction, so probably won't say a lot for the time being unless people have a burning desire to know
Deek.

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Baz JJ in Operation Skylight - Hertfordshire Location - Okto Eight Milsim
A soft milsim will be held over a weekend in September where there will be two 8 hour games; one on the Saturday 20th and a follow on game, on the Sunday 21st. Camping over is possible if you want to play both days and stay on the battlefield for an overnight ceasefire.
Titanium has been discovered in the little former Soviet union country of Moldistan.
A corrupt government is selling out the nations heritage to the highest bidder and the Moldistan Defence Force is trying to silence objectors. Rebels in the form of the Peoples Front of Moldistan have just murdered the Minister of Trade and are prepared to stand up to the President.
Both US and Russian Forces are rumoured to be interfering in the natural course of things and events are spiralling out of control.
Its only a matter of time before the peace is shattered and the forests rumble to the sounds of war.
This Milsim will be delivered by professional organisers Okto Eight Milsim.
Cost is expected to be £35 for one day and £60 for two.
Booking hasn't opened yet, but when it does, you will be able to choose a force and then you will have access to confidential intel relevant to the force you have chosen to fight with.
Until then, watch the Okto Eight Milsim page on Facebook for the latest developments
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Okto-Eight-Milsim/300316936785367?ref=hl
and no its not my company and no, I don't earn out of this ! (just in case you were wondering)

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Sitting Duck in Help! 13 year old (age) new to airsoft...need help
Don't think that is same for all sites though, often my son may do full day & I just do half day
Young Guns - all players under 18 so kids can't be supervised by parents
Also Zero One own site was running some mid-week full days where parents could drop off kids
in morning and pick them up at up to about 6:00pm I think
So not all sites enforce a rule that all under 18's have to be fully supervised - just sign a waiver
so ya dad/mum can take you, fill out paperwork and leave you on your own to get lit up - kidding
rent a gun once and maybe a clear or 2-Tone G&G from Pro Airsoft or Zero One £100 to £140ish
but try it out first on a rental to see if you like it and if ya parents ok with you doing it
My missus was a bit freaky at first doing this shooting with son but I explained:
He is getting out n about, meeting new people, working as a team, getting exercise and better than
him just sitting up in his room playing online 24/7 raging n all that - he is still stroppy but thats kids

What was the first ever airsoft weapon you bought?
-2nd hand JG AUG. Not a bad gun, but I hated the trigger.

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Airsoft-Ed in What was your first ever airsoft weapon?
My first ever airsoft gun I got when I was about 7, it was a spring copy of some weird Sig design that looked a bit like a Walther PPK or a Makarov. It was so easy to cock that I thought it was broken, and it was so shit that I was never sure it even worked lol.
It used to fire less than a foot and BBs could literally come out of the barrel at 90°
So I tend to discount it... I got a spring P228 when I was about 13, it was actually pretty good tbh, cost about £30, ejection port opened and everything. I ended up with 4 or 5 spring pistols along the same line, including an M9, a Desert Eagle, a S&W M1911 type thing, and a USP that actually had a slide lock feature lol.
Still got the Desert Eagle lol, still works. It's actually not that bad either.
Also had a spring Uzi, which I also still have, and I had a spring M16, which was just crap in every sense of the word.
The first airsoft gun that I would actually consider an airsoft gun - because when I got all the ones mentioned above, I didn't know what airsoft was, I just bought the guns because they were guns - was a WE M16A3 GBBR, one of the old closed bolt ones. My first ever post on this forum was actually asking about gas rifles, they're why I got into airsoft lol. Found some videos on YouTube, decided I needed one in my life, played airsoft as my means to get one, got one, realised airsoft was awesome in the process, and here I am.
Incidentally, I recommend no one ever buying a GBBR as their first gun...

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Albiscuit in Quick hello!
Just thought I would introduce myself...
My name is Al and im from North London, I have been skirmishing for a few months now as my brother has introduced me to the sport and I am slowly building up kit.
I have a few questions regarding my next big purchase and kit and will be interested in customising a Rifle in the very near future so expect a lot of silly questions from me
I know forums are a great way to get advice and guidance about things so here I am. Hopefully I shall be contributing to the forum in a positive way.
Thanks and HELLO!!

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to straffham in What was your first ever airsoft weapon?
Showing my age but . . . . . A LS M655 kit (basically a M16A2 fixed stock carbine) around 1984, cost £25. All ABS plastic, glue and screw together, spring cocking, no hop, prob 180fps tops! Bought from my local model shop when I was 14 and "RIF" and 2 tone wasn't even thought of!
First proper gun was a TM MP5K PDW around 1990.

TM AK47S Ex rental.
Memory is spotty on it,but It was in very rough shape. Stock broken off, receiver cracked, handguards held on with tape, shit ton of screws missing,no sights,etc..
used it for about a year until I blew up the fuse(Somehow) decided I got enough use out of it and threw it in a bin.
Was a nice enough gun. Being in Ireland TM are just about the best thing bar upgraded guns since they're noticeably better at 1J than a lot of other stock guns
Replaced that with a CYMA M4 CQBR than I had for a few months before I had to return it because it,well, disintegrated and was a massive lemon in general. Then got a TM VSR and here I am now.

In about the mid 90's at a guess. Closely followed by the TM SPAS12 I still have to this day.
