The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Speedbird_666 replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I normally use XT/Rocket/SHS and the like for internals bought saw these were a decent price so thought I would give them a go. Arrived next day from Bullseye Country Sport. Not used anything from FPS-Softair before, but the parts are apparently 'made in Italy'. I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality, but who knows about their longevity. -
Some pitting in the metal - managed to sand out a lot of it, but it will never be a beauty queen now. The Specna paint on mine (again - early batch so may have changed) was so thin that even 0000 Grade wire wool took it off easily. So - it's had a base coat of a rather fetching shade of German WW2 'Hell grau' - and will be my first attempt at dicking around with an airbrush much like the stuff that Negative Airsoft does. Just not as good obviously.
-
My son's Specna is in bits at the moment (don't leave it anywhere humid like I did - a week near a tumble drier has destroyed the previously mint paintwork with nasty white surface corrosion) otherwise I would check. From what I can remember - EPMs worked fine, MAG/King Arms style plastic Mid caps were fine. Can't remember whether my KWA MS120s work (they are better value than EPMs IMO for similar performance). Lonex flash mags worked fine. I think ICS Plastic (T-Mag) Hi-Caps worked ok too. YMMV though - mine is an early batch version circa 2018 (that was fucked with QA issues) - there might have been changes in production over the years

No. Whilst you will get a few more features on a full Perun Hybrid, you will have to open up the gearbox to fit it and the V3 version involves gluing bits to the selector plate. Easy enough if you've worked on a few guns and are happy to take it apart, but unless you have a spare gun or two (in case you cock up), I would suggest you leave well alone. The ETU++ is simply plug and play - and will give you 90% of the features of the Hybrid in a smaller package than the stock G&G ETU. You won't gain much switching out the hop units/rubber/nub/barrel on the higher-end G&G guns, they are pretty decent stock.
-
A Perun ETU++ is pretty much an essential upgrade to an G&G ETU-equipped gun. Fitted one almost immediately after getting a G&G CM16 SRS for my son, really good bit of kit. Once the ETU trigger unit switches die, I'll replace the whole lot with a Perun Hybrid or whatever equivalent available at that time.

Macks airsoft dreamers of the week thread

Sure looks like it. Nice gun, but over-priced - (£645 for the gun + 3 mags from Fire-Support), plus the Magpul bits (£30 for the Vert grip, £60 for the MOE stock, £30 for the MOE Grip - assuming all legit Magpul) plus flash hider (~£30) comes to around £795 give or take a fiver. I would guess that someone might be willing to pay the asking price though if the gun and/or mags are out of stock - which seems to be pretty common. -

Decided to upgrade most of my AEGs with some kind of ETU after years of resisting. So 2x Perun Hybrids (one's already installed): And just ordered a Gate Titan Advanced (thanks KWA and the lack of compatibility with anything else) courtesy of the 'Santa's sack' sale at JD Airsoft. Oh, and a box of KWA MS120 Mid Caps. -

That's bullshit, even the short HK416C rail (from all manufacturers) is different in profile at the front Some of what he's selling are just two-tone re-sprays - namely the P90 (screws are still blue), the MP5 and the AK. Real dick move to not even mention that in the descriptions. -

Went on the Z1 forums for the first time in ages. Came across this little gem: https://forums.zeroin.co.uk/forum/classifieds/rifles-smg-s-for-sale/electric-rifles-smg-s/3295006-specna-arms-sa-h03 Just some minor issues: - No markings - could be a respray but could also be a generic 416 lower - Wrong grip and stock - ASAP sling plate, without the loop for the sling - Missing mock Bolt release - Missing Dust Cover - Missing mock Bolt - Missing gas block - Oh...and missing ENTIRE FRONT HALF OF THE RAIL! Notice none of the camera angles show that it's been cut. All yours for £180. Nice -

Double Eagle M904 - beeping 2 times after shooting and will not reset

Brand new = Warranty. Call your retailer? -
The upper and lower use different polymers - the lower being stiffer/harder, the upper is slightly softer and has a touch more flex. There is a slight difference in colouring and finish too if you look closely. Both are excellent quality - the best I've seen on an out of the box Airsoft gun The bolt stop has the mag well protrusion, so if you have the appropriate KWA GB with the Cutoff electronics and associated MS120C Mags, you should be able to add the bolt stop feature onto the gun. Luke *sort of* approves (I replaced my piston with no ill effects to date but I will keep an eye on it)

Difference between LCT, E&L and CYMA AKs74
Speedbird_666 replied to devross's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
The only thing I don't like about Cyma AKs (having owned a CM.045) is the pot metal used in the folding stock hinge/rear trunnion. Really decent gun otherwise. -
Looks like the same fare spat out of the same OEM factory as Specna, Evolution and Lancer Tactical.

You can stick one in a counterweight pouch and velcro to the back of the helmet, then run the airflow tubes internally (through the bump helmet vent holes) to the goggles. *Edit* Something like this: -
Got the EVE-4 which is pretty much identical with the exception of the Stock and fore end length. I posted my thoughts here:

What spec is the 'NATO' dovetail? I can only find reference to 3/8in or 11mm dovetail used on commercial firearms/Airguns.

Airsoft business opportunity - Callington, Plymouth-ish
Speedbird_666 replied to Tommikka's topic in General Discussion
A shame, but not surprising - paintball as a sport and industry has been in a sustained and steady decline for well over a decade now. Way too expensive for kids parties, Stag-dos are not exactly repeat customers nor sustainable income in the current climate, not enough interest to continue walk-on days at many sites (thus removing the tournament player pipeline). Most of the UK Tournament Series are long gone (NSPL, Dartford 7's, M25 Series etc). The major forums are pretty much dead (P8ntballer & PBNation). Even NXL World Cup seemed a bit - mediocre - compared to years past (I know the hurricane didn't help. Nice to see SD Dynasty on amazing form with Ollie Lang). I hope OnTarget can successfully partner with someone or offload the site for Airsoft use. -
Looks alright, although I won't play there as there isn't a brain bucket on the market that will fit my massive noggin (helmets mandatory for 'elf and safety). Irony is - all the FB pictures have peeps wearing various cheapo repo lids, but I would wager none of them are in any way impact safety rated. Otherwise - it looks similar to the Bunker in Portsmouth.
-
If you are referring to the bit that sits on the motor shaft between the pinion and motor can, then yes, they are easy to transfer. It's getting the pinion off in the first place that can be the problem. You might need a pinion pulling tool if it's a press fit.
-
The Hera Arms gun is actually made by ICS, so you would be looking specifically for ICS grips if you want a drop-in fit. Why? Because ICS has some funky fitment standards and finding a non-ICS grip to fit without having to deal with dremelling/filing and potentially messing up the motor angle can be a real bitch** ICS parts can be sourced from Fire-Support - look for anything that would normally be fitted as 'stock' on their EBB models (Not CS4/CXP non-EBB models - they use slightly different geometries again) If in doubt, call Fire-Support about compatibility before ordering. There have been Hera Arms that popped-up in the classifieds that have had the stock/grip swapped out (note the poor fit of the G&G grip) **Source: I have 4 ICS M4 Models in my collection.

Looks to me like an early JG/Golden Eagle. Might be DBoys though. -

Bit steep for a two-tone respray when you could get a brand new, unmolested gun for £40 more.
