I bought a second hand dell xps a couple of years back and it was rock solid, played everything I threw at it and was easily within your budget. Ebay is a good place to look.

If budget is unlimited and you're happy to be paying nasally for the brand then I'd say yes, go for a Vaio. Or a Dell XPS (and put up with the horrible customer service when it inevitably goes wrong).
If budget and performance are your driving factors then Scan and Novatech would be my recommendations. The Novatech i7 based ones around £700 are pretty damn good and I've always had good service from them (we used them for work machines for a while).

The one you linked is much better than a Lenovo Ideapad Z580, regarding specs.
I've never heard of 3XS though, so can't comment on anything other than the specs and price. No idea what quality they are or how long they're likely to last.
From experience, here's a few brands I'd avoid/look out for;
Sony VAIO - I had a Sony VAIO, was my favourite laptop I had. Wasn't the best spec-wise, but build quality and ergonomics, it was amazing. It was also the most expensive I've had. I could play games on it with it being on my bed, without it getting hot and overheating. Reason I got rid of it was because I dropped it and fucked it up.
ASUS - Good specs:price ratio, you get more for the same cost as another brand laptop. I'd say poor build quality though, the keyboard/keys were flimsy and the keyboard started to bend inwards in the middle. The speakers went 'rattly' after about a year or so. The subwoofer port stopped working completely, so after just over a year, I returned it to Amazon for a full refund.
Toshiba - Had two of these, both the same. Worked well, quite good quality, better than ASUS, worse than Sony VAIO. Bear in mind, these will not survive if you drop them down the stairs, I accidentally tested this twice.
HP - Avoid like the plague. My dad had one, my step-dad had one, my brother and sister both had one, my nan and grandad had one. They all, without fail, overheated and fucked the processor within a year. Not the best build quality, no too expensive, but seem to have massive cooling issues.
If anyone else wants to go against what I've said, for whatever reason, feel free, this is from my experience, of 1 laptop from each of the brands (apart from Toshiba and HP).
Finally, if I was going to get myself another laptop, which I might for Uni, it would definitely be a Sony VAIO.

Check out novatech- I know the people who own the company very well so I'm probably a bit biased but I've never had any issues with their stuff and it's all much better priced than alternatives that i've seen or used and they cater for a variety of budgets.

Scan are fine, IIRC it's who I got my PC off. You're probably tired of my interjections at this point, so I'll leave the others to it.
Also, MACS HAVE BEEN RULED OUT ALREADY.
To avoid a shitstorm as happened on facebook, posts suggesting or trying to lead on an argument of 'mac Vs PC' will be deleted.

Don't know why I didn't respond to this earlier, she actually fits perfectly, and feeds flawlessly, it looks and feels right which is a big plus as well.
I'm hoping to cannibalise my pulse rifles' ammo counter and mount it on top (if I can find a way to get it to start off at 150 would be a huge plus). The plan is also to mount an M203 (wanted to do a GLM but the weight and size was just too much) with the trigger mounted just in front of the M60's trigger so that I don't have to move my hand at all.
Hoping to be fully finished early next year, gonna need that long in the gym to heft it for a full day without stress injuries lol.
It will be a what the hell gun, which should hopefully turn quite a few heads, I've decided that her designation will be XP60 (clever huh), and her name will be Emma.

Very curious to see how the P90 mags work with the M60. And how it looks in the end.
How much space is on an L85's front rails?
THIS MUCH
(Not shown - flash light and grip-pod on left hand side)
Year old photo, about a week after I fitted the RIS to the L85. It was my first ever rail system on a rifle. Used once, never again.

Having learned of Ed's hatred of non real styled guns during the NAE I'd like everybody to post up their guns which have absolutely no bearing on real life styles, I'll start:
first off a "Quite literally" M4 pistol Ed and I believe Ian had a look at it at the NAE, and hopefully it'll be finished by the end of the month with the Judge loadout.
Second off, an M60 modified (still in early phases) to work with P90 mags as the box mags reliability was laughable and I hated having to carry the gun so far away from my chest.

Going for the second line look?
Pretty much what my cousin's unit were using last November, only they didn't have the flashhider at that point.
I've been messing around with my L85, trying to optimise it for CQB games. It's not exactly what you'd call... "traditional"...
Thing is, both set ups works brilliantly (and if they winds up traditionalists, all the better ). All I need now are some backup/folding iron sights. I do admit that the current flashlight is awful though, so next time Firesupport have the replica LLM01 in, I'll try to get one.

I don't usually like to engage in an argument or discussion such as this but given I've had two people paint me as 'doing it wrong', here I go.
I had the sight before I started airsoft. I'd need a fairly fucking good reason not to use it – the fact that I use high caps isn't one of them. Both comments are fairly silly things to say, if you had the sight or had the money to buy the sight (and it was indeed what you wanted) then why not use it? Using a red dot does not make me any less or more accurate that it would if I used my iron sights only. Also red dots are used primarily for faster targeting anyway.
The reason I use high caps is because it simply means less magazines – you also make the assumption that lowcaps = realism = better. This whole sport is subjective and I don't see any pros or logic in your last sentence. Are you sure you are not being elitist or at least tieing 'high end gear' with people who want the full challenge of realism?

The Leprechaun! reacted to Hubert in World of Tanks
I'm not great with boxing analogies, so I can't really say.
The Leo is more agile and slightly faster, with a gun with better penetration (but it's not much. We're talking mm here). But, the Chally makes up for the lack of penetration with range and accuracy, and having even more armour.
Ed, Challenger 1 took out tanks at 3.2 miles/ 5.1 KM
If I was going to pick an all round best tank, I'd probably say the Centurion. It pretty much laid the foundation for what we know as the MBT (the triangle of protection, firepower and mobility), it was incredibly reliable and robust, and it can still take upgrades. They're still in service in some places - with 120mm guns and modern electronics. Not too shabby for something that was originally designed in 1944.

The Leprechaun! reacted to Hubert in World of Tanks
Actually, the lower-hull of a tank - the sides where the suspension and road wheels are - is pretty thin. They were designed under the assumption that they'd rarely be hit (tanks either hull down and hidden or driving flat out), but IEDs weren't factored in during the design process. Which is why recently we've started seeing side-skirts re-appear. A hit there from a 90mm gun, or even an 76mm HV gun should be enough to damage the tank. A few of the Abrams lost in Iraq were due to RPGs hitting previously unknown weakspots next to the fuel tanks.
The Chally's turret is among the best protected turret armour around. Frontally, there's a good 2+ feet between the external armour surface and inner "shell" of the turret, not to mention a layer of something like kevlar inside to catch spalling. The roof is thicker than others, as the tank was designed under the assumption that it would spend most of its time hull-down and having artillery shells rain down on it.
Not to mention the fact that the Challenger 2's fire-control handset was designed after the PS1 controller. Clearly designed with the gamer generation in mind
