Mr Monkey Nuts got a reaction from djben9 in Facebook Bans Airsoft Gun Sales
I don't see why everyone is menstruating over this? EBay, Gumtree, and pretty much every other non gun centric media source banned sales years ago.
It's a good thing for the community, it will draw sales back towards the forums.

Do you have any actual evidence of this? Discussion groups aren't actually affected.

.... only you can make that decision.
For me they mostly look silly, with some very sorted loadouts they can look very cool, for most; they just look like a plantpot shoved ontop of a kid head.
This looks good:
This does not:

Do guns normally jam? I though they only jammed when shot with flat batteries?

So long as you can hit the target, there is no "correct" way, just different.

Mr Monkey Nuts reacted to Baz JJ in Milsim Calendar
I got a bit fed up of people trying to work out what milsim games are coming from the different UK organisers and a couple of established forums and FB pages telling me it's all too difficult.
So I've started a Facebook group called Milsim UK to act as a repository for an event calendar and general milsim questions, gossip and news.
The calendar lives on the Internet rather than FB and is nothing fancy but does its job. Its open for any milsim organiser to use, so hopefully the spread of games it contains will grow (after all its free advertising for them).
The calendar lives here:

Mr Monkey Nuts got a reaction from proffrink in Leaving Gas in Gas Grenades
No gas mags should be stored full, it's one of those stupid airsoft myths that have no basis.
Seals under pressure will fail significantly quicker than a seal under no pressure.
The back pressure closing the valve puts pressure on the seal deforming it, the longer it's deformed the more likely to stay deformed or even tear. And the same if not more importantly for the Base seal.
Leaving the mag empty but lubricated with a tiny drop of oil will prevent mags leaking. And prolonged the life of the mag.
Anecdotally since using this method, I have never had any leaks from any of my 4 g5 mags or in any of my 3 TM mags which used to leak like a biatch.
I think it was one of the bosses from patrol Base who wrote a proper spiel, I will try to dig it out.

Mr Monkey Nuts got a reaction from ak2m4 in Using a RIF without UKARA at an airsoft site
But it didn't did it? I can walk out of any air rifle shop this afternoon with a .177 RIF Pistol or rifle, whith nothing more than an id and a credit card often for less than £100.
I can walk out of any paint balling shop with a realistic looking marker, ok may not be milspec but still realistic to the eyes of the layperson.
ASG Dan Wesson for example, .177 No defence, reason or rational required to buy today as long as its face to face.
.6mm from airsoft retailer, same gun, same box, same factory, only difference is low power shells and a farction of a larger barrel diameter.
Visually identical, Both RIFs.
Only Airsoft seem to acknowledge that the vcra even exists, and we get so worked up over frankly insignificant things that it makes a joke of the community.
The whole UKARA was original devised so a select few retailers could exercise their dominance and control over the sport, its changed and moulded over the years but to say the game would not exist or airsoft guns would be outlawed without it is frankly moronic.
The very big issue that the game came under the spotlight for, was selling guns to kids. that is the primary aim of ukara and if they concentrated on just not selling to kids like the airgun community does; then the whole ordeal would be so much more effective and imho boost the sport.
(im not saying kids cant shoot airsoft guns, but all ukara was interested in was banning them from buying them)

Mr Monkey Nuts got a reaction from Monty in The 'What have you just bought' Thread
I just picked one of these up. I don't like carrying a big obvious military looking bag in public and my last cheap holdall fell to bits. This is pretty robust, hold a plate carrier, belt and several layers of clothing, with everything I could need for a whole weekend I suspect. the 40 is about right for a normal day trip. If I Split the reciever of my 14" m4 it fits in the bag discreetly, but struggles to hold my 18" mk12. Its waterproof, robust, discreet and has shoulder straps!, winner winner chicken dinner.

Cyma m14 is only £85 from taiwangun at the moment too.

Any decent AEG will have good range. Cyma M14's are quite nice. My G&P XM177 has a firefly bucking and nub combination with a tight bore and I'm getting excellent results with it.

What weight bbs were being used when it chronos low?
280fps is about right for .28 running 330 on .2

Empty it. Dump pouches are for the immediate firefight, once the fight is won or lost, move all the spent pouches back into your rig. I try to put mine upside down so I know they are spent. It's also a grear way to make sure you donot leave any behind.

The most accurate way is to put a longer barrel in the hop up, and mark it with penxil and measure it.

Other then leaky tanks etc which is easily fixed etc (lots of info on the Facebook owners page)
your cocking arm will thank you!!
Also mine didn't like any other shells but TM ones

Mr Monkey Nuts reacted to jcheeseright in Honest opinions - TM M870
I loved mine, the noise alone when racking the slide was enough.
That said, they do have issues, the tanks leak eventually; mine took about 2 months of regular use to develop a slow leak that I fixed with a bolt through the middle pin hole. The plastics aren't brilliant, they're not awful either though, as Proffrink said though- do not fall over on it! Loading arms as mentioned have been known to be a weak point, though mine personally didn't fail.
the 3/6 shot switch is a nice gimmick, I left mine in 3 shot mode most of the time for the better gas efficiency and 10 shots per shell rather than 5. the ability to slam fire a SHITLOAD of BBs very rapidly scares the crap out of people too.
I sold mine because I just don't play enough CQB to get the full benefit of it, but if I had a decent regular CQB site I'd pick another one up without hesitation.
