  1. I'm seriously considering selling a gun and getting a full length TM M870 gas gun.

I love(d) my £40 DE Tri shot until it broke, stock just shered and fell off, still shoots great. I enjoyed playing shoty, I didn't feel handicapped with trishot, well no more than the G5, but the cheep plastic and "stigma" we're some things I didn't like.

Now the TM isnt hugely expensive it seems, but is it really worth getting over another cheeper DE or the metal cyma?

I have read a lot about leaking resevrois and the general consensus is out about its ability to handle propane, but what other flaws do they have, what other issues may I face?

What's the sound like? Does it sound like a fly farting or is there a decent crack like a spring shotgun? Is there any recoil?

So all in all Honest review from those that have used and lived with them? Pound for pound, Worth it?

  2. BB Bastards and those are really good (leave almost no residue in the barrel and are really bubble-free when you crack them open) but they're expensive as hell.

    Not really.

    .30 bb bastards = £13.75 / 2000 = 0.7 pence per shot (price includes delivery)

    .30 Blasters = £14.99 / 3000 = 0.5 pence per shot (excluding delivery)

Not that much in it, certainly not enough to call them expensive as hell. Maybe if your throwing 4000 a game down range the cost will soon add up, but if your throwing that many bbs a game, you need to learn to shoot better, no bb will fix that.

  3. The standard mantra is to leave gas mags gassed all the time and they shouldn't leak.

There is a train of thought that say all gas mags should be left empty (but lubed). the rationing being a seal under pressure will fail quicker than a seal under no load. I have had no leaks since leaving mine un-gassed, and yours being sat that length of time with no leaks leads me to think there is some truth in the concept.

  4. Ok so it turns out Nuprol being WE, being useless, clones the Surefire X300 and called it the X200. The SF X300 Ultra, and called it just the X300.

So Phoenix do indeed make a holster I need after all. Great sucess!

My last Glock clip didn't fit my TM, how do you mod it to work? the tolerances were just too tight for it to fit properly, even after reheating and moulding.

Anyone ever had experience of modding a fobus paddle to molle?

  5. I finally found some holsters I like and work well with my TM Glock, the WAS universal and a modified Chinese clone. Great, only took 18 months.

Then I decided all opor8rz need a torch on their pistol, (research shows it makes the bbs shoot 33.3% further after all)

So a spontaneous trip to Patrol Base and I come home with a spanking Nuprol NX200 lamp. Now my pistol won't fit in any of my favoured holsters.

It will fit in my Fobus 21+torch holster, but its paddle and I want it on my belt, cus opor8rz.

What are my options? I looked into kydex but cant find anyone offering an attachment for a nx200, only a nx300 which is slightly different shaped head.

Any good custom kydex makers or is there an off the shelf alternative?

My main option currently is an SR25 Ten speed pouch, which is less than ideal.

    Much love, Mr Monkey xx

  6. The problem I found was that the cotton took up dye very nicely, but the polyester didn't as you can see, so the original stitching will still stand out with a strong contrast, OK it's only a hairline, but I did find it frustracting.

You could double team it with poly dye first and cotton dye second, but by the time you have bought the ubacs and the dye you have almost bought new shadowglam.

The black comes out more of a deep navy.

I just used hand dye Dylon from the range couple of quid max.

  7. I have been using propane dry recently, I keep finding that no matter how I lube it, the first dozen shots sprays my hop and barrel with stupid amounts of silicon, which is less than ideal!

Just clean it before a game and re lube. Maybe a drop through the day as required.

I have the airsoft innovations and the mad bull nipples, much of a muchness, can't fault either.

Some people claim their TM can handle propane, many claim it can't, I have a alloy slide, but the tm nozzle has survived both propane and co2.

  8.

This guy will cut any size you like: http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/bobbyboy0177 I can look up the one I put in my scope if you're interested.

This sandwhiched between the outer scope and one of these, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FLIP-UP-LENS-COVER-CAP-Scope-Telescopic-Sight-Yellow-Clear-See-Through-Filter-/330629921962?var=&hash=item4cfb143caa:m:mSn8hS4gwulT8vajbY1B7kA

Simple, 2 min job, and if it ever does break or need cleaning its slips off without dismantling the scope.

plus scope covers are l33t as flip!

  9. Reload speed is all about skills, not equipment.

To be brutally honest, if your skills are so le33t that you are looking to shave half a second reload time, then you wouldn't be asking this question.

Your best options for what you think you want, although they are pricey are HSGI Taco or Blue Force Gear Ten Speed.

Buy what you like, its your dosh, but be aware that polymer fast mags will make no real world difference to your reload speed.

And to add, polymer fast mags are noisy, test it yourslef, get your mag and run it against some plastic or a table, its a plastic on plastic scrape, it will make a noise.

  10. I have been thinking about getting one as well and am swaying towards the Swat as you can use it any where. Thing that puts me off of an impact grenade is using it in woodland where there's the possibility of it not going off

For woodland, disposable cardboard pyro is by far the best option, you can launch them much further and its not the end of the world if they do get lost. The underarm only rules still apply, it's a big heavy chunk of metal at the end of the day.

  11. Airsoft has three distinct aspects, Skirmishing, Dress up and Tinkering, although they are all mutually linked, none are more or less important than the others.

If you asked on Airsoft mechanics, i would hazard a majority rarely played, if you asked a russian loadout group, the majority would rarely play. Its not a bad thing as these airsofters are paying into and supporting the industry. It's a very good thing we are so diverse we can not tie ourselves into one direction.

Take Car owners clubs 50% just want a social gathering of likeminded people and a driveabout once in a while, 50% want to know every intricate detail about the car down to ridiculous details. All are accepted and bond unanimously.

Personally i have donned my kit more at home than at a site recently, because in the wake of the Paris Shootings, i cant help but throw the thought that as we go out skirmishing we are replicating the hell these people lived and died; for fun. Saying it out loud seem abhorrent to me.

There is no prize, there is no award, there is no reason or purpose, we are just going out to replicate killing each other for shits and giggles.

And i'm not alone in thinking this, many other players I have spoken to share this reluctance. Of course we are too deeply involved now to just quit so carry on and bury our moral objections.
