  1. Hasn't it got the Ares electronic PCB trigger, negating the need for a mosfet?
  2. If you are falling foul at the body pins it probably best you stop now!

  4. My gas mags got pulled by customs. The package was opened and one of the magazine boxes got cut open down the tape. It also happened to be empty of gas, I had to have a little chuckle to myself that somewhere down the line a naive customs officer got a face full of green gas when he hit the valve release. They eventually came out, no issues. I suspect they may have been pulled due to being full of liquid.
  5. You could always get some paracord and make you own. There are plenty of videos on youtube. Its actually pretty fun too. (if you have no life and sit at home eating doritos and crying at 4 in the morning .. FML)
  6. ugggh the rev counter is a vile place! BCF is the forum, but even that's gone downhill since all the NSR owners died out.
  7. To be honest would you really be happy allowing your very young children to be shot at by a fully grown adult? And I would guess that Under 18 only events would be worse, the 14-16 year old players I have met have been horrendous overkilling cheating lil bitches, I don't want to play with them let alone allow a younger more vulnerable kid to play with them. I would be sticking to back yard plinking if it were my kids. Even better, buy a cheep chinese air rifle and teach them proper gun control, respect and target shooting.

actually, the airsoft did the least damage to the eye...

however at 13 min, the one he is using is not even penetrating a can? unless they are using thicker/harder cans over there?

It's also a very valid point he is making that these injuries rarely happens at airsoft events (as we got security rules) but rather when messing about at home. AND quite importantly that ricochet seem to be responsibly for a lot of the injuries..

      and yes indeed, very intere...

very interesting video indeed, thank you very much! :)

  9. The issue with most acrylics is they will still shatter with a luckily placed bb shot. The beauty of PET is it remains flexible and should be less vulnerable to damage and it's free.
  10. My new torch got "shot out" in the first 10 min .... Poo! But it still works and managed to replace the lense with a bit of old blaster bb bottle.
  11. Except of course it's not actually yours to use, and it's a grey area about wether it's even owned by your father or owned by HMP. Does it retain any identifiable markings? The terror threat level has risen again and this type of uniform is highly valuable to unsavoury types. your father should understand that. Regardless you shouldn't be wearing it in the same way you shouldn't be wearing any millitary insignia or coloured beret.
  12. I actually saw someone with one at a skirmish last night, it's not as small as I was expecting, The hand guard was about the same diameter as a standard RIS, not very sleek or concealable. Much fatter than a NSR hand guard. It also looks like it retained the cheep feel Ares polymer, which is better than most, but not as good as G&G imo. It also runs a stupidly small battery, in the compartment where the buffer tube should be. Smaller than a PEQ box, so your going to have to be swapping them out regularly if your a trigger happy fiend. I was actually very underwhelmed with it. I didn't get to shoot it but we had a good look and gossip about it. You could convert an M4 to look similar for about £100, with a keymod rail and a stinger style stock.
  13. I really can't stand player marshals! You either play or marshal, I have yet to meet one that remain impartial enough to do both!

Actually on hindsight I have met a few very good player marshals, maybe I should re phrase my venting to: I can't stand 12 year old power mad marshals who get prissy when they are losing.

I don't think anyone under 18 should be marshalling anyway so in that case yeah agreed

      team flex

      I played against one

HE was sniping, bright orange jacket, thought he was a marshal so I didn't shoot, only to get shot by him... -_-

  14. This frustrates me how risk averse airsoft is when ultimately, we shoot each other with bbs, often in the face. But god forbid we slap someone with a rubber knife! Did we not all play slaps and, knuckles and whip people with tea towels?
  15. It's only been available about a week now so there may not be much info out yet. I think PB skirmished it last weekend so may be worth looking at their recent blogs and face book posts.
  16. I placed an order for an Element M300 from Ali Express a week or so ago, but while i'm waiting for it to arrive I need a torch, the site I play has rooms of complete darkness. A quick trip to wilkos and I picked up a pretty impressive torch for £10. Its sold as a Bike light, but boasts 3 watt CREE led. has a high output, low output and a strobe function and its incredibly bright when shone into a retina. it has a Metal body with a plastic lense. Combined with a Weaver mount that cost £10, ive got a pretty solid, practical and tactical torch for not a lot of cash. I shall do a full comparative review of it next to the element sf clone, when it arrives. http://www.wilko.com/bike-parts+accessories/wilko-bike-light-front-cree-led-high-intensity-black/invt/0342373?VBMST=cree http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171335335004?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  17. I recently placed a big order with them, it took them a few days to process the order, but once the item was shipped it landed in the UK within 24 hours, Customs took another week to clear and ParcelFarce took three days to inform me about the charges, but thats not samoon's fault. The items were really well packaged and the customs declaration were well below retail prices so ended up paying a little less VAT than I was expecting. Very Please so far 8/10 Now any moron can take money and post stuff out, the real test of a dealer is how they handle issues. One of my gas magazines came out of the box with a broken feed lip, the smashed parts were in the polythene bag and the box was undamaged and sealed, I can only assume that this was a breakage at the factory and not by samoon or customs. 5/10 I scoured their website and found very few contact details, something im usually very cautious of from UK websites. I found their Facebook page and sent them a message direct, a practice I generally abhor, but when in rome .... 2/10 8 hours later, they send a message back in quite good english, saying the new feed lip was in the post to me with a working tracking number. 5 working days with a weekend in the middle and a new feel lip pops through my door. 9/10. Very impressed with the company, the site and their service, I will not be hesitating to use them again, shipping was expensive, but it came half way across the globe in less than 24 hours, so I cant quibble at that. Overall 9/10, Highly recommended!
  18. I apologise if my statements have caused an offence and seem patronising, they are not aimed an any individuals in particular. However my point still stands that this is a step above and beyond "first aid", if you are going to be carrying this equipment, you need to be trained and prepared to manage this level of patient and injury. I have no doubts that as adults who display a level of maturity, both Ian and Nick may be capable of managing these patients with appropriate training, however I am very aware that not all Airsoft players are mature and adult enough to know the difference, I just don't want this thread dramatising and idealising the advanced "gucci" stuff to the younger generation and the less medically experienced, players who may read this and assume that a CAT is a standard level of first aid intervention required on the field.
  19. I just had a brilliant idea for a cqb game, two teams, one armed, the other with modelling balloon swords, the armed team have to pop the balloon and the sword team just need a mele kill. Could be a laugh!
  20. I just had a brain fart .... The last few times I have had feeding issues its been because I have forgotten to place the spring back on the hop up, meaning the unit was pushing forward and not allowing the mag to seat properly. it may be worth double checking its there and trying one if its not.
  21. Yes, yes I would. Blindly applying a tourniquet or hacking into someone's leg is only going to cause significant problems further down the line. And it's not just the motor skill of applying the physical tools, it's the overall patient management and incident management that can't be taught over the internet. How can you tell that this is life threatening bleed and not just a bad bleed? How much blood loss are you looking for how are you judging it? Can you tell the difference between 1 litre of blood and 3 litres of blood once it's on the ground? Because it's significantly harder than you can imagine it is. We have left the realms of first aid and moved into a different game altogether. It's not as simple as just applying a bandage. I would much prefer you get the appropriate training if you feel compelled that this level of major haemorrhage is something that concerns you.
  22. Where can I get a buffer tube with holes in for rear wiring?

Is there not a channel you can run the wires through rather than drilling? There should be a gap in the underneath attachment point and a channel running up the stock tube to run the wires below the washer thing - which should have a notch cut off the bottom for the wires to run under
