  1. For long term storage (months of no use) you want to keep lipo's with a reasonable amount of charge in them, but not low or fully charged. They gradually lose a bit of power over time, so storing them nearly empty can kill them outright and fully charged can cause them to puff up. But otherwise just keep them disconnected in a non-conductive box. Used to do RC racing, someone had a metal case full of NI-MH's that they had lined with electrical tape, the inevitable happened and one shorted out. Sounded like a bomb going off, tore the case apart!

Well; you buy several at a time, not just one. ;)

Most retailers nowadays have £5-9 postage regardless of what it is or how much it weighs.

I've paid £6 postage for a single hop bucking before, so £7 for several kilos worth of ammo is a bargain, TBT.

Unfortunately; if you have to use Bios, then things aren't on your side.

      You'll either get

      a) Cheap ammo with cheap postage = bad quality & will ruin your weapon

      B) Cheap ammo & lots of postage = You're screwed unless you order in quantity or live near the supplier

      c) Costly ammo & free/cheap postage = Hopefully good quality, but bad if you pray & spray.

IMO, Ammo is in the same category as barrels: you *can* buy cheap, but don't complain when things don't work out well.

  2. Annoyingly I want to get some stuff from TG (pp-19 maybe..) so need an actual UKARA number to stop my stuff from being burned/crushed/whatever customs do. Guess I'll take my form with me next Sunday and get it stamped then send it off to Zeroone or whatever to get it added on, cheers!
  3. You can get adjustable FMA fast helmets in large size, I've got a big head and after messing around with the padding a bit it fits quite nicely.
  4. My UKARA number expired a couple of months ago and I no longer go to the site which I'm registered to, my new site is UKARA registered so can I just fill out a new form and have them stamp it? Not really sure how the database works in cases like this, if it will clash with my original entry or if they will give me an entirely new number etc.
  5. Last skirmish I had a play around with someone's tavor, love the way they look, shame performance was a bit naff... Saw a type 98b once, looked amazing with a stubby silencer, had to have a go with that as well! Generally if it's bullpup and not sa80 family then it's interesting to me, some of the slightly more exotic lmg's too. I think at least one person has shown interest in my f2000 every time it's gone out, it looks so odd you can't help but notice it.
  6. That's really weird! I got mine from here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aluminum-NVG-Mount-for-GoPro-HERO-2-3-3-Military-Helmet-Mount-Combat-OS103-/400715951894?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item5d4c882f16 Looks identical so not sure how that's happened..
  7. Hmm, that's weird..got a picture? Only problem on mine was that the mount wouldn't fit into the NVG holder very well, had to file a bit and then stick some tape either side to stop it from wobbling.
  8. Nvg gopro mount + sj4000 camera. Nice and cheap but the picture quality is good. I had to pad the mount out a bit to make it fit correctly in mine.
  9. Yeah they look ok imo, general rule with all batteries is never leave them charging unattended for long to make sure they don't suddenly puff up loads, but bet they'll be totally fine. I seem to remember reading somewhere that if a lipo goes bad you're supposed to chuck it in a bucket of salt water..can't remember why though Best bet is probably just to throw it into the garden and let it do its thing, fumes they lot off when burning are toxic as hell so you wouldn't want to be too close hah
  10. Got a picture of the batteries? If they're badly swollen they definitely shouldn't be charged again, might be completely fine though. Individual Lipo cells have a max voltage of 4.2v per cell when fully charged, so the 8.4v (2s) is the cutoff for lipo's marked as 7.4v, as they have 2 cells, 11.1v lipo's have 3. Not sure how that particular charger works but if it's lipo compatible it will cut out when finished, trickle charging a lipo could make it go bang. Charging rate should be at about 2amps for the 2000mah and 1.3 amps for the 1300mah. They could potentially be done at a higher rate then this but keeping at that will ensure a longer life.
  11. I'd avoid fabric holsters, tried a WAS dropleg one before getting a fobus, it cost me a magazine. They're not always very secure and can occasionally press down on the mag release, or at least that's what I found with my G19. Stick with plastic holsters, much more secure imo.
  12. Not sure how WE compare to KSC G19 dimensions, but had to sand down my fobus quite a lot to get mine to fit. Good holster now that it works though.
  13. Held a Ares TAR-21 today..I know they're crap internally but ergonomically it's pretty much perfect for me. Is there only a sportline version or is there a proline as well? Struggling to find it if there is.

Never been a fan of blow back anyway, something I tend to avoid in guns to be honest

    3. Sitting Duck

      Sitting Duck

me too - either flies/falls to bits or on G&G's blowback boxes can cause cracking of shell much earlier than non-blow-back boxes

pistols might be different but aeg's - nah its fine, it's my toy gun so I will jolt the thing in my hand as I shoot peew peew poww poww peew peew

Hahaha, good I'm not the only one who does this then :D

  14. Not used hicaps in a while but the G&G ones were always rock solid. Managed the snap the spring in one but only after I dropped it in mud and then over-wound it when it jammed, simply coiled the spring round a bit more and it was good to go again.
  15. If your AOE is out and you're running an 11.1v lipo on full metal teeth, your gearbox is in for a bad time. Previously the piston stripped because it was a weak point (which in a piston can be a good thing), but now that it's been strengthened you will quite likely be looking at something else breaking.
  16. Cant comment on the TM's as I've never owned one, but I did have an ICS MP5 A5. Very solidly built externals, bit of stock wobble but nothing terrible, ICS internals are of a good standard as well. Rate of fire on a 7.4 lipo was pretty respectable for a stock gun. Will do you well for a first gun and should last a good long time without being changed inside.
  17. What fps is it firing at currently? If it's already around the 350 mark on 0.2g bb's, do not increase the FPS to compensate for heavier ammo as that would be cheating, and just a daft thing to do for several reasons. That is unless it's been locked to semi auto to be used as a DMR.
  18. Fairly sure that's not legal (when purchasing) due to being easily removable. Also you'd never find a reputable retailer which would agree to that.
  19. I'd honestly say you're better off going by yourself the first few times, ask people about their guns, about 95% of airsoft players love talking about their stuff so talk to them about it. It's the easiest way of getting to know other players! I've never been to a site which is even vaguely hostile to new lone players, it's simply not in anyone's interests, they need new blood to keep going!
  20. < Another owner of a large head, got a Helikon polish boonie from Military 1st in large size, fits pretty well.
  21. £110 for a CYMA MP5 SD6 is a pretty good price for it. They're well known for good quality AK's and crap M4's, not completely sure about MP5's or EBB's though. In that price bracket the other main options are G&G M4 Combat machines, ICS M4 sportlines, CYMA AK's and JG G36C's. Depends what sort of thing you're after really.
  22. Got a helikon belt (like nearly all my stuff), costs about £7. Have ended up using it nearly all of the time
  23. Galaxy mp5 for £200? Massively overpriced. http://www.taiwangun.com/en/sub-machine-guns/g-5k-galaxy?from=listing&campaign-id=19 £53.87 from TG...
  24. Cant guarantee compatibility, but Dytac 120rd midcaps are nice quality, always fed perfectly for me.
