  1. Great, I'll have a look around on ebay. Also how is the piston head attached to the piston, is it just glued? As my piston is in pretty much perfect condition is there any way to re-use by removing the head it or am I going to have to just get a new one?
  2. After many months of my M4 being useless (been shooting at ~200fps) I've opened up the gearbox to try and work out what's up. Everything looks to be fine except the compression is total crap, putting my finger over the nozzle there's practically no resistance at all. Stock piston is 15 tooth (1 steel) with a single o-ring ported plastic head, can I simply swap these out with similar aftermarket ones? Also the spring guide is a simple plastic one with a washer, is it worth swapping this out for a metal bearing guide while I'm at it?
  3. You can get a TM Five-seven for about £130, not used one myself but they're supposed to be excellent. WE are a bit mixed in how well they turn out, TM are much more reliable.
  4. Very much doubt that's the problem with mine, considering that I cant get it to fire in semi outside of the receiver let alone installed.
  5. I'd say get this mask instead as the straps are a bit more secure from my experience http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AIRSOFT-LOWER-MESH-FACE-MASK-VARIOUS-COLOURS-S-ARMS-/221612014881?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item33991afd21 Goggles are what make the difference between walking back to the re-spawn area or having your eyeball popped. You may want to spend more then £3.79 on them. Bolle, ESS and revision are all good brands of eye protection, if you really want mesh try to get something of a reasonable quality but it's one bit of kit not to scrimp on.

    UKARA Mystery

I agree completely that there is a great deal of confusion around the legality of this hobby. But I don't see much point in taking an elitist attitude of looking down on other people for not knowing any better when at every stage of purchasing you have UKARA shoved in your face.
  7. Holy shit that's an amazing idea, I've still got my old swimming badges hanging around somewhere. Going to find the oldest, crappiest one I've got and velcro it up.

    UKARA Mystery

...because UKARA is the most easily obtained recognized defence? Even customs recognize it, so why would it be surprising that most people think UKARA is the go-to defence? 99.9% of people aren't going to read the small print on their car insurance, so I wouldn't expect them to go reading the VCRA either.
  9. This was the one I got: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320855711228?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  10. Not saying a 7.4v 2300mah lipo isn't good (use a 2200mah meself) but that guy might be talking crap, unless there was something actually wrong with it a 9.6v or 8.4v nimh is fine. 7.4v lipo will however give you a slightly improved trigger response and have a much greater capacity for it's size.
  11. Got the fobus working in the end, took an absolute shitload of sanding though. Still requires quite a tug to pull it out (giggity) but at least it's functioning.
  12. /revive Needs some finishing touches, such as finding something to pad out the rifles as they're all wonky like.
  13. From the tiny picture it's a bit hard to see (cant expand it for some reason) but that looks like an ops-core mandible, don't think there's an airsoft version. They cost a good few hundred dollars. Edit: Cant even find them for sale now, thought I did before but may well be wrong.
  14. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AirFET-NB-non-braked-MOSFET-airsoft-AEG-switch-/191487302968?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item2c95885d38 Cheap and simple non-ab MOSFET, but does the job. Got one in my f2000, very simple to install and will protect your contacts nicely.
  15. Unless I'm mistaken it's always going to arc a bit unless you've got a mosfet installed, a plug and play one will give you some extra functions like burst etc, but will not protect your contacts. For it to really do anything you're going to have to solder it on to the switch mechanism, lots of diagrams out there which will tell you what to do. Pretty easy with some basic soldering. Madbull 60 hop rubber is red and comes as a pack of two, guess it's probably that. Not used them personally so cant comment on how good they are.
  16. Fobus arrived today, way too tight a fit, fuck. Have started sanding it down, not helped much so far, but will persevere...
  17. Yeah that's absolutely fine, just don't go waving it around in public and you're good to go.
  18. Might be a bit tricky getting hold of an F2000 new, don't know if stocks have improved at all but for a good while they were almost impossible to find. Think I heard something about legal issues surrounding cybergun, possibly due to G&G selling an un-trademarked version which still looked identical to the real FN F2000. Might be wrong though.
  19. The older ones had a problem with the cut off lever, shape wasn't quite right so it would jam. Got mine Spring last year and it's got the slightly revised lever which doesn't have that issue, even with the older version it was a 5 minute fix. What's causing it on mine is that the contacts are not separating at the right moment when the trigger is only pulled half way, cant work out why though.
  20. Yeah I'm one of those odd people who like the looks of the F2000 as well. The range is very good as standard, only change I've made to mine was installing a basic non-ab mosfet which made trigger response on a 7.4 lipo even better. Incidentally the battery space is pretty decent, I use a 2200mah which will easily last all day. Only issue I've got with mine is that semi-auto has become unreliable (tends to shoot full auto), seems to be there's an issue with the trigger system. Problem with fixing it is that the way the trigger works is completely incomprehensible. Just remembered another positive, it's one of the quietest AEG's I've heard. Not had the gearbox open but I guess the shim job is good.
  21. F2000's a pretty good aeg, but you will need to modify mid/low-caps in order to use them in it. It's also extremely fat in comparison to most other guns. Performance is solid but not exceptional out of the box.
  22. FMA PJ Fast Helmet in black 3000 0.25g platinum Gunfire Rocket Bio's 1000ml Nuprol green gas Olive nuprol spray paint ...and a v2 anti reversal latch Originally only wanted the helmet but then found out that gunfire.pl have free shipping if you spend £50+, didnt even need the latch but everything else came just under the limit so tried to find the cheapest thing I could probably find a use for one day Also waiting for a pair of M-pact 2 gloves and a fobus holster.
  23. It's one of those rare wonders when you get a cheque in the post from HMRC.

    1. Preston

      Preston

Lucky. Last letter I got was a bill for £500.

  24. Microsoft Intellimouse 3.0 anyone? They were and still are one of the most popular, no sponsoring there. The reason most of them use Deathadders isn't so much down to sponsorship, it's because razer ripped off the ergonomics of the IE3.0 and stuck a higher dpi sensor in there (not that they'd be using a higher dpi). Cheapest model M on ebay is more like £40, and you'll end up with horrible yellowed sh*t from the 80's. But it will have good switches, not sure if the compromise is worth it.
  25. I'd agree that they are mostly overpriced, but then so are all gaming peripherals. Having said that the Blackwidow used to be one of the cheapest mechanical keyboards on the market. But they are (generally) not crap, there's a reason why the majority of pro's use Deathadders. If you want something which really is crap, gaming headsets.
