  1. Welcome to the forums. I'm sure there will be airsoft teams near you where you can play the way you like.
  2. Over a dozen shots it never goes outside 334-336 never heard of a more consistent gun Technically it should not be allowed at my local site but they allow it as long as I don't do headshots. If it did an occasional shot under 328 it would be allowed.
  3. Hmm what about The Mall in Reading? Do you think they'd allow my 335fps Sten for a private hire? Always wanted to try the mall but they have a 328fps limit.
  4. You don't hold it by the mag! You're supposed to hold the heat shield at the front and try not to lose your little finger as shells eject
  5. A drum mag would interfere with the one advantage of the sten, changing mags whilst prone.
  6. why not epoxy a rail to one of these http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/airsoft-shotguns-and-grenade-launchers/deuce-airsoft-double-barrel-launchermhtm#.U2daT4FdW0Q then mount it under the sten (double barrelled masterkey anyone?)
  7. I have actually been thinking of getting rid of a tan tactical vest I never use: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00F51MZXO/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It has 2 of these MP5 pouches on it (in tan not flecktarn) http://www.taiwangun.com/en/magazine-pouch-mp5-flecktarn-a-c-m?from=listing&campaign-id=20 Thats space for 8 Mags. It also has a single point sling attached. If you're interested send me a PM and we can discuss a price, then I will have an excuse to have a trip to the Mall The mount you will need is this type http://www.amazon.co.uk/TopOutdoor-Tactical-GSG-5-Aluminum-Picatinny/dp/B00DXXTOGW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399296236&sr=8-1&keywords=mp5+rail
  8. I would recommend the collapsible stock rather than folding. As you can see, when the stock isn't extended you can still have it up to your shoulder for a very tight steady aim. Have you tried holding an MP5? I personally find the stock wide forearm front grip about as comfortable as is possible. Some people don't get on well with it, I would suggest you try it before opting for more expensive rails and foregrip. The reasoning is simple, if you hold a vertical grip your elbow sticks out. Your elbow needs to not stick out in CQB as people will then shoot it.
  9. I did cover some ideas for a tactical sten on page 9 of the Ed let's play a game thread. Best bit was they were all removable if you want to go back to stock. Basically you can get a scope ring with rails on and attach it to the front heat shield instead of the scope. This gives you a top rail, 2 side rails and a clamp underneath so you can clamp it to the rail on a grenade launcher. Alternatively remove the front heat shield and clamp one of these to the barrel:
  10. Just back from my 1st WW2 game. It was epic, you just don't get 30 people doing a suicidal charge accross open ground at prepared defensive positions in normal airsoft.

At one point we had the British charging up a track with no cover, Yanks charging accros a field where they had to stick to a narrow path and the germans in a patch of forest with plenty of cover. It took about half an hour before we managed to get a foothold.

Fair play. Best I've seen is 60 players trying to cross across a single narrow bridge while enemy fire comes from all sides. I think that ScoutTheDoggie has a clip of it somewhere...

  12. Did it go through the lens or did the lens pop out? I have one of those gas masks and when tested the lens came out but after applying a vast amount of epoxy glue it passed my testing. It needed a lot of modification to be comfortable though and I crammed a 12V CPU cooling fan into the filter instead of the little fan it came with.
  13. So, I have ordered an Aussie Jacket and hat. This will look awesome I sooo have to get an SMLE now. I may have to modify a digeridoo to fire 40mm grenades at some point just for laughs, either as a bazooka or maybe use it as a mortar to launch something. 5 days til my 1st WW2 game, hopefully I can get a look at some of the other WW2 guns people have. I also found out that Combat South has a WW2 game coming up (21st june I believe). It's based on Normandy so not really suited to an Aussie loadout but if anyone wanted to come and needed to borrow some kit I could use it as an excuse
  14. Mine goes in the Wardrobe. Unfortunately that means all my clothes go on the floor My Mum would disapprove
  15. I have the gear but can't get the weekend off http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=255 You could enquire whether you could borrow some stuff on the WW2 airsoft forums. Or you have a month to get stuff together. This is why I like my WW2 loadout. There are lots of games like this and ww2 gear doesn't stop you doing non WW2 games. I will be going to this one http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=250 and will probably have my WW2 aussie uniform sorted by then so may be able to spare some stuff for a British Para loadout if you wanted to try a WW2 game. Gunman actually have some stuff you can hire as well.
  16. Aussie Gear! Service dress jacket and slouch hat, just waiting for the paypal invoice. Discovered that Spearhead has a Brown jacket identical to the Green one I had been looking at under the WW1 section (rather than the ww2 section where the green one was). It's £5 more but comes with the insignia that is missing from the Green one. Bit of research and I find that both colours are correct. Brown has the additional benefit of matching my British Battledress trousers so I don't need trousers and saving issues with my wool allergy, the cost of insignia and the price of the matching trousers (£40)
  17. Make sure nothing valuable can possibly get hit. Few people have had accidents with computer monitors, TV's etc
  18. I just had a thought. If I go ahead with the Aussie loadout, I could build a Digerizooka! Fit a 20mm inner tube and simple trigger to a Digeridoo and use Grenades to launch either bb's or maybe even some sort of large projectile.
  19. Not my work but someone on the WW2 airsoft forums has just made this: Works on a Ver7 gearbox apparently. More pics and details here http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=17948
  20. To be fair, Onlybbguns is probably the best of a bad bunch when it comes to the bbguns sites. I would not recommend that someone who doesn't know what they're after uses them though as a lot of their guns are not skirmishable. They do at least try to advise people which are skirmishable and which are for backyard plinking unlike some other sites. Before you buy guns, find a site to play at and give it a go with a hire gun. If you enjoy yourself then there are 2 options: -If you are over 18, go 2 more times minimum over 2 months and get UKARA registration so that you can buy non-2 tone guns and use that time to research what sort of gun you like. Drool over web sites, ask questions on forums, talk to other players and ask to try holding different guns until you know what is the best gun for you. If you are under 18 you cannot buy non 2 tone. Consider taking a parent along so they can get registered and buy your dream gun for you. -Buy a gun and get it 2 toned. Most retailers will paint the gun for you either free or for a small charge. In most cases you will want to get an electric rifle (AEG) 1st. Most people want an M4 and there is no question that G&G's combat machine range is by far the best beginners gun if you want an M4. The only time I would suggest starting with a pistol is if your local site is an indoor CQB (close quarters battle) style one. If you want a dirt cheap 2 tone pistol for CQB then the HFC Mk23 Socom is pretty decent. I actually bought mine from onlybbguns and it has claimed a very high number of kills in CQB. For outdoor sites, pistols are just extra toys to play with so most people will prefer a gas blowback pistol as they are cooler with moving slides etc. Pistols will not have the range needed to do much good. If your local site is woodland just don't bother with a pistol.
  21. When I eventually get a Lee enfield (probably my next gun purchase) I think I will have the best possible airsoft gun for a zombie related situation. Long heavy and capable of fitting a bayonet. An airsoft gun will not kill a zombie easily, a long metal and wood implement can cave in a zombie skull nicely and an optional long sharp thing attached to the front will work for melee with a long standoff distance. I shall probably got for an SMLE, the bayonet is basically a sword in its own right My strategy for survival would be to load up a bicycle with tent, and gear and get the hell away from population areas. The main benefit of airsoft weapons would not be defence so much as to deter banditry. Long term I will want a boat as the UK is too densely populated.
  22. Yes but standard design has it fixed on by 2 lugs so its as easy to remove as a lightbulb. Some are screw on like normal suppressors but the 2 lug system is common. Another idea would be one of these: Ares Amoeba. Basically an M4 but with folding stock and battery compartment/raised top rail. Can't comment on performance but if I had to get an M4 for CQB this is what I would get. If I could get any short gun for CQB then I would have to go for this though: Actually I would wait for the shoot and scoot AEG M1 Carbine But for a cheap MODERN CQB weapon with readily available parts, you can't go wrong with an MP5
  23. An MP5 is a great gun for CQB mainly due to the collapsible stock. I would not be put off by the extra length of the MP5SD, the silencer can be removed for tight areas if need be. The collapsible stock has the benefit that you can reduce the length of the stock and pull the gun right into your shoulder. A folding stock leaves you with no butt to put into your shoulder and an M4 style stock only shortens by about 50%. Try one for size and if its too big then an Mp5 or MP5K may suit better. An MP5 can easily be converted to have a torch front grip (cost me about £15 to do this on mine). I wouldn't bother with an MP7 unless you want to go for the GBB version, but the GBB versions look a lot of fun
  24. http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/airsoft-shotguns-and-grenade-launchers/deuce-airsoft-double-barrel-launchermhtm#.U1Z_i1VdW0Q Goblin Deuce. Not really useable as a primary but 12 shots per barrel and gas powered
