Apparently Shoot and Scoot are planning new models of Mk4 and SMLE based on a VSR11. Evike however have the Iron Airsoft SMLE for $220 (£115). I also discovered that Shoot and Scoot are working on an M1 Carbine AEG. The great thing is that although the British didn't use the M1 Carbine, the Aussies were working closely with American units and often switched to American weapons to reduce the supply issues

For your 1st gun, its always best to buy in the UK. That way if you have any problems it's easier to get it sorted. It is cheaper to buy from abroad. Taiwangun.com is quite good and based in Poland so no tax or duty but occasional delays at customs are not unknown. Outside the EU you will tend to get hit by customs charges.

Yup looked into that and it works out at about the same cost as buying the Shoot and Scoot No.4. Aussies never changed to the No.4, they stuck with the No.III (SMLE). The great thing about the SMLE is that the previous version of the Lee Enfield was 5 inches longer. When designing a bayonet they didn't want to reduce the standoff distace. As a result the SMLE bayonet is almost a sword Shoot and Scoot make a rubber version of the bayonet.

The more I look into Aussie WW2 gear the more I want it. The hat, Jacket and Trousers from Spearhead look awesome. I then did a bit of digging (geddit: research into Diggers uniform ) to find out what else differed in the Aussie uniform. The boots are brown with no toe cap. Have you ever seen brown hobnailed combat boots with no toe cap? Eventually I gave up looking for something similar and started looking for a reproduction of the actual thing. It seems Aussie boots are the least 'combat' looking combat boots ever. These are boots that say 'Tobruk looks like a good place for a Barbie on the beach' The only problem is the boots would have to be shipped from Australia. Oh and the Aussies used the SMLE which Shoot and Scoot have discontinued which only leaves the Matrix/Iron airsoft one which is gas powered and has a bad rep for quality control

Just get the XM-8 body kit

Middle one actually looks like he's in a Harry Enfield scouser sketch, the one on the right is wearing a camo shell suit. Was this taken in Liverpool? I think the bandanas are to protect the perms.

I would imagine bulldogs are okay. I would suggest not buying them solely on the basis that they are JBBG own brand. I tend to use whatever the site I'm at sells when I run out.

Well I have 7/8 June available for something. Any ideas?

Still lots of space for this game http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=257&t=17656 £25 and there is camping available Friday and Sat Nights. This is a great opportunity to see what's involved in WW2 airsoft without needing to spend a fortune.

Piccies so we can see what you have in mind?

A lot of us airsofters are constantly working on our loadouts. I am finding that as I work on perfecting my WW2 British airbourne loadout, I keep seeing nice shiny things that wouldn't work with this loadout but maybe I might build another loadout sometime to use them. My latest idea for a future loadout is the WW2 Aussie loadout. It came about when I found out about an ebay shop for ww2 stuff http://stores.ebay.co.uk/spearheadmilitaria/ So heres how the loadout would be made up: Cool Aussie hat, tunic and trousers Leather bandolier (cos it looks really cool) with belt or just my P37 Webbing Shoot and Scoot Lee Enfield Mk4 So what ideas have been going through your heads regarding a loadout you may or may not do in the future?

I have a feeling it will deform faster each time you do this but as a temporary fix it should be okay.

Buying a gun with a friends UKARA defence?
Russe11 replied to Lord_Metile's topic in General Discussion
Or, get your Mum and/or Dad to play. They may enjoy it and once they have a defence they can buy the guns. This works well on 2 levels, you get free transport to games and if you have different types of guns you can switch them around and get more variation. 1 game Dad may be the support gunner Mum is the sniper and you are running around with the assault rifle, then everyone switches for the next game etc. -
Thats another ZB26, 3 now then.

So has the Lee enfield but Shoot and scoot I don't count as being a manufacturer. I do however plan to save up for a Shoot and Scoot Lee enfield. The M1 Carbine AEG also exists but is one of those 2 tone plastic gearbox jobbies. The Bren shouldn't be hard as there are 2 different ZB26's available and the Bren was copied from that design.

Decent Lee Enfield spring powered for under £300 Bren Webley revolver M1 carbine AEG Lewis gun

Well before I think about the bicycle, I need to finish my WW2 loadout. Things I still want for that: Shoot and scoot Lee Enfield, Better Denison smock, Rubber bayonet and real bayonet (to get the scabbard), New helmet liner, chin strap and fixing bolts so thats a total of over £500 I'm also really tempted to do a WW2 Aussie loadout after the British Para (I just love the hat ).
-
I would like to get the appropriate transport to go with my WW2 british airbourne loadout: They are rare, expensive and really belong in a museum. But what I could do is buy a Pashley Parabike It won't fold but if I could model the hinges and attach fake ones to the frame and with a few modifications it would look right to the casual observer. Then I would need the Rifle holder and frame bag

Wot did I win? The guides on ww2airsoft.org.uk are quite handy for WW2 loadouts. There are also lots of WW2 games listed in the forums. I would suggest that you start with Battledress for a British loadout with P37 webbing and then customise from there. Commando would then have a woollen hat green beret or brodie helmet and may swap the tunic for a jumper or Denison smock. Windproofs were issued mainly to mountain troops and may have been used by Commandos but only late in the war and if you want to get into WW2 airsoft that limits you.
-
Well I recognise the webbing. I am guessing it's a brushstrokes variant. It's not the colours of a Denison smock so must be the Windproof suit. http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/british-52nd-lowland-division/

So it's just certain mags? Do the catches at the top of the mags move okay (the little slidey bit that holds bb's in)? if not then you may need to lube this.
