  1. Not for me, maps, taskings, important area photos etc if you had a chest mounted camera surly all you'd see if arms meeting in the middle holding a gun? For the above reasons and also personally there are times when I HAVE to have Comms on the field with me be it marshalling or playing. Don't need to defend the reasons but if I have to have it why not have it in a decent protected area and in such a way it's always accessible
  2. I'm the type of guy to usually only mutter a few words and that'll be when signing in unless I know people at the site I'm playing. If I don't know anyone I don't make a habit of conversing unless spoke to first, just my nature. Did you just admit to liking Sheryl Crow?
  3. While I'm happy to pay for decent work I assume the steel and Titanium would cost an absolute bomb for something so simple! Think if I don't go down the route of the FMA clone of the kagworks one or the juggernaught I'll just go with normal 3d printed materials
  4. Hahaha! I don't do things by halves! I was lucky with some shares I sold so decided to treat myself, the rest has gone into savings
  5. Well fuck me sideways, you learn something new every day! I thought the newest thing was resin!
  6. £900 give or take, found the UH-1 cheaper on one site by about £100. The strike fire is for a second project gun and the SS stuff is an upgrade from the slickster but for a heavier (but not by much) load out. I'm a man of simple pleasures but SS are coming out with a few additions for it later in the year once they've completed their DOD contract so it's the base for what I hope it'll be by end of the year/start of next
  7. Not when you know a fabricator but if I wanted it in steel then I would do so, the question was about the hardest material available via 3d printing ? Cheers mate, the phone I'd be using is old hence I'm not fussed about using it for Airsoft ☺️
  8. Anyone have an idea how much this would be have printed, Ideally the strongest material possible? https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3244671

@Druid799 I've fallen in love about 50 times a day in three days. Luckily didn't carry much cash!!

  11. Nice work! we should have a camp out or something!
  12. Its the initial layout and finding a decent defender! I can get a pretty decent built T5 for the price people want for a defender! Im happy with just doing what im doing at the moment, the camper is a dream which wont be a quick decision. you have the land rover now right?
  13. If you do end up buying let me know as I found it works out cheaper buying from a 3rd party.
  14. Yeah I shopped about for a while and self build is by far the best way to considering some of the prefab ones I've seen dont start any lower than £45k!! Yep tried it in the garden with the full tarp set up the other evening and by far the most comfortable sleep Ive had, will be going out in thetford at some point and the lake district for a proper outing soon but so far so good! I went for the complete set up including under blanket as I wanted as much comfort and heat retention as possible (knowing what english weather is like) I've taken a lot of hints and tips from varying youtube videos to get what I think now works as a perfect set up (for me) this is by far the best channel Ive found for useful information https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbTDXDBHApa_cvcOx86yJOA
  15. Funny you say that I have been looking at getting a VW T5 or similar to convert myself, Brother works for a company that does van instillation so if i did get stuck not like id have an issue sorting it and could be so much cheaper doing it myself.
  16. Not airsoft related really but could be used for milsims I guess if the AO is anything like the trees etc. but I just got myself a full DD hammocks set up so I can concentrate on my other hobby which is bushcraft and wild camping. *not my picture but you get the idea
  17. Not 'arf! If you could hear half the stuff I hear on a regular basis just following players or over hearing things while gearing up I don't think they could give out Darwin awards quick enough.
  18. Or they are just repeating crap they have also learnt from other varying sources and not found out for themselves.... Serving people would obviously get bad knees from the weight, were talking airsoft here where people are hard pushed to wear the gear they own for any longer than 6 or so hours (even milsims I would say the same as people slope off for food, drink etc). Me personally, I have a set and I also have quite bad sciatic pain (again this is me personally) since getting a set and running them in my plate carrier its helped with the issues as my PC actually sits where its supposed to and is more evenly balanced after having a long hard look at where and how I had set up the externals, pouches etc. Yes, training plates aren't for everyone but as @BibbsOnTour mentioned they come in varying weights from 1.6kg upwards (and judging by majority of airsofters who carry way to much unnecessary shit anyway people can hardly talk about carrying to much weight). People actually thinking about their kit and setting things up right would barley notice any difference. hell I had a guy this weekend adamant he was taking three guns out to each game, two of which... guess what... stayed by the spawn the whole time. This ^ Instead of bashing the people that do have them or want to run them in whatever weight they choose why not be productive and ask questions about them and what benefits they have found from using them, again yes armed forces wear plates. They also do a lot of other things that airsofters don't do, like tab for insane amounts of hours in blistering heat not only carrying plates but ammo, weapons systems (that are a lot heavier than airsoft guns in most instances), water, radios, food, med kits.... the list is pretty long, so while I appreciate the weight of plates is adding weight to you i would hazard a pretty fucking big guess its not just the plates that would account for knee issues within the military... happy to be proven wrong if plates are the sole reason for bad knees.
  19. So I'll be playing airsoft in Sweden in September with a pretty well known Instagram person... should be fun!!

Probably the leading group UK wise - there are some USA based ones too.

Cheers mate, I'll have a look

  21. I've had good results with modify rubbers and also the laylax? 9 ball, seen others using other maple leaf rubbers with good effect also. Crazy jet barrels the "in thing" at the moment with demonstrated good results.
  22. Used both. Oshibooms are pile of shite compared to the TRMR, TRMR also fit nicely into 40mm pouches unlike the Oshiboom. While both struggle going off on softer flooring the TRMR advantages over the Oshi make it a justifiable extra cost.
