Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Shizbazki in P2340 Glock or M92F Beretta
Mate like everyone here says i would not have even looked at those two guns even when i started Airsofting, they are nothing more than pea shooters, literally.
In all fairness both those guns are made nearly all out of plastic, not saying Plastic is bad as Tokyo Marui (the OG of Airsoft) make all their guns out of plastic though very good quality plastic. You will be lucky if those guns you have shown get through a few mags before they broke on you, sadly you get what you pay for.
Personally if I were you, save up some more and get a gas blow back pistol, i would aim at a company such as WE Airsoft as they do decent quality gas blow back pistols which operate close to the real thing, which will last a long time, will have decent range and won't break the bank, still though most of their guns are over £90. My WE Airsoft Beretta M92F in S.T.A.R.S (from Resident Evil) look cost over £110 from a decent Airsoft shop.
Have a look from REAL Airsoft shops like ZeroOne, AirsoftZone, ProAirsoft Supplies, Land Warrior and Patrol Base.
All of them will require that you are over 18 to purchase and Airsoft gun of any kind and of any colour even two tones, if you want one in black, tan, olive drab or white you will also need a UKARA number for reasonable defence under the VCRA Laws in the UK.

I know, thought I'd let more people know about them.

WE aeg doesn't have recoil, it's just a normal electric aeg: http://www.proairsoftsupplies.co.uk/acatalog/MCR-L-Black-Rifle-3026.html
They have it in tan + the H version as well, one odd function the H has is that it can use standard 5.56 M4 style mags as well as the heavier 7.62's, does look a bit weird with smaller magazines though..

WE make an electric line of guns as well as gas, this has already been said in this thread

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Mack in Scar Advice
Since when have CYMA made scars? or had logos or trades on there guns? There is no record of this anywhere apart from the one linked.
And youd need to be off your nut to be paying £279 for anything CYMA

Airsoft_Mr B got a reaction from Mack in Is the LMG any good?
You couldn't just buy another hop unit, as he said in the post it is proprietary so it's a unique design for that gun

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Josh93 in New player accessories advice
I went for a cheap red dot (cvlife for £17) in the end, still in a pickle looking for flashlights and grips, combined or individually. Finding weapon lights so expensive most of the time, may have to go with the other cheap option of the eagle 2in1 cree led flashlight for 17:50 if i don't find anything else. I'm looking to spend under £30 and preferably order from uk so i get it within a week otherwise i would have ordered the element m910a from china.

Airsoft isn't a cheap hobby. Neither of those will be usable for skirmishing.
-
Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Hef Legend in P2340 Glock or M92F Beretta
For the love of god, do not order from there lol check out some of the bigger retailers such as airsoft world or zero one, Neither of those guns would be worth taking to a skirmish.

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to SeniorSpaz87 in your opinions on GR15 M4 Raider-L for my first gun????
Basically, everyone says on here to get a G&G CM or Raider or something similar for your first gun; they are solid platforms with a range of upgrades available. You can leave them how they are, or spend loads of time on one; it just depends on how much you want to get involved.

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to AirsoftTed in SAS loadouts/clothing
What exactly is it that is SAS about this mate? You've stuck on a set of DPM's and a Colour Sergeants rank tab? If you're going on the "SAS" smock making it an SAS kit, afaik that's just a marketing term for a slightly modified smock?
-
Airsoft_Mr B reacted to TacMaster in changing m16 foregrips
There's quite a few differences between the M16A1 and A3, you'd need to change a lot (including the upper receiver as the A1 didn't have a removable carry handle) personally I'd just outright buy an A1, but if buying the A3 and all the replacement parts is cheaper than buying a new gun, go for it

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Lozart in Something I don't get...
I see it here, I see it on other forums and all over the community pages on Facebook - why do people buy something or order from a particular place and THEN ask if anybody has any experience with it/them?
Surely the time to ask is BEFORE you buy a lemon from a shyster not AFTER.

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to kingzoop134 in TM XDM
Ah ok. I am going to pick up this or one of the other "newer" TM pistols since they seem to last longer on propane and just have less problems overall.

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to DEDSEC in Fixing this very cheap BB gun (one of the ones that feed through the top)
Well to be honest, I do think it's genuinely had it. Looks beyond repair as it's just a cheapy plastic bb gun which you can buy in toy shops. -
Airsoft_Mr B reacted to geoffreym in R85A1 Magazines
I've found that MAG midcaps work perfectly (with a layer of electrical tape) in all 4 that I have tested, if memory serves, the G&G mags seem to be sub par considering the build of their rifles, with many complaining that they do not feed in many guns.

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Monty in Tri shot M870's
Just come across these,
http://www.airsoft-entrepot.fr/catalogsearch/result/?q=CM35
They look pretty good for the price, after reading up about them I'll have to pick one up some time soon and give my take on them.
They also come in metal variants aswell as plastic.

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Sacarathe in (UPS) Customs import form for Harmonised code 930599
Please delete this if it is already in a thread here, but I don't see it.
UPS asked me to fill this out when I shopped at Evike, (https://www.gov.uk/trade-tariff/commodities/9305990000). Supposedly Evike flagged items in my order with this code.
Update: Seems evike use this harm code even when they ship something which has nothing to do with airsoft. Lazy bastards.

Anyhoo, I don't have UKARA, nor was I importing a RIF, so after arguing on the phone with the UPS rep for 2 minutes (he basically said "I don't care, you fill in the form or we return to sender"), I took the form by email wrote NO in every relevant section and sent it back, it cleared customs no problem.
UPS charged me £11 to print out this form and hand it to a customs official - lost for words how horrible that is. On top of that, they ransom your package back to you with threats to return to sender - not that i've ever charged back but makes me glad I paid by credit card.
