Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Sitting Duck in ebay's latest policy which will affect us airsofters

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to sp00n in ebay's latest policy which will affect us airsofters
i was just speaking to a good mate of mine, he was telling me that ebay will no longer allow people to list items with ANY reference to firearms in the title, such as :-
Glock
G17, G18 etc etc
MP5, MP7 etc
L96
L85
H&K
M4
etc etc
so lets just say you need a part for a tm mp7 ... once all the listings have been removed, and apparently they are removing them, ebay wont be the place to go any more.
To be honest i think that this is stupid.
what do you guy's think?

Don't be a dick for fucks sake. You could've just waited a bit and got it legitimately. It is not hard nor does it take a long time to be able to acquire a valid defence.
You can't just 'borrow' a UKARA number anyway which nobody is willing to do because you're clearly being a nob about it.

You join a forum and the first thing you do is beg the members to essentially lie for you to a retailer, and then have a hissy fit when people aren't nice about it?
Might want to rethink this and start again.

Wow I’ve seen some stuff but this is taking the biscuit. You really respect the sport we all play and yet you’re asking for someone on here to break a rule that is very important to this sport so you can get a RIF. Why don’t you like everyone else on here has done……. Work for your UKARA and buy it properly.
Oh a little FYI, it ant a license it’s a valid defence. You don’t get a nifty little piece of paper or anything………………..
You’ve got some balls kid I’ll give you that.
LWA like all the big retailers have the UKARA entry part in there order process. You’ve clearly not looked or in this case have taken it that someone will give you there’s

Recommend the FMA Maritime, Ive owned an Emerson PJ, FMA Ballistic and FMA Maritime and the Maritime is by far the best of the bunch. The PJ was thin and to small for my head, The ballistic was nice but slightly to big. I prefer the cut and size of the maritime. The FMA also offer better protection than the emerson.
£40 shipped from shootercb and you will have it in 4 days. The pictures dont show it but it does come with the velcro aswell

Stippled Glock 17 and just bought X300. I've started my Kydex torched holster already, 20 mins into it and the retention is mint. Moving on to shaping and smoothing next.

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Ignitor in Is this RPK worth to buy?
Yeah i could, i am going to Poland in July so i could pick one up from the shop and spray it 2 tone as I don't have a UKARA and you don't need a UKARA in Poland

Airsoft_Mr B got a reaction from Monty in Is this RPK worth to buy?
Look at CYMA AKs from TaiwanGun and factor in a tenner for shipping from Poland
You're looking at two pretty different guns there. Unless you specifically want the support variant go for a normal AK rifle platform

Toying with the idea of a new camera angle for the channel. To get this I had to butcher my comedy crossbow for the mount, which is far from stable enough to use in game... But I think it's done well enough to act as proof of concept.
Looks pretty sweet I think, and in the videos with the bolt slamming about, as well as the noise from being right next to all the moving parts, I think it'll come out pretty good.
Just need to perfect the angle and come up with a better way to mount it now, as well as actually acquire a camera more suited to being in that location.

Laylax grip for MP7 & 20mmm rail, looks more comfortable and shouldn't inspire same kinda "I'm gonna snap it off" fear the stock MP7 grip has.

Keep in mind that being already a big guy and wearing a plate carrier will very easily overheat you in minutes.

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Lozart in JG MP5K suppressor help
Yes, there is a way. If I can find it I'll link you the place I got mine but basically the bit that surrounds the very end of the barrel unscrews (you may well need some pliers to get it out) usually on a 14mm CW thread. Then youneed a +14mm to -14mm threaded adaptor that screws in and then leaves the -14mm threaded bit sticking out for you to attach suppressors/tracers etc.
One of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SD-14mm-Barrel-Adapter-for-Marui-MP5K-PDW-CW-to-CCW-14mm-to-14mm-/271669997316
also available from Redwolf, Patrolbase and many others.

In fairness I did buy a Pelican case clone from him a month ago and that arrived without any drama. That said, I hope you get your stuff or money back.

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to TheFull9 in New gun. Recoil shock?
Systemas aren't anything massively special in stock form, certainly not range/accuracy wise; they don't perform impossible feats of physics defying-ness that no other AEG can perform. Its' highly debated and there are many arguments and defendants on both sides, some say the hop unit they use is a lot worse than your average V2 AEG, some say otherwise. Either way, the range and accuracy you'll get from a TM that's less than half the price of a PTW will certainly be at least very close, if not potentially much better. Not as good trigger response, but that can be improved on down the line if you really find the stock gun so lacking in that respect and use a lot of semi.
Plus you get blowback and recoil with a much more tactile bolt catch on the TM guns. Though PTWs do of course have that really easy quick swap cylinder which is nice.
The 416 is one of the best options for a recoil gun if you're shooting lefty; AFAIK it's the only AR style recoil gun with ambi selectors. Bolt release is only on the left side of the gun though and that can't be changed, not sure if any ambi mag releases will fit. The SCAR has ambi mag release, only 1 side for the bolt release. The G36s have no bolt catch/stop on empty and both the selectors and mag release are ambi.

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to TheGrover in Some advice?
I think the firearms act covers the definition of an IF (and therefore an RIF), basically saying anything capable of lethal or grevious harm than is an IF and anything incabable of such is an imitation
Lines in with my experience, after a family friend was carjacked using an air pistol. After the cops found him, they tested the gun and found it was capable of causing serious harm, and so he was charged with armed robbery instead of just a minor offence.

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Baz JJ in Some advice?
Its largely up to the retailer how they interpret "defence". If he chooses to sell to you on that basis its up to him and we can debate if its right or wrong but its just words. The defence is for him not you, Its not illegal to buy and own airsoft RIFs for adults.
However, you might find that most of the airsoft trade will want a UKARA registration as defence so your choice of supplier will be limited.
In my experience, its only gun shops who sell firearms, air rifle and dabble in fringe airsoft that consider firearms licences suitable for airsoft.
-
Airsoft_Mr B reacted to TheGrover in Some advice?
As Mack said. Whilst it makes sense for someone who has access to a real firearm and who has proven that they understand the care needed in owning, transporting and operating a firearm to have access to the big boys toys that they are, neither UKARA or the legislation works that way, and you need to either make the hire-gun pilgrimage or put up with two tone like the rest of us (or explore the alternative routes which are detailed elsewhere)

Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Mack in Some advice?
No, Firearms certs dont work for buying airsoft guns unfortunatly. Stupid but true.

its 7.2v old skool he has probably got in there - a lipo could be worth looking at
7.4v lipo or 8,4v - not 9.6v ffs
Yeah I noticed his guns were mainly plinkers but they might be fine to do plinking with
and I don't wanna be too harsh on OP coz I made same mistakes like many at first
yes I thought could of got a nice starter ?&? M4 - trying to reduce my usual same ol' same ol' replies
but if all he is doing is plinking then they are probably ok to mess about with
though if OP was gonna get into it more he really should look at going up a level
