Which particular ones?
-
I had pretty much exactly that setup a while back (Condor belt though). Sold it because it just didn't work for me. So the thing is, while yes, belt rigs move your weight to your hips which is better, I just prefer having my mags on or about my chest. My belt setup has two pistol mags, one rifle mag, dump pouch and holster (it's a two part "shooters belt" style one). For most woodland games I run a variety of chest rigs - micro fight style ones, Mayflower Gen IV and Gen V style ones, a couple of Warrior ones - depending on how the mood takes me and what gun I'm running on the day (if I'm lugging the SAW about I quite often ditch the chest rig completely). I'm more likely to run a plate carrier for CQB sites primarily for a bit more protection (I'm turning into a bit of a wuss in my old age) but while they have dummy plates in they don't outweigh the mags, flahbangs etc on the front. Which is why I said the plates were for balance. Now, I am aware that the extra weight will potentially cause an issue for my weary old bones but truth be told the "tactical crouch" I seem to naturally assume these days puts far more strain on my lower back than the weight I'm carrying, the issue is more that the PC slips forward unless I have it set so tight it's just impossible to move well in it. Hence the idea that if I could balance out the load then I can avoid that issue. As I said when @Tackle mentioned it above I think I need to have a long hard think about what I'm doing and how.

Ah cool, we're an integrator for Omron Industrial Automation but more in the production lines type stuff. We're also used to seeing Sinumerik on a lot of CNC type stuff so wondered if that was what was driving your machines! Very good point, well presented. I'll have a bit more of a think.

Scouser, eh? Well, a pony is about a dozen hub caps. I'm an automation software sales manager and I work from home, in Hampshire. Not a lot of steel merchants in the leafy environs of Oakley. Also - and I know I'm at risk of losing my man card here but - I don't own an angle grinder *hangs head in shame* Control systems? Sinumerik by any chance?

I have belt gear, chest rigs up the ying yang, all sorts. I'm just partial to a plate carrier from time to time is all It's a good idea, but you underestimate how little effort I'm prepared to put in for something I can buy for a pony!

I have considered it but for most skirmish type stuff I'd need to keep refilling it instead of just drinking in breaks. Good shout though.

Just found a place on ebay selling used training plates for £30 a pair! Might just take a punt on them!
-
Cool, I did look at Travail, they have some 2kg stock clearance ones on the website. I just want them to counteract the weight being all in the front with dummy plates! Does multi curve make that much difference?
-
...as opposed to plates for fitness! I've been thinking about getting some plates to put in the back pouch of my plate carriers just to balance out the load (being front heavy wreaks havoc on my back!). Can anyone recommend anything? Probably in the 2kg kind of area.

Aftershave, vodka, surgical spirit all work fine but this stuff is the tits. https://www.amazon.co.uk/servisol-AV-701-112UK-Remover-Adhesive-Sticker/dp/B007JV7CYU/ref=sr_1_5?adgrpid=58644640288&dchild=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAvvKBBhCXARIsACTePW9QySu_iUEM9ggFHVaynJeFW5iFOUgEA1BZ8wCb1zF4z06ah5Ru-dUaAgKzEALw_wcB&hvadid=498965717182&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9045742&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=8153274365062346733&hvtargid=kwd-298868459222&hydadcr=171_2344845&keywords=servisol&qid=1614597553&sr=8-5

Taiwangun Shipping Disruption (Brexit Related Content)
Lozart replied to Speedbird_666's topic in General Discussion
Is this UKAC or something? Yes, they're legit. As mentioned above, you need a £140 minimum order now and they will tell you that as a UK buyer it is entirely at your own risk. You can put your UKARA number in the order comments and ask them to put it on the address label or just on the outside but this has always been their policy. It's absolutely a UPS problem. My brother in law is waiting on £20K worth of hardware for work sent via UPS from the Netherlands. UPS say they've got around a 2-3 month delay, they also say they've delivered it because one of the three boxes turned up. -

Comment of the day, right there! -
Totally depends what it's been painted with and how well the surface was prepped beforehand. I've seen two tone jobs that'll come off with harsh language, chances are a bit of rubbing alcohol/surgical spirit/window cleaner (I shit you not) will probably get it off if it's just remnants of Krylon.

What Pistol Should I Buy and do I Even Need it?
Lozart replied to SourLotKing's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
You NEED a pistol in the exact same way that I NEED 10 RIFs. If you want one and you can afford it, buy one. If not, don't. -
I have a gas shotty that I bought during lockdown but there's other guns that have never been skirmished despite being bought or built before this all started!

Sounds like a lot of people are playing fast and loose with the guidance. From the official Spring COVID Response document https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-response-spring-2021/covid-19-response-spring-2021 This is what the rules are currently set to be from around the end of March (all subject to change if the four criteria haven't been met) in regards to outdoor gatherings: In so much as airsoft isn't a formally organised sport and doesn't have a national governing body the Rule of 6 would still apply.

First off, there's plenty of decent guns out there for £350. If it's just the look you like on the Krytac you could quite easily mod your Nuprol to resemble it (new handguard, different stock and you're most of the way there) so there's always that option. Does the Nuprol work well enough for now? Maybe think about what you actually want from a new gun - accuracy, range, rate of fire, aesthetics etc. Krytacs are OK, personally I'm not sure they're any better than anything else at that price point and they do have some proprietary niggles (slightly non standard gearbox shell for instance) that you might want to take into account before you settle on it.

Just remember that ALL those dates are targets only. They're not set in stone by any means! If the numbers don't come down in line with the four criteria they've set out then those dates WILL move. Additionally bear in mind that airsoft is not recognised as a sport due to having no governing body so you're better off using "leisure activities" as your guideline. I think West Mids are pushing the envelope a bit by banging out March 29th as a firm date.
