  1. 1 volt shouldn't make a lot of difference.
  2. http://airsoftsofsim.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/lipo-batteries-miracle-or-timebomb.html ETA Ive just realised that this isn't what you mean, but I will let it stay because it might be useful if people are using Lipo batteries.
  3. The Gunman Weekender being organised by the Grange is being held at the same site in two weeks time. Hopefully, we will also be able to re use some of their structures ! We have space still for another special forces team, although its not essential - four man fireteam needed. Comms provided. The rebels are building in strength now. With the recent death of their Commander-in-Chief Colonel Lukashenka, new leadership is emerging and I think we will see more on that soon.
  4. Is it worth the risk for a licence that costs £15 per year http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/enforcement/spectrum-enforcement/law
  5. Rental guns available at £20 per game day for the rebels... Click on thumbnail to enlarge photo
  6. Latest news article. The ranks of the rebels are swelling nicely in anticipation of the game in 6 weeks time. Click thumbnail to view
  7. Thats a Kenwood connector on the PTT. Dont think it will fit the Binatone..
  8. The Binatone use a 2.5mm single pin accessory jack which looks very similar to the Motorola one. However, they are wired differently so not interchangeable. Its quite difficult to find tactical headsets that fit the Binatone but you will find security and covert mics and earpieces. Depends what you want.
  9. With less than six weeks to go to the game, we are putting to bed the last preparation phase of the Okto Eight Milsim game and need to get the final numbers. Some of you have indicated that you are coming to the game on the 20/21st Sept but haven't paid a deposit and some of you have said maybe, but no decision yet. We have enough paid deposits to run the game and based on Facebook PM pledges, we are expecting some more bookings to come in during the next week. We wont be making any last minute offers or discounts, so the tickets are not going to get cheaper last minute. There is a long-standing special deal regarding morphine autojets for MPF weekend players and we will continue to honour that. So, if you are coming, please pay your deposit. If you cant make it now, please decline the Facebook invitation so we don't get false indicated numbers.
  10. I have the Gen3 and it works with G&G standard M4 mags but I haven't found that it can accept PMAGs.
  11. Taken from the PAS website QUOTE The G&G Generation 3 series of rifles are the next evolution of premium grade airsoft rifles. These rifles are built for players who want the most bang for their buck. Internally you'll find a 6.03mm Tightbore barrel for achieving a tight grouping of shots down range. This is then coupled with G&G's fantastic hop up unit which lets the rifle push BB's at distance most over stock rifles would never make. The internal wiring has been swapped out for a thicker, more efficient version. This will allow lower voltage batteries to give a higher rate of fire and trigger response than they would otherwise do in a normal stock rifle. Because of this 11.1V LiPo batteries will cause the rifle to double fire in semi-auto due to the super efficient wiring. A high torque motor is the next step in the upgrades to boost that trigger response too lighting fast speed. And last but not least all the Gen3 rifles come installed with a mosfet. What is a mosfet I hear you cry? Well when you fire your AEG normally as you pull back the trigger it will come into contact into another plate which will tell the gun to fire (Pretty handy when it does so). When you start using batteries over 8.4v the higher voltage can cause electrical arcing over the two contacts before they touch. This is not very good for the life of the gun as the arcing will cause the contacts to wear out and carbon to build up in the rifle, increasing the resistance in the electrical system and eventually leads to a failure of some sort in the gearbox. The mosfet stops all of this from happening and frees up some more of the resistance in the electrical system thus also giving a slightly higher ROF. UNQUOTE
  12. Just be aware that a Baofeng running on PMR446 channels is over powered and contravenes licencing rules, even when its running on low power. The PMR446 licence-free rules state a maximum power of 500mW and a built in aerial. Many airsofters flout this through ignorance or because they don't think they will get caught and use Baofeng radios illegally. It's strange because they are often the same ones who moan about people buying RIF without a defence. So what, I hear you ask ? No skin off my nose, but one day Ofcom will get wise to this and they will attend a skirmish. Being government owned, they are short of funds. What better way to help the national deficit than turn up at a skirmish, catch a load of airsofters with illegal Baofengs and no licence and hit them with their Draconian but heavy fines. They might not have time to chase one guy but some of the bigger skirmishes ? Would be a lucrative day for them and no different a stealth tax from the other fines we have to pay in this country for minor misdemeanors. Just a lot more money ! - Google radio licencing fines ! It will happen one day, Just don't say that you weren't aware !
  13. Sorry to hear your bad news mate. As I understand it, the symptoms can be lessened and controlled sometimes, so lets just hope its a temporary setback.
  14. The Bowman usually have a military style connector which plugs into the PTT. The PTT in turn will plug into the radio. They usually have something like a Kenwood or Motorola 1-pin connector. If you are happy with the restrictions of PMR446, then Motorola do some nice radios. Rotary volume knob and easy channel selection when radio is in its pouch is a good idea. Failing that, the next step up is a Baofeng UHF set which is cheap, has a 4W output and a Kenwood socket. However to use this legally, you need a business light licence which will cost £75 for 5 years.
  15. Ive got the Gen 3 and use it with a 7.4V LiPO. Have had it just over a year but haven't had any problems with mine yet.
  16. No the other forum that this thread is about.
  17. Somebody had a UAV at an Airsoft game here. Owner was concerned that somebody might shoot it down as it only flew at treetop height.
  18. A newbie introduced himself on 23 July. 18 views later, nobody had acknowledged his existence. Says it all really.
  19. I too only use this forum now. Don't have the time or energy. I agree with Ed about Facebook. A lot of people slag off Facebook and there is a lot of drivel on there but thats not FB, thats people who have nothing better to do than report every time they contemplate their navel. On the upside, there are a lot of Airsoft related groups, including groups focussed on specific geographical areas or sub topics. I can also monitor my related but non specifically airsoft interests like Land Rovers and military stuff.
  20. I'm pretty sure I know which forum you mean - there aren't a lot of UK Airsoft forums. In my experience, its the moderators themselves that take part in most of the posts and they don't tolerate members who don't say what they want to hear. I have a bit of experience with forums and its the quickest way to kill a good forum - probably why it isn't as busy as this one..
  21. Seems to be a lot of people playing Airsoft who are restricted in their ability to travel to games. I'm curious how many members have their own motor road transport to travel to longer distance games and how many don't i.e have to rely on lifts or public transport ?
  22. Yes already saw it and spread over my Facebook groups
