  1. Ian We can always squeeze a few more into the rebels as it lends itself that way. Team Flex, the mimimum age limit is not a problem, but two tone weapons arent allowed as its a milsim. Re mags, we allow mid caps but no high caps. Ammo allowance is 600 rounds in mags on your person. The rebels, for example can cache more in their village or in hidden arms dumps
  2. Hi another Essex player. Welcome to the forum.
  3. There are lots of flavours of milsim already out there. I find it is very difficult to get much information on what is available in any detail by googling and studying the Internet. There are lots of companies doing these but each seems to have a loyal and almost inward facing following. None of them seem very good at conveying what they offer and how they differentiate themselves from the others. Its almost like you are expected to know or you come and try it and work it out by trial and error. No milsim is 100% realistic for a variety of reasons but not limited to the experience and training of the players themselves. Some companies offer training on the grounds that they are ex military themselves. In a real military situation, the participants would be limited in their choices so what level of control is realistic and reasonable ? I have a non-financial interest in a milsim operation called Okto Eight. As the name suggests, we decided to focus on 8 hour battles that span a weekend on the basis that some airsofters wish to try Milsims but don't necessarily want to play continuously for 24-36 hours. Its just another flavour. The battle stops after around 8 hours, people can either go home or camp for the night and have a few beers, a campfire and it starts again next morning, where they left off. In terms of decision making, we took the view that the scenario would be set and the players themselves would decide where it went. There is public domain information which is shown on the Facebook page and there are secret groups for each participating interest. Privileged information and intel is shown in the groups, but as in real life, each force has different slices of the real picture. The teams get to choose their leaders and although there are overriding missions to be carried out which are set by command, as they are in real life, the teams get to choose how to accomplish them with the available assets. The outcome of one weekend operation carries across to the next, so it is a little like a TV series. My partners are experienced in running immersive milsims and we can play at a number of sites. The MOD are a pain to deal with because operational requirements will always come first so they can cancel at the last minute, However, as organisers we can hire a number of privately owned ex MOD airfields and facilities.

    Milsims

Gunman also do good themed milsims at different venues around the country. Okto Eight do weekender 8-hour milsims with pretty serious immersion around the home counties and Contego who are also a new kid on the block do milsims at Bentwaters an old airfield in Suffolk. There is also a very knowledgeable Facebook group called Milsim Central run by Dave Renniks.
  5. Its in Kings Langley J20 M25. We may do another in 6 months time if we all enjoy ourselves
  6. Right guys, well thats us tucked up. We've got the numbers. As you know, Ive been trying to set this up for well over a year. Had a few false starts dealing with numpties and getting mugged off. Hopefully, Im now working with the right people and we are going to kick something worthwhile off. A lot of work has gone into getting this far. We've got an old Russian jeep for the rebels to use and a bullet proof 4x4 which can be shot at for the other side to be transported in. I think we only got two players off this forum in the end, so the response was a bit disappointing, but hey ho, thank god for Facebook. Im going to go quiet for a couple of weeks now as I have a lot to do, but I will try to report back when its done.
  7. You listen to people too much mate. The G&G SCAR is a solid gun and I even found one for you in a sea of out of stocks. Buying Airsoft weapons is like buying shoes - you cant ask somebody else to do it for you.

  10. Depends on how long you are prepared to wait. I'd be tempted to go for one of these http://airsoftzone.co.uk/airsoft-guns/rifles/electric-aeg/scar-h-flat-dark-earth-electric-recoil-aeg-tokyo-marui
  11. Be careful as most retailers get volume stock in from G&G as they buy in bulk. I waited for ages for Pro Airsoft to get some more in stock and in the end, I got bored of waiting and ordered from Land Warrior who had one at that time.
  12. Yes also got one. There is a pic in the gun photo thread. Fires at 320-330 out of the box. Battery access involves taking the stock off. Bit of a PITA
  13. Theres a milsim game at J20 M25 on 20th September. Players are 16 And over and many are in their forties. Not too much running. More tactical and deploying various weapons and technology
  14. Nearly full now - just a few places left. Booking closes Friday 5th September.
  15. Theres a milsim at Kings Langley (just off J20 M25) on Saturday and Sunday (20th and 21st September).
  16. I was in "Moldistan" yesterday and the site is coming along nicely. Click thumbnail to view
  17. Tactical Radios have been donated by a well meaning and benign power, sympathetic to the cause of the MPF rebels. Click on thumbnail to view
  18. The problem with questions of this type is that few people have both rifles so you wont get a fair comparison. If players have G&G, like me, you will get an opinion of the G&G, which in my experience is good. However, I have no experience of the Enforcer, so cant reliably comment.
  19. I suspect its about money, Sounds like the game has just got too large for the venue and organisation, Always tempting for organisers when people want to pay you money. Usually its self policing because people like yourself start dropping out, thus reducing numbers.
  20. G&P are supposed to be quite good. I have one of their M249 and the build quality is good. I was a bit peeved not to get any instructions in the box which I understand is pretty normal for G&P. The Tokyo Marui by contrast give very clear instructions.
