The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I've never drunken tap water in my life. Here where I live in ireland the shit has particles of unknown substance floating in it and it reeks of chlorine, not to mention tastes foul. In Ukraine it's a little more natural but sometimes it comes with some nice soviet probably harmful chemicals with a sickening grey tinge. In the countryside it's even worse, shit's downright rusty. -
Looks like a clear plastic version of the WELL AK12 that was shown off at the Hong Kong Toy fair earlier this year. Nothing new

My load of M65 kit arrived from Ukraine today and I'm picking it up tomorrow- Should be a nice start to my STALKER/Roadside picnic like impression. I need to grab a Gas mask and some Faction patches though-Otherwise I'd say it would make a decent 'base' -
E&L ak47, i'm going to explode!

I'd agree with Ian & ikarma. If it's new then send it back,no point in Messing it up more since it's a lemon. Shame you've had a bad experience, especialyl considering the price, but luck of the draw as per usual with ACM. Hell, luck of the draw often comes with 'premium' brands like LCT- Ian_Gere had an LCT AK that was rather sh*tty Also, the stuck mag is caused by rocking it in wrong IIRC,did you insert the front of the mag into the forward bit of the well first or did you rock the rear in first? I made this mistake before but It was remedied with a hammer,by knocking the bottom of the mag back. Damaged the front lip but I got it out. I'd stress to just return the gun however-Don't deal with new Lemons. -
Regular blasters are just fine too TBH. I use washed Blaster .30s since they are cheaper than devils and the local shop stocks them more often- I cut a sample of 10 apart and none had any air bubbles internally. Very few have yet casting nipples and improper production. Madbulls are dodgy IMO. For the price you pay quality is pretty bad- bubbles up the arse, fair amount of casting nipples too.

Do you have access to a bench grinder or something like that,or a torch? If so then you can cut springs down pretty easily. I'd recommend to get an M120 then cut down a few coils if it's over the limit. Always go for slightly stronger springs, you can remove coils and never add(Well, you can get new spring but it's not fun to spend 10 quid for trial and error) Note, some guns like the VSR 10 like to give you a nice Velocity boost if you turn up the hop up,At least it happens to me. Gun comes in at 320 on the dot for me with the hopup nearly off but it goes up to 335 with it turned to lift .30s,This is caused mostly with soft hopup buckings I find.

Tape? what is this, generic American apocalypse movie? Weapon smiths of the zone great skill have, they can into welding and machining- Your grand to attach a rail and a torch to the gun- But It would be even cooler to weld on a torch mount or something. -

Pro Boots are a fair bit better than the Rather shit BCH ones, for one they are goretex lined and overall have a very nice quality. The ones with the red inner lining are said to be the best apparently. Soles are said to be much stronger than BCH IMO the soles are still a bit on the weak side, mine have finally killed themselves after 1 and a half years of very heavy use but once they're sitting on some nice vibram soles I'd say they can soldier on for a very long time -
What do you bring as a snack when airsofting?
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to Lord_Metile's topic in General Discussion
If it's a 7-8 hour game I bring along a sandwich, two or three nature valley crunchy bars and some small pieces of fruit. Often small amounts-I never really stop for lunch during these non stop games- Just sort of nibble on something while on patrol or hiking. It's the 27 hour games I usually go all out. Lidl brand Bratwurst,Cooked barley,Polish saurkraut and carrot salad and maybe some noodles is my usual ration. Sometimes I might throw in Holubtsi(rice and meat rolled in cabbage) or something. -

Ah,can't go wrong with a little crabcore. Bouncing,FRINGES,the venerable crab, overproduces scream lyrics and shitty techno breakdown. Finest of art. Anyway,to rinse my brain from that sh*t I'll help Australia redeem themselves: -

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Loadout - Easy or Difficult?
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to Hav0c's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
There are many Russian and Soviet rigs that can be accurate to the Stalker series. Zhuk,Lifchik,Lazutchik,M23 Pioneer,Nerpa and Kameleon. Kameleon in particular looks a lot like the rig found on the Berill 5M suit . . Check out Frontowiec as I and a few others mentioned before, very good selection of things for good prices however due to recent events Russia doesn;t exactly want to export it's military stuff to Europe so a lot of kit's out of stock -

Soviet army stuff have been pretty dodgy lately after the Russians nicked Crima with orders not processing and shipping-SO I'd avoid them, but I don;t have 100% confirmation of this. -

Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to Hav0c's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
True enough. I personally like the look of experienced Loners,If I had the time and money I'd definitely make a SEVA suit. Looking back at your start on Page two it looks very good as a base already. A satchel bag coupled with either an ALICE rig,or one of like some of these rigs here should really bring it up to look good http://az321826.vo.msecnd.net/6296bc8112c245309be1258f3a08eb6a/Images/Products3659-500x500-108844.j Nice and low profile- Often used by Stalker cosplayers since it like to cling to you more keeping a low profile which makes it more accurate to the characters in the games http://www.operator7airsoft.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Vodoo-Tactical-Chest-Rig.jpg - Could look good if you want to go for the Military Stalker look or Duty and Freedom troops from Clear Sky onward who use Berill 5M suits http://www.shortyusa.com/cart/images/2660.jpg - Could do for a loner looks or military look again,if worn nice and high- But wear all these rigs how you see fit, character models in Stalker can look pretty silly with all the rigs tight up to the chest and uncomfortable for some IRL Often the chest rigs seen in Stalker seem to cling to your abdomen area and be looser and bulkier up top at the chest. Don't forget the obligatory GP5 or GP7 Gas mask which you can stick onto one of your shoulders for the look. Also, patches! Find which faction patch looks the best for you and get some made for you. EDIT: Went on Paint.net and mocked up a very quick sketch of a concept of kit on your current Stalker base. I'd say your base kit is top notch for a loadout -

Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to Hav0c's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Hav0c if you want to go the M65 route I'd recommend the Austrian Surplus M65 jackets. Goretex lining on them and heavier cotton than their counterparts, also abundant in Ukraine so can be accurate to Stalker lore if you will. Cheap too,got mine for 20~ euro or so,the go for less than 30 pounds in most surplus stores. Couple with some decent tracksuit bottoms or baggy jeans or work jeans and you can get started on an accurate look. Should match well with the rest of the kit you plan -
I think that's where I got it from XD. I was like ''AirsoftSystems. Where are they from again? All their shit say 'made in EU'. A guy on here's from Hungary- probably there'' Anyway, cheers, will correct

The Scorpion Evo is made in part by AirsoftSystems in Bulgaria(apparently, can't personally say-It does use an ASCU and an AS hop up or one based on that so I;d assume they have their mitts in it) and assembled in Denmark by ASG. I'd assume they have a Chinese or Taiwanese OEM for the gearbox. Local shop get them in. I was very impressed with external quality. I did notice one thing though- Shimming was pretty bad on a lot of models. Very screechy and some guys on ASM who got their hands on them reported very loose shimming and some nasty premature gear wear. Overall accuracy wise it was fairly decent, but nothing spectacular. It's made in Europe but you would not know by shooting it and looking at the guts of it to be honest- shoots just like most wombat machines.top techs and old Maruis, but screechier. Always expect early batch lemons. Happens with even the best like Marui-The improperly cast SCAR L receivers/top rails,Explodetastic MP7 nozzles,Explodetastic XDM and 5-7,etc...

E&L 104 PMC-A vs. LCT 104NV. Fight!
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to Gargamel's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
E&L take standard Tokyo Marui style magazines. LCT's magazines are very well made and fit well in E&L but as per usual with all AKs you may have to do some filing or sanding to get them to work perfectly. -
E&L 104 PMC-A vs. LCT 104NV. Fight!
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to Gargamel's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
This review is very good. Made by a very reputable tech-So it's a fairly good source: He's a little more critical than I at internals but check out the comments in that vid too for better clarifications. I was personally not too impressed by LCT internals, gearbox I'd rate as Average while hop up I;d rate as mediocre,or very poor for a premium gun. WHile E&L has an above average gearbox and a good hop up unit for a 'premium' price gun -
E&L 104 PMC-A vs. LCT 104NV. Fight!
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to Gargamel's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
E&L is based on LCT's assembly style, the exception is the E&L's AKS74U which changed LCt's original design a bit. Anyway,I'm starting to ramble,so here's my opinion on the two guns: I find E&L's internals better than LCT. LCT are the OEM VFC's amazingly shitty pistons and often shove them in their own guns. These are very prone to wear and are known to be weak and unreliable. They did start coming with sintered steel racks but the racks were often low quality. LCT have recently began to supply guns with newer pistons however I cannot confirm they are in the LCT 104,I only know for a fact that the new LCT gearboxes are in the VAL and VSS. E&L's piston is nice and simple Nylon construction and shown to be very reliable. Has nice reinforced lower rails and has an overall good strength. LCT's piston heads are decently made and seal rather well, same goes for E&L so you can expect both guns to be consistent. Both internals have good air seal parts quality. E&L seems to come with an element 'silent' head which does like to leak from poor casting(This is china now) but overall still seal well. LCT's motor is weak, standard ferrous magnets and poor armature. E&L uses a CYMA motor which is an 16TPA neo magnet high torque. E&L uses XYT gears which are very strong sets. LCT's gears are not as strong but QC on them is better, but E&L still wins in this regard The big thing is the hop up unit. LCTs have unimpressed me in this regard. Mediocre range and poor accuracy, worse than in a lot of good Chinese brands like CYMA and JG. E&l meanwhile use a Prowin clone hop up and a CYMA split nub rubber for great performance. So in short, out of the box,E&L will be more accurate and more reliable than LCT. LCTs are made very well externally. E&L being based on the same design means they share a common gremlin of the outer barrel grub screws liking to come out so you may want to seal them up with loctite. I personally prefer the metalwork on LCT,the finis they have is very pretty. Cast parts are often machine finished and not as rough looking as E&L- The slightly blueish oxidization looks great, despite being not 100% accurate to the real thing. Sadly,LCT's pistol grips feel on the cheap side and the welded mock bolts can often break. E&L have cast ones which are stronger. E&l looks rougher- slathered in oil to protect from rust, dings in the metalwork and more roughly casted metal parts. So,along with saving 30 euro you get better internals, better OOTB performance, external issues fixed, better plastic furniture but have slightly different aesthetics. -
Shizouka hobby show-TOKYO MARUI GBB M4!
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies's topic in Latest News
Depends on the gun really. Whoever OEMs some of Marui's stuff can be inconsistent quality wise, and let's face it,TM's Monkey metal can be pretty awful at times(See: VSR 10 sears) . Also do note that the featured slides are from the 5-7 and XDM which are known the be weaker than the rest of the line(though I think the 5-7 is mainly piston head related issues) I've seen a fair bit of,and talked about stripped Marui monkey metal sectors(And their crappy gearsets in general). I mean, their internal parts quality is pretty naff but that doesn't necessarily mean the guns perform badly. This is mostly on the old prolines too. Yes,I know there are 'muh decade old' Maruis which never broke,I owned on myself but after doing a fair bit of tech work now I see the worst they have to offer. -

G&G's version of the VSS Vintorez
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies replied to Hav0c's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Is the motor really stuck solid in there? Jeez, that's a really dumb move. Must make bevel-pinion shimming an absolute nightmare, maybe that's why the gun sounded really screechy in promo vids. Proprietary battery is also not great but nothing that can't be fixed with some soldering,a little bit of wire and a pack of deans connectors. Dimensions overall look decent- Front handguard seems a little off,but otherwise it looks nice enough. You guys also forgot that the barrel is off center because they Didn't make an offset nozzle or hop up-This was to preserve the realistic top cover height. Personally I think they should have gone NPO AEG's route and just make the receiver larger to fit the GB deeper.
