  1. On the subject of humanitarian aid, if we drastically cut the amount that we donate to other countries be it in emergency goods or just financial aid, that could make the UK's image extremely poor, especially as how just a couple of centuries ago we were exploiting the world for money to line our own pockets. We should definitely give back to the world, partly because of this. Some of these arguments against foreign aid (such as "why do we send our money to India when they have a space program" etc.) don't take into account how much it helps the needy people in other countries. Take India for example (I have family who've been and lived there so I have a fair amount of second hand experience) while there is a burgeoning middle class in India, there's still a massive gap between the poor and the rest- slums are an incredibly common occurrence there while the closest you get to them in the EU are shanty towns of immigrants in Normandy etc. While there are still needy people in the UK, they have access to housing, benefits, free accessible schooling, the NHS (it may be going down the drain at the moment but it's still much better than healthcare in some countries) and much better pay as the minimum wage is very high compared with other countries. There are kids in Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Pakistan, China and indeed in India who earn as little as 80p a day (and even less) working in sweatshops, making trainers for the West, while potentially suffering from illnesses. As well as this, they don't even have the ability to pull themselves out of this situation as school is often inaccessible for them- and even then they would not be able to go as their meager income is all that supports them and any younger siblings. Humanitarian aid cuts are possibly the worst thing to do at this moment in time, seeing as upwards of 2,500 people have been killed in the recent earthquakes in Nepal with potentially thousands more injured. Nearly all of these people have lost their homes, people in Nepal's capital are living in tents and probably will be for some months. £5m has been given by us so far and I believe more should be given. I understand that a lot of the aid is given to corrupt governments and it is not distributed properly, however it's a case of controlling who gets the aid after a thorough assessment rather than cutting it completely.
  2. Overheard some fairly regular players (with 2tones) talking about how you must have a firearms license to have RIFs
  3. CYMA are one of the most cost effective available IMO. I was thinking along the lines of manufacturers who make MP5Ks which are plastic though, I think CYMA's MP5s are all metal.
  4. I think the TM one is plastic. IDK about any others, maybe G&G combat machine MP5s as well?
  5. Just to make it clear, external parts are not upgrades at all. Gun upgrades are higher quality internal parts IE motor, barrel, gears etc. The only couple of things that it's worth spending money on (externally) are a vertical grip and a red dot. Easier target acquisition and projectile compensation with them as it's clearer than using iron sights. The vertical grip is just a personal thing, it depends on whether you find vertical grips more comfortable than just holding the gun normally.
  6. Went down to SEME Bordon this evening where some of the REME lads put some weapons out for us to have a play with. They had everything from a GMG to GPMGs and even a Stirling and some AKs :)

  7. If they support your ankles enough then they'll be fine. A little later on you could get a pair of British Assault Boots as you seem to be building up a cold war impression UK loadout. While they aren't the fanciest of most comfortable boots out there they've been fine for me over 3-4 years of hard use. You have to look after them, and they'll look after you- my first pair went bad after a year because I wasn't caring for them properly. As SeñorSpaz says, you'll thank them if you put a foot down a rabbit hole as you won't break your ankle.
  8. New game on the block, it follows in the footsteps of World of Tanks as an arcade-y tank game. This time instead of WWII and early Cold War tanks, the game focuses on mid to late Cold War tanks and modern tanks such as the Challenger 2, Abrams etc. I've watched some Jingles gameplay of it, it's still in Alpha though so some bugs etc. There's all sorts of nice features in the game including smoke launchers and laser designators for the AFV class which light up enemy tanks and give your team a damage bonus on them. At the moment there's a lot of British, US and Russian tanks in the game including some German and French tanks too which I've seen. Artillery is playable like in WoT however it looks like it will be far more fun, balanced and rewarding to play- I've only seen 2 SPGs so far (British Abbott and Russian Akatsiya) both are 3 round autoloaders with far lower alpha damage and penetration than most WoT SPGs- however the shells are far more accurate and the rate of fire is far better than their WoT counterparts. Here's some links to Jingles' AW videos so far: Armored Warfare - We Need Tanks. Lots of Tanks. Armored Warfare - Third Time's The Charm So what do you all think? Anyone else looking forward to the release of this?
  9. I would recommend doing this- just don't ask about using the kit outside of cadets as you will look like a right numpty in front of the others. Do what I do and use it anyway. Army cadets would be your best bet as I have heard things about Air cadets being charged for their combat clothing, with a higher cost for the newer MTP camouflage uniform. It's issued for free (if you invest your own time and the small subscription charge per week, it's 50p at my unit however it varies) and you get 2 sets of it along with a smock and some other uniform bits. (It also looks really good on your CV when you start to look for work as it shows that you're able to work as a team with others etc)
  10. The UAR looks even worse than the Famas
  11. Instead of munching around with the hammer spring you could potentially drill a small hole or 2 in the air nozzle (if it has one) to lower the FPS. That could be used together with the spring trimming if you can't get the FPS down enough by trimming.
  12. I'm waiting until release so I can use a Windows emulator to play. Wargaming are too busy planning a moon base to port their games for OSX.
  13. Dream car would have to be a reconditioned DMC Delorean. Although if I could get my hands on a decommissioned road-legal Scimitar I'd be equally as happy.
  14. I'd say that Marui is the single best GBB pistol manufacturer in the industry, with WE close behind for their Glock series.
  15. I thought ASG shells were just rebranded DE shells? Or am I mistaken?
  16. Eh, facebook sellers....always trying to squeeze a few extra £££ and get very rude and defensive when you call them out
  17. Nice to see that what started out as a relatively well informed debate has ended up with members reinforcing their argument by stating that they're 'right' with no facts.
  18. I'm assuming that the stock assembly is one of those expensive custom ones made in the USA. It is pretty steep for just a Glock and a few mags, however apparently it comes with the hard case, all the backstraps etc and both mags. Not really worth it tbh, just wishful thinking That looks pretty pants IMO. If there wasn't a magwell extender on it and the grip adaptor matched the tan, I think it'd look better
  19. The guy selling it's asking for £200.....if I had £200 spare I'd buy the shit out of it.
  20. Seen this for sale on fb too...is it bad that I kinda like it?
  21. Should look really good on it, I really like that style of sight- might get my hands on a VisionKing one soon!
  22. It would suffer from lack of aftermarket add ons, it's not an M4. The G2010 is out of stock everywhere I've looked too, no matter what model.
