  1. The ICS AK74 is pretty nice too. Bombproof gearbox from what i've heard
  2. Set of used Helikon Pencott GreenZone CPUs, £140 on FB. £152 new at Military1st.
  3. MP5 bodies differ depending on what manufacturer the gun is from. If you know what manufacturer the gun is from, try searching '[manufacturer's name] MP5' on retailers like firesupport. They have a lot of external bits and you might find what you need. If not, get yourself a cheap and cheerful CYMA MP5, they're damn good for £130.
  4. You'd probably do better with something like a TM M870 or an ASG/CYMA trishot than you will with a DE spring sniper rifle (Which I'm assuming has no serious upgrades in it)
  5. I honestly don't understand how so many people find T1s appealing...is it just a case of wanting your gun to look SF?
  6. You won't get a very good RIS handguard for that amount. I don't think there are any available that will fit a 9.6V NiMh. You could fit a LiPo in one with some filing and abrasive material removal, however your best bet would be to use a PEQ battery box.
  7. Never been, but for £15 it's worth a shot. Very cheap compared to a lot of sites.
  8. I think a replica Trijicon SRS would look amazing on that
  9. Not worth it at all. System rifles cost around that amount- put into perspective you're paying the same amount for a pistol
  10. Maybe a new gun would help? As you just have AR15 style airsoft guns at the moment, a different model like a G36 or an AK of some description might freshen things up?
  11. Welcome to the forum. Have a read of these: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/3779-the-beginners-guide-to-airsoft/ http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/17294-ians-guide-to-noobism-on-a-tight-budget/ It takes a lot of time, effort and money to set an electric airsoft gun up to be effectively be used as a DMR (or sharpshooter's rifle). In airsoft, these are essentially electric or gas guns which have been locked to semi automatic and have had a lot of internal upgrades put into them. I would suggest buying a normal AEG first before going anywhere near DMRs. Anything in the G&G Combat Machine series of M4s and AKs is perfect for beginners. But even before buying your first gun, you should go to a skirmish and hire the kit out for a day to see if you actually like it first. As you're over 18 you can get an airsoft gun which has 51% of it painted in a bright colour (such as orange, green or blue). These are classed as Imitation Firearms. The dark coloured guns (Realistic Imitation Firearms) such as black, olive drab, tan, camouflage etc require a UKARA defence, re-enactor's defence or a site membership (some retailers will accept site memberships as a defence) before you can buy one. It's illegal for a retailer or an individual to sell you an RIF unless you can provide a defence such as the ones listed above. This is just to prove that, in the eyes of the law, you are just an airsofter or a re-enactor. In regards to ordering guns from abroad, Customs have a history of destroying packages with airsoft guns in them unless a UKARA number is written on the outside of the box. Some retailers in Poland will do this.
  12. I thought that increasing your gun's rate of fire to that level was mainly for airsofters who wish to 'compensate' for something...
  13. I've got an educational edition of it. Doesn't stop me from exporting to CNC and 3D printing systems though
  14. I love SolidWorks. By far my favourite CAD package- all the FEA makes me drool.
  15. This is starting to feel like we're repeating ourselves. Read. All. Of. The. Replies.
  16. An airsoft gun's status as a RIF has nothing to do with it's material. It's all about colouring.
  17. Usually everything except the stock, pistol grip and pump- like most weapons. Any metal airsoft replica will usually have metal in all the places a real version would have it.
  18. If the MP5 is sub £100, it's not worth it. The M56C will be much better than any AEG worth less than that amount.
  19. As in the CYMA models? The metal ones are more expensive and have a different manufacturer's code- I think the 'M' suffix denotes that they are metal, as seen on this French retailer's page: http://www.airsoft-entrepot.fr/catalogsearch/result/?q=CM35
  20. DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON POLYCARBONATE GOGGLES/SHOOTING GLASSES I've seen BBs blast through poor quality lenses like water bottle plastic. If you're looking at any kind of non-mesh eyewear, ESS, Smith, Revision and Bolle are the only manufacturers you should consider. As for lower face protection, any old mesh mask is the same. i got mine off amazon, as it was cheaper than the same product at most retailers I was browsing at the time.
  21. The ASG and DE ones are all plastic (not amazing plastic either) however CYMA have come out with some trishots including the one in the link. There's metal and plastic replicas in CYMA's new line of shotties. Despite being notorious as a Chinese clone gun manufacturer, the quality of their plastics is pretty good- my old CYMA MP5 felt a lot more expensive than how much it was worth
  22. That doesn't look TOO bad. There's much worse in this thread
  23. Indeed you should buy an electric gun. This is a UK based forum, so any retailers that we mention should ship to you as well. Have a look in the 'Places to Buy' subforum and post a thread there asking about a retailer if you can't find one on them already. The best retailer for a gun on a budget is Zero-One, as they will 2tone your gun for free if needed. Other good UK based retailers include Proairsoftsupplies, firesupport and Land warrior airsoft. If you are over 18 and decide to go to 3 games in no less than 2 months, you can have your details put onto the UKARA database which will give you a personal code known as a UKARA number or defence. This can be used to buy realistic (IE black, tan, olive drab, dark coloured etc.) guns, otherwise known as Realistic Imitation Firearms or RIFs.
