As it's just airsoft it doesn't really matter if you shoot a right handed bolt action without your dominant eye & hand. It's a whole different kettle of fish with real firearms, but it really doesn't matter in airsoft. It's just a case of getting used to using it with the other hand/eye combo.

You can get receiver shells and gearbox cases on most sites. Tbh you could build your own completely custom gun with all the bits available, especially if it's an M4

TM Recoils can be considered the best AEG range on the market. If you truly want EBB, go for those. If EBB isn't worth a £400-500 gun to you, but a normal G&G or ICS gun

Doesn't really need maintenance like a GBBR, however with more moving parts there's more to go wrong. Not worth getting anything EBB unless it's a TM Recoil.

Long boot socks. Don't wear Nylon socks, whatever you do- if you walk/run much in them you'll get terrible blisters

As for places to buy kit from, Grey shop are pretty good. They have a 'sets' system where you choose the branch of the Russian security forces/army you're going for and then you can choose all the mod cons. They have a generic VDV set, SF set, Recon set and MVD set. You choose your uniform, headgear, helmet, load carrying, boots etc. It costs about £232 to put together a basic loadout for the VDV, hence why I ordered everything separately. Load bearing kit's probably the most expensive stuff to get, however there's a sale on atm which has some decent looking stuff on for cheap. I'd advise buying all the stuff you need at once as postage is quite steep and takes a while. There's quite a large amount of webbing, assault vests and chest rigs on grey shop, including some Russian MOLLE kit.

A cheap as chips CYMA AK style rear sight and spring combo off Ebay, £8.50. Beats paying £25 for an ICS or LCT one!

SMG 8s aren't really to my taste (personal opinion) however WE also make a nice MP7. The best GBB SMG on the market is the TM MP7, many people like them. KWA/KSC SMGs are also supposed to be pretty good, plenty of them on sale for decent prices over on Zero In at the moment. The KWAs with the NS2 system are brilliant! It all depends on what you're looking for, more and more GBB SMGs are being released- WE came out with a GBB P90 recently, as well as a line of MP5s they came out with last year.

I think you missed the point- the only AK variant they make is of a Chinese AK- it's not suitable for a Russian kit at all!
