  1. Another terrible L96 paint job for you all to enjoy!
  2. I'm still only about 5k into my break-in because of the fact that it's so loud, heh. Good that it's going well. I'm considering making some sort of HPA system for a DMR to replace the one I sold next year. Possibly SMP, but the new PDiKs looks good as it doesn't require an FCU.
  3. TNK are just the retailer. HPAirsoft do them too.
  4. Maybe consider something like an MP7 or MP5 then. A compromise between the two.
  5. Glocks are always a good choice. The Marui clones (and indeed the Marui ones) are great and easy to find parts for. They're generic, but they get the job done. As for CQB, gas is a good bet because of the trigger respsonse. Springers don't fire fast enough but lots of people get by with the springer tri-shot shotguns. AEGs are fine too really but you might lose out on those corner shots if you're up against someone who can fire a bit quicker. In reality though you'll probably just trade kills. You can certainly get by in CQB with an AEG if that's what you're asking. When starting out, dumping money on a pistol is almost always a bad idea because they're not very versatile and can be pricey (magazines and gas). If you've not got an AEG then get something nice and generic if you're not sure what's best and then you'll always have something to fall back on if you find that the pistol/sniper rifle you think looks cool doesn't work out for you.
  6. Not this again, heh. Yeh, you want that CO2 to go through a regulator or some sites will ban it. Don't bother with pistols like Monty says as they always shoot hot.
  7. You can get the Visionking 1.5-5x32 if you need that extra FOV. Obviously the objective is bigger though so it doesn't quite have that short-dot look, but functionally they're excellent.
  8. It's like a budget but he can only buy his airsoft stuff on eBay.
  9. £50 - rent. If not, £180 minimum. £120 for your gun, £30 for your eyepro, BBs and an extra magazine and £25-30 for your entry fee. Airsoft is kind of all about how much you're comfortable with spending. It's a part of what makes it a great hobby. Read the stickies on this forum. 90% of 'I'm a new player what do I do about X' questions have already been answered so many times that they have their own threads. Edit Was going to edit in the above links. Damnet Monty.
  10. I think that's just what he wanted to confirm with you.
  11. Airsoft Peak is 18% off for the next 24 hours if you use the code Armistice. 1 order per account as far as I can tell.
  12. Wat? The 'max bid' system they have in place completely denies any sniping and has for years, right? :S
  13. All AEGs have adjustable hops there days (anything built in the last 5 years really). I don't even think you can find non-hopped guns except for some collectors items.
  14. Well as we discussed on the other pages, it's basically only possible to hit about the equivalent of 550 fps with a .20 with Joule creep. Unless you're cheating the crono with other weights, above that isn't going to happen.
  15. Basically agreed with Sitting Duck here. There are quite a few variables. A cheaper longer barrel will be far worse than a shorter, better finished barrel that's for sure. Thing is, your hop, ammo and the bore size come into play (the hop in particular) when looking at range, and that's why I go with a wider bore because I believe it to interfere less with the backspin as the BB travels down the barrel. More so than with other bits of airsoft gear you do get what you pay for when it comes to buying an aftermarket barrel. Prometheus/Laylax, PDI, EdGI, ORGA are all excellent barrels from my experience and many others, but like Sitting Duck says, you're not necessarily constrained by the length of your barrel at all. It depends what you want to do, but most lengths and diameters can be made to perform just as well as one another by changing one of the other variables.
  16. The light seems to come from about 2/3 down the tracer so you should be alright. The 'trip' for it is about half way down so again you should be alright.
  17. Aren't they getting the new generation of Warrior gear? That's what all these sales have been about AFAIK.
  18. I'll have to give them a shot (ehehe), thanks.
  19. Yeh, TM hop windows are basically universal amongst AEGs at this point so just pick the size that you want. Certainly the G&G will accept TM-spec barrels. Remember you will need to pay VAT and Parcelforce's stupid service charge. Not duty though as that only kicks in over £150 or something(?). So you're looking at £8 + 20% of your item ontop of what you pay, but PDI barrels are basically the best out there so it's worth it.
  20. That's why you use this guide: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/148-how-to-attach-pictures/ Kind of agree with the above now: This is just becoming a tad too cunty for this site. Back to toy guns maybe?
  21. That's novel. Have you used them before? I'd been keen to know how it goes - I know the bioshot ones have been known to expand very rapidly.
