Yeh. The warranty on airsoft guns doesn't tend to last very long except with certain manufacturers anyway. Most problems reveal themselves in the first month or so, so if you've not had it that long then you may want to hold off on the respray until then.

If the spring is compressed and not releasing it's a trigger mech problem usually ;something isn't allowing the sear to displace or there's nothing actuating it. It could be a catastrophic cylinder issue where the piston is completely stuck, but that's very unlikely. Again, seriously consider sending it back because to fix this you will probably have to void something. You need to rebuild the trigger mech. Probably just a rogue spring, but it could be that something has snapped and that's why I'd advise you send it back unless you're getting a new trigger mech. Usual disclaimer: Send it back. Can you fire it with the bolt back? (Don't let it slam fire, just see if it releases the spring tension). Is there clearly resistance from the spring when you pull the bolt back? This should allow us to rule out the sear.

Save up and get your UKARA registration and/or site membership done. You don't want to half-arse the look when you're spending so much money.

There are, but allegedly JG has the nicest stock as the join marks are minimal and is readily available in the UK. Again though, I hate to say it but the TM VSR and the Maruzen APS L96 clones are the most documented sniper rifles out there. All of this information could have been had through 5 minutes Googling. Happy to help, but you may get a quicker answer next time through a quick search.

Yeh it does. It's a clone - that's why it's a good alternative as all you'd really want to keep is the stock, receiver and maybe bolt handle.

You can't open the TM cylinder and then replace the head if you're switching springs. Once you put it back together (which in itself is a bit tricky because you'll need a new pin) you won't have a good air seal. Remember that time we said you'd need over £250 (ontop of the donor weapon) to do this? Also, this is why some people get a JG BAR-10 as it has a slightly nicer stock, but the internals aren't as well put together as TM. Not a problem if you're upgrading everything.

Probably the better site as Raven's minimum age is supposedly 16, heh. The spring guide should be fine, but as Happy says you don't want to go over 500 so play it safe. Again, FPS is not everything - hop, ammo and barrel matters more with accuracy, consistent accuracy is certainly what you want with a sniper rifle.

Oh, that's standard modification heh. You made it sound as if the whole thing was a big surprise. Most builds need the grip area drilling at a minimum for the macro line. May want to ask Tony to update that FAQ with the WE 416.

Site limit at Ravens and Gunman is 500fps. Also - and I mean this without a hint of condescension - your young arms are going to get tired of compressing an M170 very quickly. Set aside another £50-80 for a good scope with a clear reticule.

Indeed. It's also surprising just how many websites (especially airsoft ones) get away with the classic 'spend a certain amount to enter our giveaway' thing. It's still highly illegal for the same principle that raffles are - you're enticing customers to spend more for a chance at winning something extra; it falls under gambling laws if it's not free to enter or isn't 'skill based'. Same reason why you have a no purchase necessary clause on cereal box competitions that don't involve skill like sending in a drawing or something.

Buy a donor that is compatible with DG? I thought you knew from the start the WE 416 requires a bunch of extra machining to get right. Only a handful exist right now. Did you really not check the FAQ like I said :S? The 416 isn't listed there.
