EPICLLAMA coupon code - 10% off spraythemag.com
proffrink replied to EPICllama's topic in General Discussion
Old thread: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/26476-put-in-wrong-place-delete/ Did you really just ask to have the old thread deleted because you didn't like what was said in it? That's low man. Edit: I can go a little lower by posting the PM that you sent me after I asked why the bottles of gas are - at almost £18 a pop - twice as much as many other retailers: I'll say what I said again in the last thread: Your conduct is unbecoming of someone who's meant to be representing a shop front, and has alone convinced me to never want to shop at that link. I sincerely hope that others give an additional bit of thought towarda buying from there too given how you think that yoy can simply hold this community's members to randsom in the name of continuing the longevity of your own partnership. Which, may I add, is slightly unsettling in itself given that the chap on your Youtube channel (I presume is you) is only 15-16 years of age and so is surely unable to even purchase these products for himself. -
This is why sites should really chrono on the weight you're going to use and then calculate the energy in Joules, rather than what some do and give you some .2s to put through the chrono. I suppse that sets up a further need to trust people aren't saying they're using .2s when they're chronoing with .28s. I guess a set of scales would fix that but it's a lot of effort to go to.

Edits after fact checking: KS is allegedly a rebrand of JG (who in turn have many of their parts used by other manufacturers manufacturers - most notably Echo 1). So the answer is that they have no website as they're not strictly a manufacturer. Look up JG if you want to see their products.

Quite right. GBB, be it through Daytona, PolarStar or any other is the way to go. I've had success with my setup, but it cost me nearly as much as HPA when all was said and done, and was a proper PITA for months. M4s are easy to come by and rather adaptable. Just do it right and don't slap a cheapo scope onto a 10" and call it a DMR because you'll look a bit of a nonce. Any excuse to post: http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img909/4519/A8PaPr.jpg

Good post. Luka, no one is trying to unfairly deny you the pleasures of going out and buying your own gun, but you must understand what a legal knifedge this hobby sits on, and how careful we must be to ensure its longevity for all. Every time someone goes out and bends the rules we open ourselves up to losing a very enjoyable past-time, and we certainly wouldn't be the first country to have so. As I said before, most rental equipment is going to be as good - if not better- than anything you could afford to buy right now, so it's not too bad. Get out and play first. The rest will fall into place.
-
I'm thinking it's illegal for you to buy one if you're under 18.
-
Yep, anything full-face (I.e ypur eyes and mouth covered) All sites that provide rental equipment will also allow you to rent a full face mask too. If you're over 18 then you only have to cover your eyes (should you wish).
-
Yes, it's usual with TM mags to get a little coming out at the top as you fill it. My recommendation would he to hold the mag lower down (or wear gloves) to avoid the risk of frostbite. The rest is as simple as Baz says - tiny bit of gas for storage (to keep a seal and stop the o-rings drying out, and fully gassed - 5-8 seconds filling - for shooting. Also, they're magazines; not clips!

Basically it's another word for a day of airsoft at a site.

The majority of this site is UK based, yeh. I'm in the process of moving but looking to play around Ground Zero Woodland once I'm all done.

Picking my ideal sidearm for a sniper load-out?
proffrink replied to Comrade_Ward's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Rubber throwing knives for the ultimate stealth option. Perhaps a bayonet on the end of your sniper rifle too for CQB. -
You've done the right thing, Luke. You have a bright future - devoid of JustBBGuns woes - ahead of you.
-
Aye, once the mag is in the TMs are very much heavy enough. The glocks are realistically weighted and the new M9s have a very heavy chassis that makes them fairly identical to the real weight too. Try borrowing a TM for a full game and see what you think. And hey - if you feel like it - then essentially all of the TM range have aftermarket full metal body kits available for them.

I give up. This is why I don't post in these threads.

Looking for side and back molle solution
proffrink replied to BrightCandle's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
That looks quite good too. The MAV is a bit overpriced, frankly. -
Please carefully read the above three posts. Many, many edits as I'm on a phone: 'Gifting' is very much a grey area and not something I expect many here would be happy to advise on. Especially to someone who's already admitted that they're below the age to buy any airsoft gun, 2-tone or otherwise. All is not lost! If you're over 14 (or is it as low as 12 at some sites?) Then just go down and rent the kit to play with. Many sites have great rental equipment that could be much better than anything a beginner would like to drop their money on so early.

UKARA is one way of easily providing a valid defence for buying an airsoft gun which looks close to the real thing - an RIF (Realistic Immitation Firearm). Most AEGs (Automatic Electric Guns) are also RIFs and so need to be painted a high visibility colour unless you can prove to a retailer that you're a regular airsoft player. This is commonly referred to as '2-toning'. This is why most would recommend renting until you can get UKARA by becoming a member of a site and over 18 (and filling out the applicable form). There are other ways to provide a valid defence for buying, but UKARA membership is the most commonly accepted. Edit: UKARA: http://www.ukara.org.uk/ BAC (similar idea to UKARA): http://www.britishairsoftclub.co.uk/ We're getting ahead of ourselves here though. Just get down to a site and give it a go by renting

The 'Places to Buy' section gives good reviews on all popular UK sites for airsoft. http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/forum/10-places-to-buy/ Yes, an AEG is what you should be looking to start with. Have a budget of around £120-150 for your first gun. Anything cheaper (that isn't second hand) will likely be of very poor build quality. Some websites base their business around these cheaper guns and are generally of ill repute. Edit: You'll also want to make yourself aware of RIFs and the VCRA - the legalities of owning a gun that looks real and how to prove to a retailer that you play airsoft. There are a couple of threads for this, and it's probably the most common question asked in airsoft so I'd advise having a quick check around other threads where it's been asked before.

Looking for side and back molle solution
proffrink replied to BrightCandle's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I've got one of the newer Tactical Tailor two-piece MAVs anf it's brilliant as as lightweight molle solution. There's molle on the back and straps too; a hydration pack could be attached and the straw/hose threaded through to the front. http://www.fadedempire.co.uk/cpa-blog/after-sml.jpg They are a bit pricey, but I've seen them go up second hand on ocassion for ~£30-40. -
HPA rigged GBBR for the best trigger response. WA is a good place to start or GHK. Even a decent GBBR that isn't tapped is alright so long as the internals are up to scratch and the mags and gas are decent. Cooldown isn't a huge issue on semi so getting the fps consistent can be done with reletive ease. Add a flat hop to the mix and you're golden.

The Dorset Gun Company (Formerly A1 Airsoft)
proffrink replied to Shizbazki's topic in Places to Buy
Just a bit of trivia, but PayPal business accounts that have had a decent turnover for more than 3 years don't have the balance deducted temporarily in the case of a dispute. If they're having money deducted then that's a sign of a very, very small company (or very young). Either of which don't immediately fill one with any confidence. -

TM G18c sounds worth a look. It'll do 25-30rps with the stock slide. With the 50rd magazines they're fairly formidable and a blast to use. -
Yep, V12s with the foam taken out is a good call.
-
The only thing I'd say on springer shotguns is to get one with a stock of some description as it'll make cycling it much faster and easier.
-
Fair enough. I'd say in CQB they're just a necessary because of the different angles you might be getting shot from. In woodland there's really less chance of getting hit from the side and so one can usually get away with just glasses. A mesh mask is also a good compromise if you intend to do a fair bit of running around.
