I'm not sure what to say to that, but I assure you it's not meant to be any of those things. Trying to read tone over the internet through written-word is nigh-on impossible though - that's a lesson that took me about 10 years to learn. No hard feelings man.

So what's your point here? That they don't shoot unless that have to? Absolutely correct - no human in their right mind wants to kill in cold blood. Will they shoot you if you point something that they believe is a loaded gun at them? Absolutely - to not do so puts them and others around them at the highest possible risk. It is their job to keep the peace, and if they believe something to threaten that peace then they have to make a proportionate response (ranging all the way from a slightly stern talking-to up to taking someone's life). In the case of a deadly weapon in public, negotiation is rarely an afforded luxury (and in the case of a barrel pointed at an officer absolutely isn't one). And this is why it's really stupid to carry an RIF about, because the police will rarely take a chance on the fact that you're just carrying a toy gun in fear of the consequence if it turns out to be a real one. Who's this poor commuter - do you mean De Menezes? This kind of seems like the wrong example for a parallel argument - the police shot him because they suspected him of being a bomber. Utilising any less-lethal weapon was not an option because - in their minds - this man was going to blow up a station and kill tens of people. Lethal force is exactly what they thought was applicable at the time and couldn't leave anything to chance. I'm obviously not endorsing that, but you must realise that there is still nothing more effective at stopping someone than a gun right now and that Glock attachment you posted is no exception to the rule that no less-lethal is currently 100% effective. Tazers do carry a lot of risk, but again, what's your point? I'd far rather be Tazered than shot by a high-energy steel baton round at close range. Even if this was safer than Tazer (but less effective), then how on Earth would the officer identify whether the suspect has a pacemaker or heart condition? The issue I take with necroposting isn't that it's not convenient but that - by and large - nothing further is actually contributed to the discussion when it's bumped. Just in this thread, the comment was 'worth another look'. That basically gives anyone carte blanche to dig up an old and read thread because they think it looks cool. It just so happens you posted actual content, but in this case we've already derailed the original subject by talking about less-lethal weapons. I see it as easier to just disallow necroposting because it tends to cause more frustration than good on most forums and would argue if someone wants to reference an old thread then do just that, by linking back to a new thread. Absolutely not my decision to make of course, but opinions are like ar*eholes and I know I'm not completely alone in thinking necro-ing is a bit taboo even at the best of times.

Last post was a year and a half ago chaps. Obviously Tasers are already carried by some officers - that attachment would require all officers to have guns anyway and has been proven to have far more than satisfactory consequences when we're talking about less lethal projectiles. The muzzle energy is, just as with many other 'rubber bullets' still high enough to kill (especially if it's hitting a teenager). In addition, police 'shoot to stop' in these scenarios - a lot of the time that means killing someone. If they have a gun and are an immediate threat then risks like this (i.e. not shooting them) cannot afford to be taken. You will die if you point something that (they believe) looks like a gun at an armed police officer; there aren't two ways about it unfortunately.

Looks great. Much cleaner than mine right now - see you went with looping it underneath too for the added length. I plan to fill mine with RTV once it's all cleaned up.

Did you also manage to get your reg into the stock in the end, Dannn?
-
Exactly the above. I replaced everything because I'm a mong, but you don't necessarily need a 90 degree trigger, new piston head, cylinder and the like as the SDiK puts very little pressure on the internals of the gun. Less than the stock spring even.

I agree with sp00n - Novritsch is riding the whole parts-endorsement gravy train a little too hard these days. He looks like a great shot, but that are many ways of getting good performance out of a sniper rifle and I'm not necessarily convinced his 'kits' are the always the best combination of parts out there. I think in total without all the externals by VSR build is probably costing around £300-350. That's the regulator, base gun, hop unit etc. With all the externals it's coming to more like £450. I've owned a highly upgraded L96 too (until this week actually) and I was never entirely sold because sniping has never been my thing. With the incredibly short bolt pull, very consistent shot-to-shot fps output (and adjustable fps), plus the very high volume of gas that it can put out is ideal for wider bore and R-Hop builds that can get close to that 100m mark. I think the SDiK is probably the most skirmishable sniper rifle setup one can buy these days on paper. Add to the mix that you can use either HPA or CO2 bulbs, and it's a highly functional rifle. They make them for almost every major sniper rifle out there. Really it's about personal preference (as it always is). I picked the VSR because it's small and highly upgradable and has been largely regarded as being basically the most functional platform that you can buy (partly down to the vast array of aftermarket parts). Certainly check out the Mancraft SDiK though. It's the way forward in sniping right now and a lot of people on the airsoft sniper forums seem to be getting onboard.

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
proffrink replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Protip on the letter of bum rapage: Don't wait for it. As soon as the tracking says it's at your local depot you can call in, give them the tracking ID and then pay for it over the phone. Saves about 3 days between the depot printing your customs bill and it getting to you. -
Yeh, hopefully worth the money.

That barrel is more expensive than some people's guns. Don't scratch it.

f*ck off nerd

They probably require it to be 'locked' I'd imagine. Airsoft in Germany is weird.

Hey, welcome to the forums.
-
I'll admit that whilst I detest that SCAR, that SR PDW P3 looks tempting.
-
As you should - I'm certainly not complaining about this thread, but the posts in the others. We seem to be a lot better than last time though, heh.
-
I had that slight pressure issue I described to you in a PM. Mine was shipped after the 10th, so I've messaged them.
-
Don't think there is In a pinch you could go to 'full version' at the bottom and then use the default skin to report before switching back.
-
More than the total number of forum posts. That's absolutely insane.
-
Are you using that IPB built-in anti-spam network thingy? Any idea how many it's caught? I found it a bit useless when they released it but their database has to be pretty big now.
-
Also, double post but can we perhaps stop posting in these threads and use the report button? I know it's really tempting, but you must realise these are run with scripts after the initial authentication and will never see your quips anyway. You serve only to have a quick giggle at everyone's expense (who then have to see the thread on top again); you're doing their work for them. Edit: Mods just got the them. Yay.

I just saw this on their Facebook page. I know a few of you use the SDiK so I felt it worth sharing:

Vetting new members and adding extra security measures generally do more harm than good. I've worked on a lot of corporate websites and the like (including forums); the ones with overzealous 'new poster rules' ones always tend to get less users - maybe this isn't correlated at all, but I get the feeling it can't be making the user experience any easier. I know I detest websites that make you jump through any number of hoops to sign up. It's hard enough for a lot of people to stop lurking and start posting without extra measures to ensure their legitimacy. I feel a few spam posts every couple of months is worth it for making the forums even just slightly more approachable to newer players. So long as the mod team are taking down these sorts of posts within 6 hours then they're doing their job well, and if we all ignore the posts they get buried very rapidly anyway. One course of action is an 'airsoft related security question' like 'name the legislature passed in 2007 that has many stipulations applying to airsoft', but even something like that runs the risk of turning away new players who might know absolutely nothing and have some on here to find out. Some of those users are the ones that go on to post 'what gun should I get' threads, sure, but ultimately some of them do return as contributing members. It's tough.

You'll probably be fine, right? Generally it's the cooldown that absolutely kills GBBs in cold weather - if it's a consistently low temperature then you just need to fill it more. Fill it once, give it 5 minutes to contract a little in the cold and then fill it again.

Just be sure to whitelist any websites you use frequently if you're happy with using them with adverts - AdBlock can do some seriously nasty stuff to Javscript that it assumes are popups and such.
