Now that you mention it, it does look much more appropiate Nick. Flyye make a version for around the £40 quid mark which should be good quality being Flyye. I found some more pictures of Rangers in the black vests : SAW Gunner in a black vest A group of Rangers pose for a picture; the two Rangers on the left are using carbines. Note how the middle Ranger has two magazines taped together with 100mph tape, I've read carboard was used as a spacer in combination to the tape to create what we now know as mag clamps. Also worth noting, the Ranger on the far left has a magnified scope mounted atop his carry handle and a cheek riser on his stock. -
Hey Guys, I'm going to be starting work on a loadout based around the time of Operation Gothic Serpent soon, it is more commonly referred to as Blackhawk Down. As of yet I'm unsure on whether I'll be doing a Ranger or Delta force loadout, I will eventually do both as it'll be hard to resist once I have suitable kit. The loadouts I've seen so far on the internet have all been from America, and everyone has cut a corner somewhere be it with the armor being a cheap nylon copy or using an m4 instead of the Car-15 variant that were in use at the time, which I feel ruins the overall look. I'm going to try and be authentic as possible and try not to cut corners where at all possible; because I'll be determined to make this as authentic as possible, it will probably take a long time to finish (this and I'm skint at the moment lol!) This thread will follow my progress and also be to help anyone taking on a similar loadout so we can pool our resources - would be cool to see a few of us turn up at a game together in the future! I'll start the ball rolling with the best attempt I've come across so far by a guy at my local : I'm assuming he has based his loadout on the film rather than real life, I'll be updating this post as time goes on with pictures from both the film and real life. At this moment in time I'm thinking of keeping it true to real life, but sacrifices may have to be made if certain things are hard to come by or no reference material exists. I'd also like to share these pictures of what I've been told are US Army rangers from the Operation (I cannot confirm this however so take it with a pinch of salt), wearing the Black PT armor shown only on Delta force in the movie. This could be an alternative for those of you having trouble sourcing Ranger Battle Armor (herein referred to as RBA) or PAGST flak vests which are shown on Rangers in the movie.

Oh Ian, I wasn't disputing which was better, the CYMA may by all means be better, I've heard very good things about them! (Reading it back I give off the feeling I'm a brand snob, which is not the case) I just found it hilarious his opinion was based entirely on the sound the charging handle made without taking any other factors into account.

I had someone tell me their Cyma m14 was a better gun than my G&G m14 based entirely on the comparison of the noise made by the cocking handle...

Where did you get it from Mack? I'll be getting one soon and wouldn't mind paying a few extra quid for better chin straps, the ones on my emerson MICH used to rub my face raw lol. -

Folded balaclava held on with an LBE band, I'm a genius haha!

Got a scope mount on and a red dot for now, soon to be replaced with a good scope. Also need a bipod,leather sling and a proper cheek riser with pouch, but Adapt, improvise and overcome as they say lol!

Crap, had you confused with sniper777 or whatever his user name is, sorry mate lol! I wish I'd got the same one you're going for, I couldn't find it in the UK but its only 7 pounds extra than I paid to get it from Pro-airsoft supplies
G&P m14 mounts are easy to get hold of, G&G seem to be sold out everywhere or £50+

Just saw a kid so small he had a brassard around his thight upside down and did a C clamp grip on an mp5 with his arm fully extended and was still a good 2 inches short of the front sight post. Was serioulsy like a militant oompa loompa

He can't of been much older than 11 at the very oldes and hadn't been to his first skirmish so he said, but already had a Condor chest rig, a fast helmet, an mtp ubac and aload of unneccesary stuff for a first game! Kids get too caught up on COD when they start airsoft! He was holding a glock 17 and I sh*t you not, his fist around the grip was about the same width as the slide lol!

its amazing the difference the presentation in a picture can make, it had been up a week and I won it with the second bid just because it was a bit tangled in the picture lol! Gonna run it as my new rig I think, Theres a nice PLB belt i'm looking at to go with it. Providing I win the PLB belt I'll be selling all my ALICE kit
