  1. Oh? I could do that for sure, the website gives the impression you've got to be really fit lol. I wonder what the "interview" process involves.
  2. I'm looking to go. In the process of sorting out my Milsim kit. If I can get everything squared away in time and afford it I'll try my best to get there. What sides would people be looking to join? I like the look of the Airborne rangers, though I doubt I'm anywhere near fit enough for that yet.
  3. Fingers crossed an airsoft manufacturer somewhere in Taiwan or HK will cotton on to this and make an airsoft version... If moulds are already in existence then it won't be too long before it happens.
  4. It's not beyond the realms of possibility, is it? I'm not familiar with the Dan wesson platform but I am aware of "power down shells". Could these not be utilised in conjuction with a barrel conversion by a tech/machinist? Thought I'm unaware if that is bordering on being illegal due to our firearm laws
  5. So am I mate. At least it's a step in the right direction...
  6. Sorry to kill the buzz but it's a 177. steel pellet air pistol according to that article... I'm still getting one since I collect those too. Heres hoping they go the route of dan wesson and produce an airsoft one too.
  7. All cars are Horses and carts because they have wheels and the propulsion (Engine/horse) is usually in the front.
  8. Now someone just needs to make a Mauser Gewehr 1898 then I'll don a trench coat & fedora before relieving everyone of their Lee enfields... (Wind that shakes the barley)
  9. Welcome aboard mate, I'm in SE London. TWA's my old regular but I'm out of the game at the moment due to lack of a gun and a car - soon to be remedied however!
  10. Never gets any less soul crushing when you're outbid at the last second on ebay. Someone just got a good deal on a Carinthia 4, under 50 quid including postage.

My internet got me... Had 30 seconds left and it took 20 to process a bid, by the time I saw I'd sent my next bid I lost :(

nothing more annoying than people bidding before the last few seconds raising the prices.

protip, there's an auto bid function.. so ALWAYS put the absolute highest you'd pay for it. if you're prepared to pay 51,63, put that, not 50.

  11. Anyone any good at taking measurements from photographs and care to hazard a guess at the length of a collapsed and extended m72a9 for me? All I can find online is that it's longer than an a2 but shorter than 80cm.

Modernised LAWs are 980mm extended, 775mm collapsed. Original version 'Nam' versions of the LAW were 881mm extended and 630mm collapsed.

Cheers Lads, got a bit of work ahead of me. The piece I was going to make my mould from is an m72a2 so It's going to need alot of modifiying before I can use it as a master for a cast prototype which will in turn be used for a fibreglass mould.

Will be worth it in the end, in for a penny!

  12. I'm lucky in that the PRR is also correct for my early USMC kit. For PRR bodies : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-CLEAN-grade-C-Prc-343-bowman-H4855-Prr-100-WORKING-body-/221574707983?pt=UK_ConsumerElectronics_SpecialistRadioEquipment_SM&hash=item3396e1bb0f The seller has a lot of PRR related stuff for sale, I'm sure if you contacted him he'd be able to source empty bodies if you wanted to go into converting them.
  13. In essence, yeah. I'd like a connector for real Bowman's as you said. Thats the only reason I've not bought a surplus one. I personally (if its do-able) would love a PRR with pmr guts so that I could keep my kit accurate but not need everyone else I want to speak to using a PRR also.
  14. I'd have no problem lugging about an antenna or back packing a radio, IF it was useful. I mean, I've always liked the idea and I'm all for immersion, but I think the problem lies in we are limited by range, would these extend range at all? If they did I'd be all for it! RE your questions : Are you guys even BOTHERED about realistic looking military radios? Your average player, maybe not. Milsimmers and gear wh*res like my self, I'd love one, I just dont have the money to buy an expensive replica (I hear most are rubbish anyway) Would you prefer EXACT replica's or just something more rugged than most 446's? I'd allow slight differences if it appeared the same on initial inspection/sitting in a pouch. Similar controls and functions would be nice. How big are most of the game sites? This really REALLY varies, you can have ridiculously smalll sites with 30 players, upto sites with 100+ per side. I've no idea on their size but I know a few MOD training areas are rented for weekends to put it in terms you might be familiar with. Do you have an actual problem with radios that needs fixing? Cant speak on this, I'm yet to take the comms plunge but I'm in the process of doing my pre-purchasing research. I'm not really content with the civilian looking pmr's. My inner gear wh*re wants something legitimate to match the rest of my kit.
  15. Cheapest motorla pmr446 which takes a headset? Sister bought me some T41's on holiday not knowing they don't take headsets...
  16. I won't drink the tap water where I live in South East London, it's vile. In Glasgow however it's pretty clean and nice tasting so I've no quarrel drinking it there. The difference in water becomes apparent in that when I return to London, my hair doesn't feel "wet" in the shower. Its incredibly hard to explain but I think it must be something to do with hard/soft water and all that rubbish?
  17. Sounds my cup of tea, I'll look out for them! Cheers James, and you Cav for the bergen info!
  18. Are there any Milsim events where you do have to carry everything into the field with you Jcheese? I.E. Wear your bergen and have to carry all your stuff pretty much everywhere? Must sound mental but the amount I paid for my FILBE and the amount I'm going to pay for a air support pack, I'd like to "use" them as it were lol!
  19. I've a set of mess tins and a hexi cooker but looking to save a bit of space in my webbing so I can carry more water, will likely get a crusader set. Just need to know if they're any good first
  20. Without hijacking and whilst we're on the subject, anyone know what the current issue cook system is? Crusader? Confused about the osprey bottle/ '58 pattern bottle thing are these the same? I know private purchase jet boils are probably the order of the day but I'm on a budget.
  21. Going to see '71. Will report back if it's naff or not in the morning

Was a brillant film mate. Had my attention the whole way through, beautifully executed, no political bias both sides shown as corrupt and two faced. Really showed the human side of the war and that people were just caught up in it!

  22. Ordered some miliput and a Resin casting kit, prototype Law will be made soon.
