It's really just a big mess to be honest, I expected more from Airfix, but I'm guessing now they just churn out mass produced crap. For the trenches I'll need to purchase static grass etc to dress the scene. I would strongly reccommend against buying it mate, you could get a good few decent models for the same price if not cheaper. I'm still in two minds whether to take it back, just hate the train journey.

Just bought this set mate from a store in a shopping centre. I paid £25 and I must say I don't think Airfix is at all worth the money, will be sticking to other brands from now on. There's beyond excessive flashing on near all of the infantry, some don't even have faces where its been covered by flash. one german rifle isn't even a rifle its a curly point missing much of the middle section. I've no complaints RE the tanks, as usual the quality on their vehicles is okay; However I expected more from the trenches, they're going to require a lot of work to make them look remotely like they do on the box. I'd return it but I can't be bothered going back to the store so I'm going to have to spend a few hours with a craft knife trying to salvage the mess that is the soldiers.

They restock in october, will have to wait till then for my stock pad and front sight

I'm going to be using the paper mache technique to form a landscape, then i'll buy/make trees fences and buildings. Few trees on the very edge of the base, the rest can be grass/sand/soil with your tank and infantry posed there?

I've no experience with them, the set I had was the massive 60th anniversary set. Cost around £50 I believe. I'm led to also believe they're now collectors pieces?

Outbid in the last second for a set of MTP airborne webbing for the measingly sum of an extra pound! I used to do that when I was your age James, I had the D day anniversary set by airfix (bought it three times in total as each time I finished it someone stomped all over it) And I'd get frustrated halfway through a half track and be like f*ck this im doing a landing craft lol. Now I get too engrossed in things, I spent the whole day pretty much doing that tank, didn't move from my chair except maybe 5 times!

What would of really been impressive was if I'd drank the other 4 I had! Alas, its still not finished in my eyes, once I get some washes I'll be able to add depth to her.

It was a good laugh trying to get them off the backing a little bit tipsy, punched myself in the chin a few times as my hand slid off but the decal didn't lol!
