  1. Designated Marksman(s) Rifle. Not quite a sniper rifle, but usually an accuratised version of the standard service rifle used by a Designated Marksman (DM) to reach out to targets beyond the range of the rest of his team. In airsoft terms, this usually can be any gun which has been upgraded to circa 450fps dependent on site rules. Usually has to be locked to semi auto and some sites include a MED for DMR's. TL:DR (Usually)An AEG/GBB which has been tuned to be accurate beyond ranges of normal non sniper rifles OR to be more consistent.
  2. Plot twist : He's an IS militant who has made it past the FBI agents posted at Heathrow. What the media haven't told us is that the IS caliphate is really an army of Oompa Loompa's.
  3. I'm going to release a series of airsoft guns this size so under 18's can use them for airsoft and not have unwieldly adult size guns. Oh wait it's a shi* idea and Tokyo Marui have already done it Bad luck ya little whipper snappers. Maybe these could be used with a "pew pew pew" rule instead of a bang rule.
  4. I was lucky to get my dad to take me to school when I was wee, never mind actually spend any proper time with me at a skirmish lol! Good on you Lads for spending quality time with your kids. Welcome to the forums aswell mate.
  5. Had heavy flash backs of the Black hawk down scene there Ian. I should really get down to a first aid course.
  6. I should be sorted with a set of wheels by the next one so will definetly have to book in and put faces to names!
  7. Good to see you posting again Ian mate!
  8. Checked out a few of his songs, its really good what he's trying to do for traditional Irish music. I'd be a liar if I said I'd listen to it regularly (at the moment) I'm very much used to the sounds of the wolfe tones and the Dubliners etc. Gary Og is about as "modern" as I dare to go with the genre. I don't mind Damien's version of the Foggy dew though! My favourite cover has to be by Sinead O'Connor and the Chieftans however Chills up the spine!
  9. Can't say I've come across him (to my memory) mate, will look him up now!
  10. Luke Kelly, legendary! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkqK72W-HLk
  11. Wish I would have been alive to see Luke Kelly perform live. Legend

I was going to take up the guitar and start singing folk songs to entertain my self, then I realised I can't sing. The amount of Guiness that would need to be consumed to convince me otherwise would leave me incapable of playing any instrument. Ach, mo bhrón!

  12. It's an Alien world to them, I'm not justifying their actions just trying to explain not to take it in the worst way. Think of this way, you're a squaddie/ex squaddie, you've never played airsoft, all you see and of heard of it are the Walts, you're going to assume its all that way; we just do as humans, its the same way racism and all other descrimination happens, past experiences being associated with all future experiences, like cavemen learning not to eat a certain berry because it gives you the shits. Of course they're not going to understand, we're all men right (for the most part) , we all like guns and action etc. - They get paid to do it and given all the gear to do it with, of course they're going to think hmmpf mugs paying for kit we get for free and running around with toy guns.... It's just a source of banter for them, just like paintballers are for the majority of airsofters! I'll be honest before I got into airsofting, I'd always liked guns, had the odd airsoft gun to twat about with shooting my mates and plinking. I saw scout the doggies videos and thought that "airsofters" were insane paying grands for kit and £300 for toy guns. Then, one day I took the plunge, I got involved after enjoying a game of paintballing but desiring realism. I thought this is a perfect excuse to buy all the cool military stuff I've always put off as a waste of money. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying anyone is a c*nt for buying loads of expensive gear, I do it myself now, I'm obssessed with accurate kit!
  13. Just being greedy now Nutster! Jealously is bubbling, might have to bankrupt my self and make one too! Your not as bad as the guy on Arnie's who has TWO M72A7's in perfect condition, he makes me want to cry in a corner for not having one!
  14. When he fires, fire yours, like wolves howling at each other. It probably won't help but it'll make him aware of you - or make him think he has an echo in his garden.
  15. 2.4km later and I think I'm going to get on with this chestrig, didn't bounce about and weight was nicely distributed! Anyone know h ow TAS tan matches up to Pantac CB?

  16. Just took delivery of a TAS chestrig with pouches, used with complimentary Afghan sand! Edit: Just found a Casualty card in the utility pouch, thankfully it hasn't been filled in!
  17. Ed, you know you're going to get the GHK eventually... Just do it Then by the time you're an expert we shall all follow suit Would also give you a nice excuse to do that USMC kit you wanted to do ages ago!

  20. Don't we already have a quick questions thread? Edit: Yes, we do. http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/17155-the-quick-questions-thread/?hl=%2Bquick+%2Bquestions
  21. Not to sure on the make but I believe it was CYMA as it was full metal. An AK47 AEG for £50 at a bootsale brand new. (this was pre-VCRA). It was either that or a Double Eagle g36c I paid £20 for, memory isn't too hot! The first "proper" gun I got was a JG bar 10 Edit: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/17250-what-was-your-first-airsoft-gun-would-you-ever-sell-it/
  22. He also didn't hit the balloon, he hit the metal plate it was on and the fragmenting bullet popped the balloon. The balloon was just to make it easier for the spotter to confirm a hit - his words.
  23. Anyone used a WAS BMF bergen ? Was going to get an x300 but they're out of stock, the BMF looks similar to the FILBE I was going to get for my FR kit but I'm worrying about it having no hip pad putting all the weight on my shoulders?
