  1. for 3 magazines and a BFG a mini MAV is absolutely perfect, spare BBs and speed loader can be kept in a trouser pocket. Pistol on your right hip (assuming you're right handed), pistol mags on the other hip, or even on the MAV, you'll have plenty of room. For water carriage you can either have a bottle in a trouser pocket or get a camel bak. Personally I'd say plate carrier = CQB and chest rig = woodland. You'll appreciate the extra protection a PC provides in CQB as you'll be getting shot from up close a lot more, not only that, unless you really splash out and get a super lightweight carrier they're actually quite heavy and you'll feel the weight slogging it round the woods all day. If I know I'm gonna be out for a full day in the woods I'll wear an LBT1961G with a little backpack... more carrying space than I could ever use but it's light and offers plenty of ventilation so I don't overheat. For FIBUA or CQB I'll rock out a plate carrier as I know I'm probably not going to be hiking long distances or having to get down on my front very often.
  2. The capacity of a battery (mAh) makes a difference to it's discharge rate too, a 2600mAh 15C battery will kick out a lot more amps than a 800mAh 25C battery for example. more amps = better trigger response and faster rate of fire. I'd always recommend going for the biggest battery you can fit. You should be able to get a WE airsoft 1450mAh 7.4v LiPo into that stock no problem, they're what I use in my guns now and I've had no cause to complain at all.
  3. ships are placed on lots of wooden blocks when they're in dry dock/on a cradle like that one, it compresses so the hull doesn't get damaged.
  4. Balls. Probably easier to get a real rail!
  5. one giant game, multiple objectives all being fought for concurrently. as an actual airsoft game I found it to be quite bad, loads and loads of cheats (not just non-hit-taking, 10 minute respawn that only lasts long enough to fill a hi-cap etc). If you turn up for a laugh and play the spray and pray game with a hi cap and a lightweight kit it's probably pretty fun in it's own way. If I were to go again it'd be more for the social aspect of meeting friends etc than the actual game.
  6. on that topic actually, I figure if anyone's gonna know it'll be you chris, what's the best ceracote match for the daniel defence dark earth colour on their rails? The Madbull one's colouration is off and it annoys me!
  7. they've just started again, have been on the market for about a month. Personally I wouldn't use a BFG in woodland, too much chance of losing it!
  8. lots of 6-7 foot high walls at STANTA, having a ladder makes it easier to attack compounds with only one gate.
  9. a few more have surfaced from the weekend, credit to @guy_butler_photography on instagram for these:
  10. That's clearly still not as quick as a Systema though. when I say the response on a PTW is instant it's because I mean it, I don't mean 'fast' I mean instant. Like real gun instant, the time it takes for a sear to break and a hammer to swing forward instant. Whether you'd notice the difference while playing... that's by the by, like I said, you can get close but you'll never quite get there with an AEG gearbox without clever pre-cocking mosfets and even then it'll still be a couple of milliseconds slower than a PTW.
  11. hammer sear is worn out, get a new one.
  12. if that were the case though, we'd all be using G&G combat machines.... there's no argument that a properly modded systema PTW is BETTER than pretty much anything else going. Sure you can pour money into an AEG and getting it performing nearly as well as a PTW, but you'll never achieve the instant trigger response that a PTW has, certainly not without creating a 50RPS monster which is pretty pointless in itself. That and the improved materials, real-spec grips and receivers... I can see why people buy them. I personally have invested heavily into the TM recoil platform and probably won't move away from it to a PTW unless a really really attractively priced package comes my way. I'm planning to upgrade my TM M4 to get as close as I can to PTW trigger response without outrageous ROF and it's looking like I'm going to need to sink ~£300 into what's already a £600 gun to get there. Another £300 and I could have bought a PTW.
  13. Green Devil Bio BBs, swear by them. They degrade entirely in soil in about 24-36 months, are more consistent and accurate than so called 'premium' BBs like madbull or blaster devils. Ironfoot.co.uk is the place to go to get them.
  14. use a cigarette filter tip soaked in meths, run it through a couple of times, change it for a dry one... if it's still not clean do it again. Rinse and repeat until the barrel runs through clean. the chances of it being gearbox grease are slim, it's more likely just the crap that came in it from the factory.
  15. I have a tongue like a black and decker! As M_P said, 14.5" SOCOM profile outer barrel, madbull daniel defence 12.5" RIS2. 363mm inner barrel is exactly the right length.
  16. PCU L5 clone (allwin I think) in alpha green.
  17. Seriously bright. Like seeing stars can disorient people bright. Won't ever buy another china clone torch again, the difference in light output is (LOLOL) night and day.
  18. A quick in-FOB snap of me at STANTA this weekend just gone. Was going for a SEAL-ish look to blend in with the rest of the guys there, didn't stand out like too much of a sore thumb (with the exception of being the only one without a helmet!).
  19. Just worn mine for an entire weekend at STANTA and didn't have any issues with fogging, only treated the lens inserts once with the ESS anti fog cloth on the Saturday morning and it was fine.
  20. nice copypasta. FYI 330ml has been the standard sized can in the UK for as long as I can remember... and I am OLD.
  21. As far as I know this doesn't use a speaker, it's a small propane noise cannon. They're quite popular with reenactors. If they can miniaturise this into a peq box with maybe a gas tank in a foregrip I can see these becoming really popular. I can see there being plenty of issues with these if they're made widely available (no legal issues, they're perfectly legal). In CQB a propane cannon will be extraordinarily loud, hearing damage loud. Not so much in woodland, but I'd definitely be wearing hearing protection if I were shooting one.
  22. Just googled it, I'd go with custom machined barrel nut with a 14mm thread on the outside face. You could probably have one made but it wouldn't be cheap.
  23. I think what happened there is that you went full retard. Never go full retard.
  24. no, there is no way with off the shelf parts you can attach a suppressor directly to a delta ring or upper receiver. you could make a very very short barrel and attach it that way, but the answer to your question remains 'no'.
