different game engines, BF4 is massively more demanding than BF3. I don't care how optimised it is, if you're struggling to get 60fps on BF3 you're gonna struggle to get 16fps on BF4. Frostbite 2 != Frostbite 3
-
if your computer is struggling with BF3 it'll melt itself through the floor with BF4.

In order to buy pyro you need to be 18+ and sign a waiver, you'll need to print it off and send it to them in the post with a copy of your passport/drivers license to prove your age.

essentially, it's not a poor man's chrono it's a feed of bullshit. you wanna know how hot your gun is shooting? chrono it.

Get this battery instead; http://www.componentshop.co.uk/7-4v-2600mah-cranestock-battery.html It will fit in the handguard and not only will it last a LOT longer (probably a whole weekend of play) it'll also give you faster trigger response and better rate of fire.

Yeah, looks like you've got a dodgy/fake lens there, I use ESS goggles/glasses exclusively and I've only ever had the anti fog coating bubble like that after I scraped it pretty badly with a bit of plastic by accident. Tactical-kit do replacement lenses.

Difference between airsoft and paintball chrono?
jcheeseright replied to Lord_Metile's topic in General Discussion
could be poorly calibrated, or it could be that all the guns were shooting 300fps ish, all of mine do. -
My pistol is now very nearly done, just need a couple of +2 magazine bases and it's the 'full costa'.

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
jcheeseright replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Depends on how you define overpriced I guess, I didn't pay full retail price for the torch and there's NOTHING on the market which is anywhere near as bright that I can also fit onto the rail of a glock pistol. Expensive yes, best in class yes. -

The front face on a real surefire is tougher than a chinese plastic one, but it can still be shot out. tactical optician ( http://www.tacticaloptician.co.uk/?Store ) does protective lenses that you can fit to the front and will also fit replacement lenses to surefire torches if they've already been shot. -

Indeed, the Chinese lie! They may be using LEDs capable of 1000 lumens but the rest of it clearly isn't stacking up in most cases. Lesson learned for me, will be sticking with genuine surefire where I can from now. -
Is Tokyo Marui Recoil Shock worth the extra money?
jcheeseright replied to Super64's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
the marui 417 is a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG way off at the moment, they don't even have a display prototype yet. The picture on the teaser poster they put out is a real HK417, As for whether recoil shock is worth it... depends, can you comfortably afford to drop £500 on a BB gun and then probably another £150 on magazines? if so, HELL YEAH they're worth it, best AEG you can buy! So many more features than the VFC; Recoil, working bolt stop, real dimension magazines, reliable, no crappy umarex trademarks. -
bargain then!

and this is why most retailers won't touch it with a shitty stick.

JPC isn't a bad shout actually, you'll need to make/buy some fake plates to put in it though or it'll flap around all over the place.

zero your sights, learn to hit the broad side of a barn. most airsofters I have encountered struggle with the above two things.

British Airsoft Club, set up as an alternative to UKARA by a retailer which didn't meet the requirements to become a UKARA member so set up their own system and charged people X amount of money to join it; I expect they've raked in a huge amount of cash for doing pretty much shit-all. Now someone's realised that BAC membership means nothing in the real world because almost all of the big retailers refuse to accept it and HMRC probably don't even know what it is.

for 3 magazines and a BFG a mini MAV is absolutely perfect, spare BBs and speed loader can be kept in a trouser pocket. Pistol on your right hip (assuming you're right handed), pistol mags on the other hip, or even on the MAV, you'll have plenty of room. For water carriage you can either have a bottle in a trouser pocket or get a camel bak. Personally I'd say plate carrier = CQB and chest rig = woodland. You'll appreciate the extra protection a PC provides in CQB as you'll be getting shot from up close a lot more, not only that, unless you really splash out and get a super lightweight carrier they're actually quite heavy and you'll feel the weight slogging it round the woods all day. If I know I'm gonna be out for a full day in the woods I'll wear an LBT1961G with a little backpack... more carrying space than I could ever use but it's light and offers plenty of ventilation so I don't overheat. For FIBUA or CQB I'll rock out a plate carrier as I know I'm probably not going to be hiking long distances or having to get down on my front very often.

The capacity of a battery (mAh) makes a difference to it's discharge rate too, a 2600mAh 15C battery will kick out a lot more amps than a 800mAh 25C battery for example. more amps = better trigger response and faster rate of fire. I'd always recommend going for the biggest battery you can fit. You should be able to get a WE airsoft 1450mAh 7.4v LiPo into that stock no problem, they're what I use in my guns now and I've had no cause to complain at all.

ships are placed on lots of wooden blocks when they're in dry dock/on a cradle like that one, it compresses so the hull doesn't get damaged.

Balls. Probably easier to get a real rail!

one giant game, multiple objectives all being fought for concurrently. as an actual airsoft game I found it to be quite bad, loads and loads of cheats (not just non-hit-taking, 10 minute respawn that only lasts long enough to fill a hi-cap etc). If you turn up for a laugh and play the spray and pray game with a hi cap and a lightweight kit it's probably pretty fun in it's own way. If I were to go again it'd be more for the social aspect of meeting friends etc than the actual game.

on that topic actually, I figure if anyone's gonna know it'll be you chris, what's the best ceracote match for the daniel defence dark earth colour on their rails? The Madbull one's colouration is off and it annoys me!

What's the best Price for a blank firing grenade?
jcheeseright replied to MrCheesman94's topic in General Discussion
they've just started again, have been on the market for about a month. Personally I wouldn't use a BFG in woodland, too much chance of losing it! -
lots of 6-7 foot high walls at STANTA, having a ladder makes it easier to attack compounds with only one gate.
