Aluminium(or Zamak) machined body it seems. Uses a new gas system. Comes with a Cerokete coating. Looks like TM is going all out on this one.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olCr4zjAm6k&feature=youtu.be&t=1m47s
Release date & price-TBA

Pretty good improvement from last year's shizouka announcements. GBB M4- hoping the new system is good and not a pile of pot metal crap. TM are pretty good when it comes to GBB system design so I have high hopes for this. Expect a high price from all the fancy stuff like CNC work and cerokete coating(And of course the TM brand name) M870 breacher,as expected. hopefully the new cylindrical gas tank will require less long term upkeep that the current one. A hicapa AEP is a nice addition, adds some variety since AEPs are slowly gaining popularity it seems.
417 recoil shock- Can we expect a new gearbox design? The larger buffer tube might allow a beefier recoil mech too. Might not be popular as a DMR platform since TM recoils are over engineered in some ways so modding is hard- but the battle rifle style would be very cool.

Monty reacted to Russe11 in good idea on pistols
Unless you do a lot of CQB, there is not much need for a pistol. Pistols are generally just a cool accessory. If you do a lot of CQB then you want a MK23 Socom. The TM one if you can afford it, the ASG or HFC one if you're on a budget. These are non blowback pistols that are very quiet (especially the TM) and pretty accurate. If you just want a pistol because pistols are cool, find one you like the look of and then ask who makes the best version of it.

Monty reacted to Longshot in question about two tone
^ I see your thinking Bright, and it's certainly sensible advice, but surely if a kid went to your local site with a RIF and someone said "where did you get that RIF?" They could just say "my dad's mate who used to airsoft gave it to me."
-
Monty reacted to Longshot in question about two tone
To be fair I imagine nothing will happen unless he takes it out and waves it around in public, thus proving the aforementioned dickness.
It's illegal to sell, import or manufacture a RIF. It's the latter that he's done, and it doesn't sound like he has any defence should the police wish to prosecute him for doing so. Again though, will they ever know or care?

Settled on 180mm - it will be long, but I'm 178cm and my hands come down to 10cm above my knees so it shouldn't be unwieldy.
32mm wide and interior access so I can tune it. £14.98 posted from Combat Airsofters. Only 1 left
And an SHS M90 spring from Bullseye Country Sport - £9.99 posted

Monty reacted to TheGunsmith in Have a look at this and please give some feedback.
I have very recently joined this fine forum and after my intitial hellos have been asked to put some examples of the work that I do on here.
A very brief history of myself may come in useful I suppose,
Raised in Sourh Africa I came into contact with firearms at a very early age. My father carried an old 1911, mum a .22 unique and I eventually owned and carried a 9mm S&W.
One of my fathers closest friends was a man called Chris Reeve. He was an exceptional knife maker and can now be found on the web working in Idaho under the same name.
I used to work for him making knives and through him I learnt my tradecraft, business values and work ethics.
Chris is a perfectionist and he has gone on to being one of the worlds best and most respected cutlers in the world and I am very proud to be associated with him.
Suffice it to say that I fell into gun smithing through the military and found that I have a natural aptitude to most things firearms related.
My father is an avid pistol shooter even at the ripe old age of 78. He was asked by the owner of the shop where he gets his supplies if he could make a set if grips for a Samurai Edge. Dad happily agreed but before he could do them he was diagnosed with cancer. He lost the will to do any kind if woodwork but knowing what I do he asked me if I would have a look.
I had already done a 1911 for him as a gift and I readily agreed.
I contacted the owner of the Samurai Edge and was given free reign with sorting the pistol out for him.
I received the pistol and it was in a very sorry state. The barrel was loose, the mag was shot, the inners were worn, the seals were on their last legs and cosmetically it looked pretty rough.
I set to work restoring this pistol both internally and externally. The photos attached are the end result.
The owner was over the moon with the work that was done to it and suggested that I get onto some of the forums. The aim here is for some feedback from you guys and girls not only as shooters but also as airsoft weapon enthusiasts.
I would love to hear your comments and suggestions.
I hope to build a reputation as a "go to" for all things airsoft.
Many thanks
The Gunsmith.
For some reason I can't upload the "before" photos. Apparently they are to big!! If anybody has any suggestions or wants the before shots to stick on here on my behalf that would be fantastic.
Sussed it.

You've heard of the fedora-wearing World of Warcraft-playing neckbeard-type people on the internet, right?
I have no idea about the 3.14 bit (Pi to 2 D.P???) but it's my understanding that they use the acronym 'qt' as shorthand for 'cutie' when blog posting. I have no idea on the TFW part, it's probably one of those 4chan, 9gag or imgur acronyms such as 'MFW' (My Face When) or 'MRW' (My Reaction When)
Official Urban Dictionary definition of a neckbeard:
(n) Derogatory term for slovenly nerdy people who have no sense of hygene or grooming. Often related to hobbies such as card gaming, video gaming, anime, et. al. If this party is full of f*cking neckbeards, I'm out. I've got better things to do than sit around with a bunch of unwashed nerds. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=neckbeard&defid=1558347 -

Pretty sure 99% of sites have that rule, never been to one where you weren't required to remove mags before leaving the game area and entering the SZ.
I very much agree with keeping fingers outside trigger guards at all times you're not shooting at someone deliberately during a skirmish, there's just too many potential factors at work. Apart from anything else it's literally the easiest thing to do just about ever, possibly a close third after breathing/absorbing light through the eyes in this thing we know as vision.
No matter how good a site's rules are you can never prevent some f****** morons putting loaded mags in AEGs and thinking "oh I'll just have a quick test fire in the safe zone.. it'll be fine". I've seen it, I've f*cked up myself in my own house (which I'm very ashamed of but when the ricochet goes real close it teaches you a lesson for sure) and I've met very few players who haven't seen someone do something like ping off a shot in the safe zone. I always bring at least 3 sets of eye pro to every game anyway, largely just because they're permanently stored in the bags I take. The plan in future is to wear my preferred set of eye/face pro for the playing then a quick switch to some nice, dry shooting specs once off the field. Military and airsoft folks alike are all largely shocking when it comes to safe weapons handling, I've seen it from every service, rank and every type or skirmisher without exception at some point or another.
Most brits (mainly softers) hate the 4 rules that the yanks like to use, but having tried them extensively they're what I employ at all times with RIFs and guns. I personally find they give far more confidence and safety than the military and airsoft attitudes of "it's unloaded"; however I'm not the king of airsoft by a long old stretch and I do not expect the vast majority to agree in the slightest. It'd just be nice if people would respond amicably on the very odd occasion I ask someone to not point a barrel straight at my face, rather than getting pissed off and instantly massively defensive over a simple, politely worded request.

I've always found trigger discipline and weapon handling stuff kind of obvious and natural to do.
For example your grip on a pistol should be as high up on the frame as possible but sometimes you see people holding it like half way and it looks retarded, not to mention completely impractical and probably uncomfortable.
I don't know why you would do that.
Reminds me of that kid on one of scoutthedoggie's videos with an MP5 and was holding the grip with his left hand and the stock with his right or something.
Like Nickona said it's just a bad attitude / not good practice to have your finger on the trigger. We could all say 'oh well we're not stupid enough to have it loaded' etc but obviously we do it for a reason anyway. Nothing bad is likely to happen but it could so you should be careful and responsible, even if it is just a replica it's still capable of firing a pellet and regardless of where it hits someone it's still not supposed to be discharged in the safe zone or whatever.
He's got eye pro on and he's at home and everything so it's fine really.

Monty reacted to BrightCandle in Help deciding on a gun
Personally I would go with the mod 1. The main reason is its shorter, since I play a lot of cqb I don't want a long gun although they are both kind of big (I am considering a cqb-s myself). It also comes with a mid cap which I have a preference for after playing in Epsom where the high cap rattle gave me away. Multicam also looks good with desert guns. Internal wise beyond different barrel lengths they are probably the same gun.
While its nice the R8-L comes with a RDS its probably better you chose something appropriate to your face protection and style of combat. I make sure I can defend any scope I buy from BBs sufficiently so support for a killflash or specialist BB shield is essential to the choice. This doesn't look like it comes with protection so it wouldn't last long.

The son of a family friend just recently got locked up for 7 years for armed robbery. He was using an Airsoft gun. Complete bellend. His Dad is huge, I can't imagine what's going to happen to him when he's out. lol.
All these idiots are potentially ruining Airsoft for us legitimate players. If they carry on then we're going to end up with either bright coloured guns or none at all.

Treat your RIF like your genitals, don't get it out in public, don't wave it about where neighbors can see and don't be a dick! The only time you should have it out is when your in the woods with strangers.
....Oh no this metaphor was a bad choice

Monty reacted to DX115FALCON in This gun any good?
Same here.
Anyway, back to the main question, D-Boys aren't the best company in the world.
I would recommend:
-the G&G Raider (if you want an M4 style AEG [£130 or so])
-an AK by CYMA (they are a Chinese clone of Tokyo Marui, but their AK series is considered among the best on the market [about £150] )
-a JG G36 (If you want something that isn't quite an M4, but common enough that accessories & upgrades will be cheap [about £150])
I would wait a few months before getting something obscure.
