  1. I signed up to their newsletter for this latest release. In case anyone hasn't seen it they sent me a PDF of three different installation methods. I've tried attaching images of the PDF to this post but the forums won't have it. I've uploaded it to Mega so you can look at the PDF here; https://mega.nz/file/RsFiBS6S#E0Js44LnGw0AaGamF86znhqfHrMWgQ6D03Lz-1sr-OE
  2. That's cool, would be interested in it if it's not prohibitively expensive and how it (if it does) integrates to work with AEGs or does it require a whole new gun to work? I did note on their site it states it's 140-150db so everyone near you (and yourself) is going to need hearing protection.
  3. Anyone else registered with Airsoft-hub getting spammed with a bajillion emails? Since 1900 i've gotten 21 emails alerting me to messages. When I log in, i've got no new ones.

i had one which was a reply i received a couple of months ago. so guess their server is having a bit of a meltdown as the website is also super slow

I had 10 when I get home, I asked why they contacted me as I don’t even have an account now, got a message back saying they had a glitch which meant any messages than had been sent but not delivered where now going through. It’s seems to have stopped now.

  4. As for scam sites, there was someone attempting to impersonate Crown Airsoft and had a very convincing site. Only thing that got my spidey sense tingling was the fact that their stuff was about $100 cheaper than everywhere else. After looking about their site a bit more the name of the site was spelt wrong; CrownAirosoft. At a glance, it's easy to miss. The fake site has since been stripped to it's standard layout presumably by the hosting service. I try my hardest to pay with paypal everywhere on the internet just in case my brain turns off and I get scammed.

  6. Looks like they're potentially introducing more variations from CYMA too. I wonder what their price point is going to be.
  7. As per this reply in the other thread, KombatUK makes a version of this boot too. I picked mine up on sale for about £25 but their MSRP is usually around £40-£50. Here's a pair for £40. I've been using them for indoors play and they've very comfortable. Zero complaints about them. Not been to an outdoors site this year but I tend to use my surplus AKUs then.
  8. Nuprol make one as well. It's the PMC Micro B Chest Rig. I've been using one for about 4 month and it's been fantastic one I took the bunjees off and added magazine inserts.
  9. That's a quality spot right there. Good for me too as I was also looking for some kind of storage and that guitar stand is perfect
  10. Hi all. Just need some extra eyes for something.

Can you guys take a look at this picture and tell me if these gearboxes/trigger mechanisms look the same/identical?

I'm planning to buy a speed trigger unit for the R85A1 (to reduce the horrid trigger travel) but the manufacturer says it only works on the G&G versions despite them appearing to be identical and taking into consideration that the AA R85 is a clone of the G&G one?

Tough one, they do look very similar but there may well be small differences in the tolerances through the manufacturing process that mean it either needs some fettling or doesn't fit at all.

Only way you'll know is to give it a go and put a post up to tell us all how it went.

  11. Thanks for the answers, I plan on changing to deans later down the line when I add a mosfet to the gun but for now I just wanted a quick fix to stop the wire pulling out of the connector.
  12. On my Army Armament L85, one of the wires going into the tamiya connector is so loose it can be pulled from the connector quite easily. Would it be okay to use a dab of super glue to keep the wire in place?
  13. This is the second post this week (across this forum and reddit) i've seen of gear being stolen. A guy on reddit said he uses Apple Airtags or Samsungs equivalent to track his gear on gamedays if he's leaving it in a 'safe zone' but not locked up. Can't help but feel this is a good idea going forward minus chaining your gear to a tree. Always take pics of your guns/gear so people know what to look for in the event of it getting picked up by sitck fingered bastards.
  14. Army Armament R85A2. Despite all the listings i've seen of this RIF saying the handguard is nylon/plastic, this one appears to be metal. Only gripe is that the sling loop got snapped during shipping. Fire-support have an ICS one in stock, chances are I can modify it to fit. Just need to get a dovetail to RIS converter so I can use optics with it, an A2 style charging handle and then it's on to internal upgrades.
  15. My RIF appears to be assigned to Parcelforce so that's a bonus I guess. Shame that it takes 1/2 weeks to clear customs. I did ask the retailer to put my UKARA on the label but i've also messaged Parcelforce themselves to make sure they definately have it.
  16. Let me know how long your customs checks take. I've got a RIF stuck with customs ATM on the same date as yours and mine came from HK. Also, let me know if you had to fill in any additional paperwork. Ty.
  17. RIF from HK stuck at customs 😭 HMRC say I need a RIF declaration form that doesn't appear to be readily available on the internet. Hopefully Parcelforce come good tomorrow when I ring.

      @ak2m4

God are you kidding? I thought they'd all moved to a online/phone based system. Oh well, at work until Friday anyway so that'll probably work out fine for me

Once it's cleared customs, goes to the local depot, then you can phone up, give them your tracking code and ask to pay the fees, they will then give you a 16 digit payment reference code you can enter here: https://www.parcelforce.com/receiving/customs-charge/ and pay online, it's an arse but beats waiting for a letter to arrive with the code

@ak2m4 RIF arrived today. No customs charges interestingly.

  18. CO2 is a dry gas. Most bulbs/cartridges dont come with lube added but you can add a drop of silicone oil to the top of the bulb before 'charging' it and it'll help lube keeps the seals in good condition. 1 bulb per mag usually lasts me all game day unless i'm forced into using my pistol a lot.
  19. According to Taiwangun on Reddit they're close to being able to ship directly to the UK again. They just want to make sure that everything is going to go to plan before they launch it. See here.
  20. Slide jamming/sticking on return is caused by part 42 (recoil buffer) in my experience. It's too wide and spins on the recoil spring guide. I just sanded it down into a uniform round shape. Haven't had the issue since. Hope this can help.
  21. It is but my own forgetfulness is to blame. @Lozart if you plan on ordering to try out their hop rubbers etc. let me know and i'll split the postage with you
  22. Tried that and unfortunately by the time I got a reply it had already been handed over to DHL. Oh well.
  23. I have the exact same belt. Zero issues so far. Works well.
