  1. Red Alert today - although taking the kids paintballing rather than playing myself.

  2. No idea, so I googled it: Linky You might need a new barrel depending on what your plans are.
  3. For new players add a quid or two to a rental price and include a couple of litres of water. Anyone playing their fourth game should be aware of the physicality and their hydration needs. It's a sales opportunity for a site though, buying water by the pallet's relatively cheap (15p/bottle) so if you sold it as low as 50p you'd still make a healthy margin, added bonus is you get an extra pallet to make defences/obstacles/seats out of.
  4. Between injury & life my third game at my local site will be a full 13 and a bit months since my first. Just messaged them about UKARA, fingers crossed they're ok with it, if not I'll just have to wait a bit longer.

Funny thing about life , it does have a rather unfortunate habit of finding a way of taking a giant shite on one’s plans ?

      Certainly does @Druid799!

That was my thinking @Lozart but they seem to want the three games inside a year - their site, their rules. I don't mind if that means I have to wait an extra month or two and I'm not gonna kick up a fuss as I don't want to be 'that guy' and quite frankly there's bigger things to worry about .... like what pew to get and whether it's in stock anywhere 😂

We need a new category, the ‘Covidcara license’ ! You play one game per year over this year and the previous two years to too qualify for ya airsoft ‘license’ !👍

  5. Glad you both enjoyed it, sounds like you had a cracking experience 👍
  6. Thanks for the link, might just get me one of them!
  7. Hi & welcome! No idea on where's good near you but that site's pretty useful. Yes lots of us have our own kit but for your first time I'd recommend decent footwear, gloves and clothing that covers your skin (long sleeves/trousers) depending on the protection the site offer maybe a hat too. If you like it then you can start building your kit up, get your UKARA and then fondly remember what having money was like before you spent it all on RIFs and camo 😂
  8. Plenty of good people out there, they just tend to fly under the radar as it's always the chancers that get talked about. Looks like you got a good deal there and sounds like you are rightfully pleased with it too! Glad you took the time to give the good guy some airtime, it's good for all of us to know there's still decent people out there and that maybe, just maybe, every seller you come across isn't actually trying to pull a fast one.
  9. 😂 we neeed to see this!! Didn't think anyone gave a monkeys about cameras nowadays. Filming's even made it into a few briefings to check if people have objections, there are potential safeguarding issues with under 18's and the occasional random that thinks that by videoing them you're destroying their soul.
  10. From experience - nothing that's expensive to fix. That said I've a rescue edition G-Shock in the drawer that needs a new battery, maybe that'll be my Airsoft watch 🤔
  11. If there's a waterproof version of what you have then that's the safest bet. Bear in mind that all boots & waterproof socks have a hole in them (the bit you put your foot in) so it's also worth making sure there's a good overlap with your trousers or you have gaitors. If it's been raining then brushing against long grass & undergrowth will be where a lot of the water will be coming from. I also use waterproof socks for mountain biking. They're great up to the point the water starts running down your leg, at which point the sock fills with water. Yes it's warm, but you do realise that while they don't let water in, they also don't let it out. Essentially waterproof socks are a more expensive version of sticking your foot in a plastic bag before you put your boots on. Personally I have some waterproof boots.
  12. Ignite Tactical. Not an overly imaginative name change. It's definitely the same guy, while the site isn't overly forthcoming with contact details or company info, the privacy policy contains our good friend George's name and address at the bottom of it. So either they're changing the name and are going to be Xtreme Tactical trading as Ignite Tactical which is perfectly fine ...... or ....... they're setting up to liquidate the former and replace it with the latter. There is no mention of Xtreme on the Ignite page, so the evidence suggests that history is about to repeat itself. Yes, the system is flawed and that is why we need to look out for this kind of stuff so that people don't get ripped off. It's up to banks etc to do their due diligence , if it's something we can do as a community pretty quickly then they should have no problem finding out the same info. That said, as BIGShow knows/is Mr Gibbons/Quantum Tactical/Xtreme Tactical/Ignite Tactical then he has had the opportunity to fill us in of the details of what actually happened to the last company and why SIG optics are no longer for sale - if we are so wrong in our conclusions then this is the perfect place to set us straight. However, judging by the previous outbursts and pretending to be someone else, I don't think it'll happen and if it does it's likely to be as honest as a cheque from Quantum Tactical.
  13. Guy at my local CQB often just uses two pistols. Even the marshals say a pistol is all you really need.
  14. Not quite. It's a classic move of closing down one company and continuing to trade under a new name, it clears the debts as they're unsecured and in the name of the previous Ltd company. Just means it costs the rest of us more in fees as the likes of Lloyds and Paypal aren't going to want to be out of pocket in the long run. I'll let you draw your own conclusions as to why they'd owe Paypal so much.
  15. Seeing as I had five minutes spare: Xtreme Tactical Ltd was incorporated on 19th February 2020, George is a Director. Prior to that he was a Director of Quantum Tactical UK Ltd (formerly Rifle Optics UK Ltd) between April 2017 and September 2018 and then again from November 2019 until it went into liquidation on 4th March 2020 with debts of £55,514.36 (£23,943.55 to Lloyds and the rest to Paypal). In the period between the two directorships the company was run by Paul, with the same surname as the aforementioned George. There was also a brief flirtation with Extreme Electronics Ltd but they must've decided against that as the company was struck off the register. All the above has been taken from official submissions to companies house and are available bere: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/officers/Hz_Oz6Jv_dxKyCzBIxHPKEbrNMk/appointments
  16. Hello & welcome! Our eldest is 10 so looking at taking him to a game soon - he’s desperate to go!
  17. Surely retinal burning comes at the higher lumens? I spend a lot of time mountain biking in the dark and judging by the impact of when mates look round and forget their head torch is on, anything over 1000 should do that nicely. But more is probably better in this case.
  18. Hello & welcome. Loads of info on the net for your research and loads of knowledgeable people here too. Definitely worth doing a search before you ask any questions, we're a friendly bunch but you'll get a much better response for showing you've put some effort in first
  19. So I ran the Southampton Marathon on Sunday. Took me 4 hours and 25 minutes which I'm really pleased with considering summer decided to turn up and it was 25 degrees. Legs have just about stopped aching now. Was it a good experience? yes Am I doing another? hell no
  20. I'm with you on this one, it's certainly not how many of us would treat a new gun. But there are people out there who genuinely couldn't give a sh*t about their stuff and the description may actually be genuine. If that's the scenario then I'd steer clear cos let's face it, they've hardly taken care of it and who knows what you may be getting. The other scenario is that they're talking out of their arse, it's been used loads and it's overpriced. At which point steer clear. All personal preference of course and we may be being unfair to the sellers, but in a world where caveat emptor is the general rule when buying stuff, I'd rather err on the side of caution.
  21. Personally I don't have UKARA yet (will meet the criteria at my next visit). But, of the two retailers I have physically visited, both have said that as long as I can provide proof I am engaged in Airsoft activities (bookings etc) then they were happy to sell me something without UKARA. Obviously you won't be able to buy online / import stuff and you're limited to what you can get locally but it's worth a visit to a retailer if only to look at shiny new stuff and pick up a few consumables.
  22. Hello & welcome. If you can stretch the budget a little it’ll get you firmly into TM GBB pistol territory.
  23. Hello and welcome back! I expect a lot of things have changed in the 20 years but also a lot hasn’t!
  24. If your chosen activity has organised events then signing up for one works as a motivator/stick to keep at it. It’s also a bit of an extra challenge to push yourself. I don’t really like running, but had never done a marathon so signed up for one - it’s got me out running when all I wanted to do was stay in. Will be glad to be on the bike more when it’s done though as that’s my main sport. 2.5 weeks till the marathon - eek!! 😬
