Shamelessly nicked ftom faceache. It was titled The Army Photograper but I think it's more like The Airsoft Youtuber
-
I suppose every game day has its negative sides. Bad jokes aside, glad you enjoyed yourself

Modifying Airsoft to fire torpedo shaped projectiles.
Cannonfodder replied to Gun_Smith's topic in General Help
I remember hearing about similar donkeys years ago. Iirc they had major issues with feeding. Also I'm sure the vcra says to be considered an airsoft gun it must fire spherical projectiles of no greater than 8mm -
The 'What have you just bought' Thread

Please tell me it's called Francis and will be rocking all over the world 😁 -
Unfortunately my experience of the stitch counters is that the vast majority seem to have their head up their arse to such an extent that they think everyone must have the same amount of knowledge as them, even if you've only been involved in the scene for 5 minutes. Don't get me wrong, I certainly don't expect to be spoon fed, but shitting on someone for asking questions or the most minor things like how their boots are laced up is just being a cunt for the sake of it. If you ever visited the Red Alliance forum you'll know what I mean

Re-spraying two-tone with vinyl dye rather than plain old spray paint
Cannonfodder replied to L1ct0r's topic in General Help
I'm guessing here, but it might be that the original finish is preserved as dye is absorbed into the plastic rather than just sitting on top like paint would -
Importing from HK and Preferred Manufacturers
Cannonfodder replied to SteamPunkSultan's topic in General Help
As above. Years ago when the exchange rates between the pound and the US dollar was more favourable you could make some good savings on importing from the far east. Not so much anymore, especially with shipping costs being higher -
Imo losing the stitch bitches would be a good thing as they put me off going to milsim events, so something like this appeals to me.

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Cannonfodder replied to Skara's topic in General Discussion
I took a trip down to Bunker 51 for the first time. On the whole I enjoyed it as the staff were friendly, helpful and knew what they were doing. On the down side I found there were some who seemed reluctant to call hits and needed 4 or 5 shots before calling it Also I'm glad I picked a mid week game as there was only 13 players on site. I got the impression that if the site was fully booked (30 is the max iirc) it would be far too crowded. All in all I think I'll go back, but probably not at a weekend -

A GSR replica from airsoft world. All I can think say is that if you're thinking of getting one don't bother, they're shit. When trying to change the mesh for the clear lenses one of the screws holding the mesh mask in place refused to budge and rounded off the supplied hex key. Next one of the rubber bits connected to the straps tore off whilst I was wearing it. All in all it's a piece of crap and will be going back -
A blonde wslks into an electronics shop and says to the salesman "I want to buy this tv". The salesman replies "I'm sorry but we dont serve blondes". Upset she leaves and comes back the next day with her hair dyed brown, but once again the salesman sends her away saying they don't serve blondes. The third day she comes back with her hair dyed black. Again the salesman tells her that they don't serve blondes. Confused she asks how the salesman knew that she was blonde to which he replies "because that tv is a microwave"

This, even with the fanciest breathable waterproofs you're going to get hot running around. Personally I tend to wear a regular smock as while it's nowhere near waterproof the rain helps me to not get too hot as I like to keep moving, but if you're the sort to sit in a bush then something a bit more waterproof may be more suitable. Whatever you decide to go with remember this quote from Sir Ranulph Fiennes "There's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing" I have very little sympathy for those who don't dress for the conditions and then spend all day whinning about being cold and wet

Thoughts on YT channel Negative Airsoft
Cannonfodder replied to BigBell1987's topic in General Discussion
When it comes to airsoft youtubers he's definitely one of the better ones. No clickbait made up bullshit or trying to make out he's the airsoft equivalent of Jason Bourne unlike certain others -
There was a dvd released years ago (called airsoft guide iirc) where an aeg and gbb were tested to see how much water they could take. Both were able to be left submerged in a fish tank and were able to fire just fine (although the water resistance meant the muzzle energy was very low). As for other kit, even the cheapest Chinese made webbing or BDUs should be able to cope with a soaking so if it falls apart after that then, yes you do need better kit. I agree that you get idiots everywhere, but certain events tend to attract certain types of players and it's down to the organisers to act when the idiots play up. AI seam to have trouble doing this. As for the retort of "play better" that's not so easy when the teams are so unevenly stacked that one side is unable to move. Once again this is down to the organisers to sort out. The website and fb page giving different info could easily cause confusion as not everyone is on facebook, or follow airsoft pages and so could easily miss something which is updated on one but not the other As you posted, you can only go off your experience, but likewise I can only go off mine and wasn't great
-
I disagree. Some people are just fucking stupid. It wouldn't surprise me if someone did it with the intention of setting the sprinklers off. Also if your kit is going to be destroyed by a bit of water then you should probably get better kit (not that it means such behaviour isnt twatish) But the discussion is about using a rif with a muzzle energy within site limits. Saying a rif can't be used just because it's got a magnifying optic, regardless of the muzzle energy shows the organisers are either incompetent or just can't be arsed. This combined with the way the rules differ between what's on faceache and the website and the way they keep changing don't give me confidence that they won't fuck it up again

He's probably into that sort of thing
-
Sorry, but I'd rather shit in my hands and clap than pay money to that bunch of cheating cunts who couldn't run a bath, let alone an airsoft game. @Dalerj94do you have some connection to AI? It's just that you only post in relation to their events and you're the onlt one who has something positive to say about them

Just wait till you get to level 2, collaborate

I'd be more surprised if a thread did stay on topic Sorry, byt the Tiger has to be the most overrated tanks of ww2. Yes it was well armed and had decent armour, but the Maybach engine was underpowered, unreliable and over engineered. This meant it was slow and drank fuel like it was going out of fashion. All this meant that the tanks at the front were reliant on long complicated supply train where advances were limited due to fuel issues and tanks needing repairs to be taken all the way back to Germany. Also there's the sheer weight of the vehicle. At 50 tonnes many bridges were simply unable to hold that weight. Another problem with the Tiger is the production cost. A single Tiger cost the same as 2 panzer 4s or 4 Stug 3s

Thanks, I needed a good laugh. The only group of men he could gather are probably banned from going within 100 yards od schools and playgrounds
